Just checking in, new to the forum. Ive been into car audio every since i heard a wall with 12 10inch JBL's, in a 1973 impala with primer paint job, and 13inch Dayton wheels, 10 years ago lol. I do have quite a bit of knowledge of car audio/video design and whatnot. I mainly knew about mainstream, "household" name brand companies, up until a couple years ago. I lurked around a couple other sites, and i found them not really helpful ( too much bashing others and off the topic talk ). This is the best one i ran into plus it has manufacture boards which i find very helpful

The Manual gives the option of wiring it mono at 8 or 4 ohms.

The Q is not a bad sub but like said before the X-con is another level above it. SQ wise i feel the x-con is much stronger and its capabilities in the spl realm surpass that of my previous Fi BL so i see no better choice for a driver. I have yet to be impressed by any driver since getting my X-cons.

I just checked paypal and did not see it in there. Which address did you send to? Okay, I just checked PP and its says payment is completed to payments@soundsolutionsaudio.com Ok, it went through. We will process it in the morning and it will ship out tomorrow. You officially are buying the very last new MAW-15. Something you can say I guess. I can also say that this sub sounds incredible in my system. It displaces a 12" TC 2+ and a CSS CDX-10 ported which I had been switching between. The combination of bass articulation with authority of the MAW-15 in a sealed 1.8 cuft. enclosure trumps my other systems for SQ w/ presence. This next MAW-15 will replace or perhaps alternate for bass duty w/ an SI Magv4. It is too bad more of these are not being made. I also wonder if something like the IXL15 actually sounds better or just has more SPL capability.? Brings to mind IDQ vs IDMAX which to me IDQ has better SQ, but IDMAX can play louder/ hit harder.

What is your definition of "better"?

A lot of the amplifers that zed made dont go below 2 ohm. He doest not believe in the low impedances cause it is harsh on the amps. How much power are you looking for and i can make a list for ya??

First off you are never going to get a straight answer cause everything is subjective to the install. Second WEIGHT of the sub has nothing to do with the proformance of a sub. Third state your music preference, your goals of the system, car it is going in, and other equipment.

Your sitting here bashing fi when you could be finding your own info, it jus takes a little effort Shipping to Fi = $36.50 Price of recone + shipping from Fi = cant answer cause you never answer Nick. So what options you need ?? Time jus guess a little, it takes 5 business days (according to ups) to get there + about 3 to 7 business days to do it + another 5 business days to get back to you So Time = about 17 business days

Weight has nothing to do with which driver will perform better. If you want loud, you should be using a ported box. If you can't fit a ported 15" driver, you should be looking at a 12" ported driver. Based upon your "usable frequencies", ported is a MUCH better option anyway.

Screw that, use some people that respond. Look up *** over at ***. Their work is sick. Do a search over there and look at the dust cap options and some of the custom stuff they can do.
