A few years late, but we are finally getting a very nice tweeter going that is worthy of being a part of the SSA line. The pictures below show the prototypes, they are really attractive in person and will, in production form, bare the SSA logo. See the attached files for the 4 and 8 ohm versions. They are quite smooth to my ear (aka not super bright like some metal dome tweets can be) and blend well with the Evil6.5's (vital to the design). These are not a PA style, 'screamy' tweet, these are meant for sound quality first and foremost. Possible future home audio plans. Pricing is not set just yet. These will be sold as a pair. Some quick points of info: 28mm Silk Dome, Large Roll Surround Aluminum Faceplace and Housing Sound Transparent Grill Low Fs. for flexibility in both Home & Car Neo Motor with Shallow non-Resonant Chamber 61.9mm (2.44") dia. flange, 21.5mm (.85") depth 65 watts rms

Haha WOW I just remembered that I posted this years ago and had to update! Well the bad news is that I ended up getting all of the way up to 535 pounds a few years ago...the good news is that I am currently 315 pounds and steadily losing! I hope that everyone is doing well! I truly miss my SSA family!

For the price I give these 5 stars and for an audiophile tweeter I would give them at least 4 stars. Doing mild tuning still and these just get better and better with mild boosts and cuts (.2 db here and there) crossed over at 3750 Hz in kick panels powered off 2 channels of a Zapco Z-150.6. Brings up 20k and does not fluster and is EXTREMELY tunable. I have had SEVERAL other tweeters from Hertz, CDT, Image Dynamics and so far these are the best.

Test fit on the tweets. I have to say these things are stout! Very well designed & assembled. I am very impressed by the build quality on these tweets.

Have to still add some filler for the imperfections before painting.

I come on this site because I want honest information about all things car audio. I am NOT interested in manufacturers pimping their wares, making outrageous claims, and saying anything just to sell more products. I'm sure the owners of BOSS audio tell their customers that their amps CAN do 5000 watts. Thank you M5, no thank you Second Skin.

As the parent of a child with special needs, I assure you that had you said this in front of me you would have way less teeth. You may or may not beat my ass but regardless you would regret the garbage ever leaving your mouth. Think about what you say before you say it! You are a total disruption not only to this forum but as a human being as well. Good day sir!

Last chance, wrong place to be making insults which include making fun of handicapped children. Maybe you should read your posts before you type and negatively react to every post in response to you. You are not getting your original point across the first time because you do not take the time to proof read, make changes/correct your post/point, and then click the submit reply.

Aaron, my apologies in advance Sir ... Billy Jack, It's been fun brother, but You have my vote for the largest fucking troll in the internet. Not to mention ... A stupid one at that. I rarely see someone on a audio forum act like a whiny ass, screaming little bitch like you do when something does not go your way. Grow a pair dude !!! I have NEVER seen anyone carry on like you do on this forum. Honestly, you're a fucking idiot. You best be glad that Aaron and Mark never made me a moderator on this forum. I'd make it my weekly duty to come on here and ban you just so I wouldn't have to read your bull shit over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. Fucking ridiculous. I'll probably get a vacation for making this post but Fuck it, this need to be said. Please, leave people alone and start worrying about your own projects and show (not type) that you actually do know something about Car Audio. Mods on here can be jerks here at times, but do have a common goal of helping people educate themselves about car audio. /Rant ... I'm going to bed.

I will say this ... (LOL Sean, had to ...) I hardly ever run larger than a 10" driver in my setups. But I have had 4 15s in one of my ground pounders. Now after talking to Mark and Aaron personally at show and events, and basically demoing SEVERAL different drivers, If I ever went stupid and built me another ground pounder, I promised Aaron that I would be ordering SSA product s for that ride. Performance along with ownership and customer service is more than enough to run their equipment. So if I was you, I'd order SSA and call it a day brother. You won't be disappointed.

I will make an official announcement when production is near done, so please hold off on the flood of questions until then. Attached is a photo of the prototypes (MEANING THEY ARE HOUSE SAMPLE MATERIAL AND NOT THE PRODUCTION COLORS, THINK CAR PROTOTYPES WITH WEIRD PAINT JOBS) I have been testing with our custom heat sink. Loads of surface area so heat is not an issue under normal loads. Starting out with a VERY sturdy mono block and strong 4 channel.

There are two things I have never had since I got "serious" into car audio. A 10" sub, or a decent dual sub setup. So this is my build for two 10" xcons! Im super excited, they should be finished building and arriving soon, I hope. I am fitting the maximum dimensions of my trunk while still being able to fold up the stock floor and access the spare tire. I was left with 3.11 internal cubic feet without sub, bracing, 45s, or port displacement. This is firing into the car, so I also needed the subs and port to be on the same face. The triangle port is unconventional but takes up less volume than a typical slot port inside the box and also has less port wall surface area, so I'm hoping it works out. That angle took some wizardry to figure out, and it still came out a little crooked but oh well. The "45s" are little pine cove trim pieces, figured this is the best I can do without sacrificing internal volume. I used minimal bracing but it should be enough, and undercoated everything with two cans, I honestly dont think it does anything but I like to do it on my boxes. it gives a solid completed look to the inside of the box and its extra leak insurance. Final volume and tuning should be 2.4 cubes at 31 hz with 25 sq in port area. The box is a little too small and the port is a little too small, but its all the space I have. Got some black base down and some custom copper orange pearl, trying my best to match the faceplate of my Crecendo BC3500. All thats left is to carpet it with black felt, wire the drivers in, and go to town!

I've stayed out of this until now. This is ridiculous. PERIOD. I understand the rep feature is in place because it's favorable on other types of social media and that is the ONLY reason the software provider has coded it into the forum. Here it serves absolutely NO purpose other than to stir shit. Nothing else. Most people here, come here for no BS, and to get THE best advice. We don't need a rep system to alert people of bullshit or bullshitters. They are easily and readily seen and called out. Billy Jack,I am going to give you some advice. I was once in your shoes, in fact you may be able to find some of my initial posts from when I first joined here to prove it. Perception is reality. You may think you are right, you may FEEL you are right. You may be right. . . . BUT when everyone else perceives you as wrong, you are wrong. You talk about M5's comments on subjective topics. Unfortunately, it is your own subjectivity which denies you the ability to look at things objectively and see things from an open mind perspective. You may be passionate, you my be educated, you may be correct, you may even be one hell of a cool guy, but you carry yourself all wrong, and for that reason, you have ZERO credibility. Aaron, this is your forum, and you do as you please, but the rep system, IMO, is childish and not needed here. I will comment no further.

So I got home and had a package waiting for me. I picked up the 4 channel ssa amp when there was that friends and family sale going on. I was always on the fence about em but once that sale kicked off I just had to pick it up. Loved the pics of it and in. Person this amp is beautiful and has a nice strong solid build feel to it. Im replacing my hifonics Zeus 2000.4 amp so I can't wait to hear the quality this amp puts out. It it will be powering a pair of 8" Rockford pro audio. A pair of Rockford punch 6x9, pair of the ssa evil mids. And evil tweeters. Just thought id share. I don't see much of real hands on experiences with the amps.

Calling out other people just to spite them in threads they're not even involved in? Opinions and personal experiences are understandable, but that does not make it scientifically accurate, or true. When you're more concerned with your ego than betterment of the hobby/industry, it does the entire community a disservice. Please, humble yourself and be part of the solution, quit feeding into the bs. I've seen you post useful things, continue to focus on that, but please ask yourself before posting: Is this a biased opinion? Am I responding from ego? Do I have scientific data to back this up? Can what I wrote be taken the wrong way?

So there I was ... Tied up to her bed !!! had ................ Awh shit, what forum am i on here ?? Dang audio forum. OK Got these out of the closet the other day to clean them up and kinda ponder some ideas on where to mount them. Those fins take forever to clean !!! Maybe one day I can get these installed in the F-150 !!! As you can see, I had A LOT of cleaning to do on these. Thats, weird. They look blue in these pics. But I assure you, they are PURPLE !!! Maybe it's the lighting on my shitty phone. For those on the other thread looking for small footprint, very dynamic monsters ??? Might want to check these out !!! Little pricey, but WELL worth it when it comes to power, clarity, dynamics, and headroom !!! I wouldn't run anything else. Hopefully I can get back to this project soon !!! Thank you SSA

Ok, it appears I need to step in here. Sean is a member of the forums. He contributed to the upgraded forum member ships and is part of the tech support team due to his vast experience and knowledge over the years from the work he has done and his background. That being said, Sean is NOT part of Sound Solutions Audio Inc. He does not gain anything from suggesting our items. I know he has an Xcon, which means he can speak from experience on how well it performs. He didn't get some hook up or get paid for it etc. Please do not make any equivalence between SSA and SMD. Also, I don't consider us (SSA) to be an SPL brand. If oyu have any specific SSA questions, I am the one to ask. Lastly, as for ZED, I don't think I can believe that. Stephen never compromises on his amps. I have known him for many years, and that is not at all like him. I personally have 12 ZED made amplifiers, from different lines, brands, and across many years in my collection and not one of them show any signs of what you are talking about.

Just because you read it somewhere on the internet doesn't make it true. Amplifying power consist of basic electrical engineering. Just because boards are similar only conclude that they may have the customers wallet in mind. To have a board manufactured isn't just pennies on a dollar. Many internal parts may look identical through pics on the internet, with that in mind they may very well not be identical. I found this out a while back during my first attempts of fixing an amp. Some parts are actually special order & design. While the actual "technology" might not vary, the real world quality of every tiny resistor, diode, mosfet, tranformer, chip, ect.... makes each brand/ product unique. Electrical engineering and the actual physics behind amplifying a signal are pre-determined laws. In order to become more efficient or even have a major break through in the science would be worth billions to the patent holder. Not an easy feet. In order to gain a large jump in any aspect either power output or efficiency, something has to be sacrificed. Most often it's the cost of materials or the size. I'm not choosing sides, just trying to help anyone understand what I have learned about very little to do with building an amplifier.
