Installed my WDTV inside the middle console to keep out of sight. I am using an IRblaster to control the WDTV. I snaked it up from near the passenger foot area and it works great. USB powered so it just connects to the WDTV with no need for external power.

Also wired direct to fuse box, 12v works fine.
