    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Just threw a chunk of some local beef in the smoker. Meant to do it yesterday but missed my window. The mouth is watering already!

Had my first salad in probably a month and a half last night. The grass in the yard was starting to look good.

I own one suit and it is corduroy. Has probably been 20 years since I wore one, and it was a rental for my sisters wedding. I look like Fabio in the pictures.

Possibly build model cars. Model rockets. Break out some paint and do a paint class. Build something in the garage and show them how to use tools. if it was my dad he would’ve put me to work doing something. Pulling weeds, cleaning, organizing, stripping parts, White washing fences. if that don’t work they will probably avoid you like the plague just for mentioning It.

My wife’s company emailed this week and stated they would put everyone back on payroll for the next six weeks, until reopening. Sounded like there was going to be a bunch of new regulations in place as well.

Sounds like a good time to start busting out projects to keep the mind busy.

Sounds about as schizophrenic as Colorado weather. We get all four seasons in one day sometimes lol

My dryer duct is super plugged so I’m getting ready to buy one of these. https://www.vacsysint.com/product/reverse-skipper-nozzle-w-coupler/ I had tried to build one out of brass but it was too heavy.

At my shop where we burn through filters I just buy the cheap ones. That’s running AC and heat year round. And also close proximity to heavy traffic. They easily have a solid 1/4” of dirt after 4 to 6 months. At home I’m still running the re-usable one that was in there when I showed up. That’s only the furnace and less outside dust. It’s hardly dirty when I blow it out once a year. pretty good ends of the spectrum for comparison.

Haha thanks. I normally don’t complain. Was more showing sympathy and giving solace.

    What battery do I need?

Without knowing the vehicle is hard to recommend an exact model. Sometimes one size bigger will fit in the same space, with little or no work. But you’ll have to measure. Any good AGM battery will be an improvement. If money’s no object I would either get an XS Power battery or a Deka. otherwise I personally am running a pair of AGM’s from O’Reilly’s ( Super Start iirc) and they are holding up well. whatever you do, don't waste your money on an Optima.

You and me both. It snowed all day here yesterday. I am waddling like a penguin this morning. King Kong has my spine. I’m so over it. ready for some hookers and blow in a bungalow in Bora-Bora.

There should be a reusable one available. Otherwise I’d just buy a pack of the cheap ones and change them accordingly.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I have plug-ins wired all around my garage like that. 2/3’s of it is done with regular romex wire just stapled to the wall. I added a breaker and a plug-in right next to the power panel, just so it’s not “permanent”.
  17. This topic is to discuss test box alignments and tuning for a 6.5"-7" midbass. I am planning on testing quite a few mids in different alignments. MY GOAL IS TO achieve tight accurate dynamic midbass down to 63Hz, with overhead in the output. I am after a very open natural crystal clear sound. I am NOT after punchy colored thick sluggish midbass. My current set up is the Seas U18 in an IB (deadened doors). They are crossed @63hz 24db slope presently. I am running two 15" Icons sealed, crossed @50hz 24db slope. The U in its current alignment handles these frequencys, but has what I believe to be cone edge resonance once at reference level. Plus has no overhead left for dynamic peaks. They are only on about half power currently... but will be fed full, if not double once dialed. I know this will help with the dynamics, but is not the topic at hand. Also worth noting is I will be adding an H701 DSP before testing, for greater control of the fr. I understand a heavy and/or ridged cone and and stiff surround will control cone edge resonance, so a few choices are in that direction. Otherwise these are all picked for large voice coil, high xmax, and high suspension compliance. Also must play high enough accurately to reach the tweeter. Mids picked so far: Evil Seas U18 Seas CA18 Seas ER Scan speak 18W Dayton rs180 The test boxes being considered: IB/deadened door sealed for a .5 Q sealed for a .7 Q ported tuned to 50Hz ported tuned to 63Hz I understand the effect the ported box has on cone excursion vs output. I understand the trade off of the ported box is either gain efficiency or drop the fs. I see that tuned to 50Hz gives the reach and 63Hz output. Here is modeling of the 18W black 63Hz red 50Hz green .762 qtc blue .505 qtc First few questions. Am I approaching this correctly? How does cabin gain play into this? Should I my model in Leap? Or is it something I can eq out? Am I overlooking anything? Any other input on the topic appreciated and thank you in advance.

A little more whitled in. All the specialty wood pieces installed to sculpt to the seat bottom, and pieces to support the inner edges of the side panels. Decided it should have drink holders like the other. THen ready for a second coat of paint. Thats where I'm at this morning.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I started on a second Mustang couch this week. Worked out the quirks I don't like about the first one. Got the seat a little more raked out for us taller peeps too. THe initial framework assembled... Seat and side panels installed! This one's getting a little something extra. Using these trim off of a 50's Ranchero bed top to cap the edge. Corner shot.

Love you too my friend. We both get plenty of sleep and eat healthy. lots of exercise. She knocks back at 6 or 7 mile hike every morning. Glad you think the speakers are sexy! I drool on them every time I look at them.

That’s the plan. I’m also willing to travel to their house. Honestly did not keep track of the virus thing until it shut me down. So I’ve just kind of been watching the numbers the last couple weeks to see how I wanted to proceed.

Honestly Matt I fear more for my wife. She takes Embral and has a compromised immune system like you. So I fear that I could easily carry it with no signs back to her. she is crazy though. Her doctor already told her do not leave the house. Send someone else to the store and have them change clothes and shower when they get home. Do you think she listens?

My wife made pizza’s with homemade dough last night. Extra good with the bread flour. Wish I could try some of your sourdough. Yes you should definitely send me pictures. I was having a pretty manic off week when you guys were here. I was bummed I didn’t get any myself. My wife got laid off a week before me but at least gets Job attached unemployment. Not that that comes close to covering everything, but is a start. She is super stressed out. I have a few ventures in the works. Wish me luck.
