Just because your amp is capable of delivering 500 watts does not mean it has to. If it were my choice I'd buy a single 4 ohm DCON and run your amp at 4 ohms, then when you decide to upgrade add another and wire them to two ohms. This is assuming that you have space which I don't know.

It is really hard to buy a junk tv anymore, most all good tech comes from 2 main company's and put in outher brands. Comes down to tv use and how much you want out of the money you are spending. Fit and function.

X2How come you're using a 4th order band pass? I like the wide frequency range that the bandpass can play. Still learning and have a lot of learning to do, only 17 years old. This is my first bigger build and its gonna be a big learning curve for me. "wide frequency range" and 4th order bandpass are not generally in the same conversation.

There's nothing wrong with planning ahead. I wonder though, what did you do for an enclosure for the Dayton. Did you put it in the same enclosure the AE AV12 was in? If so did you model it first to see if it's response was going to be similar to that of the AV12? If the answers are yes, then no, then you've not even given the Dayton a fair chance. Even forgetting about the modeling, if you put it in the same enclosure it's still not a fair comparison. On the other hand if it has it's own new enclosure that has the proper specs then it's just falling short of expectations and it is what it is, lol. Having never used anything from AE I can't speak any comparison to the offerings from SSA but I can say that everything I've had experience with from SSA is definitely at the top of the list when compared to most of everything else I have had experience with. Not that it's a large list, but still, they're all impressive to me and I recommend them to everyone at every opportunity because I believe in the product. I wish.

An alternator outputs current based on demand to maintain adequate system voltage. This is why your lights might dim when you suddenly increase current demand (turn AC on full blast, etc)...there is a bit of a lag between when the current is demanded and when the alternator can supply the additional current. Besides starting the car, this is what the battery is for...to supply the additional current needed during these sudden increases before the alt picks up the slack.Think about it logically....if there was only 100A of demand but the alt was producing 250A....where would the additional 150A of current "go"? Think of it this way.....current isn't just produced, it is drawn by the load. There has to be a demand for the current, which is based on the load and voltage. Simple test. Get a clamp meter and put it on your alt cable. Start the car with all accessories off and then gradually start adding loads by turning on accessories.

We are constantly working to improve SSA and we just bought the integrated gallery for the forum software. Mark has done the coding and got it working great. Everyone can start uploading tons of pictures here, we finally have the server space. All you have to do is create a new album and start uploading, no needing to re-join like on the old gallery. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/gallery/ Click the link ^^ .

I was wondering where to get my protein for our here on my deployment back in June. I contacted TrueProtein.com and got some great deals. Guys all I ask is you check them out. Their prices are VERY competitive and unlike alot of the 'big box' supplement makers, when you order 5 lbs of Protein with Chocolate flavor, you get 5 lbs of protein, THEN they add in the cholcolate flavor. This give your more protein for your dollar. Use Discount code JNR490 to save 5% off your entire order and 10% if you order over 16 lbs. Again all I ask is you check it out. The site may not be 'flashy as hell' but in the world of fitness when did shiny become a requirement? J
