Reconfiguring specs on my BTL enclosure

Yeah aren't ports fun to design. I just designed my own enclosure with kerfed port and did ALL the math myself. I double checked my numbers on two port calculators and was only a 1/4 of a hertz off on tuning so I'm pretty happy. Don't forget to cut the port wall shorter 1/2 the width/height (depending on box type) of the port. I sent a PM to that guy on here that claims to design boxes for people but he never PMed me back after two weeks so I figured it out myself.

To all those who know me on her and to those who will know me.

That a good start!!! I have been wiring car stereos for 15 yrs but I didn't know how to do it right until a year ago. Now I am starting understand what I am doing (thank god) and not just blindly doing one thing after another to "BE LOUDER". Everything I would read I would say thats crazy, like only running front speakers or leaving the EQ flat or very close to flat. So I would try these things and say WOW these guys have "been there, done that". A couple good thing to read about are: The way the human ear and brain process sound (very important) Magic Frequencies (understand what you are hearing and why it sounds like shit when it sounds like shit) Volts, Watts, Amperes and how they relate.(feel the power) The people here are willing to help, but they will not spoon feed you. (just point you in the right direction)

Get out you pen and notebook. Knowledge is something you must earn and can not just be spoon feed. You will not learn everything overnight but IF you want to learn than you WILL. I have spent a year+ learning the very little I know but I completely understand everything I have learned. I must completely understand something before I feel I have learned it. On another note There are things in this world I could school audio techs on So I guess you could say "I know what I know". One more word of advice: Talk less, listen more. NO SPOON FEEDING ALLOWED

Yes, two 6" ports in that box is enough. Thanks again for your help KU40. I finaly got my kerf slot port figured out but will definetly try areo's in a future build. Check out my kerf slot port and box in my build log!!! I had never even really concidered areo's until I saw everyone talking about them this last weekend. J-Roadtatts Honda Accord Build

Horray!!! I sold the type rrrrrrrr 12" sub and box finally. I can always use more money for this project! Anyways I got the box done today!!! Dry fitted the box in the car and every thing is Perfect, seeing as I dont have a 1/4 inch to spare anywhere!!! The spare tire still comes out!!! So then I took the box apart and glued the half together that I can do outside the car. Don't worry I have pictures but I am getting ready to entertain some dinner guest so give me a couple hours and I will post them for you picture whores.

    Aero port help

Do two 6" areo ports have enough surface area for 5 cf net box? 2 - 6" areo port = 56.6" and I need 60 min. everywhere I read is telling me I can use less port area and I plan on buying two from partsexpress but want to make sure I'm good. This is for a fi BTL 15" fully loaded and I am looking for max Efficency.(why I got the BTL) I have the box biult and think I might be happier with areo ports over the kerfed port I am trying to build? Please let me know what you think?

    Car audio career

I have run both a brick and mortar shop and now an on line store. Both offer (or offered) great products and we work(ed) very hard to give the best customer service, both were or are a crap ton of work nearly 7 days a week and neither were or are much of an income at all. Long live the Brick Masons.

I know I have a car audio addiction when......

...when your thinking about your next set up before you are done putting in the one you have and just spent a year planning.
