  1. I only get static when both sets of rca's are plugged into my 4 channel avionix amp. When i have ony 1 set of rca in the amp it is clear (Static-free). I tested this on both sides of the amp and the same thing happens regardless if i have the rear rca installed or front rca installed or vice versa. ANy ideas?

  3. I just installed an avionixx 440.4 amp into my rsx and I am hearing 'static' distortion coming through all my speakers. The distortion, though slight, 'plays' along with each note of the song if that makes any sense to anyone. I was thinking of adding a noise suppressor but I am not sure if that would be another waste of money. I am begining to think perhaps the amp is a defect or just not up to snuff for the job (quality-wise). Here is what I have tried thus far: -Ensured secure ground to the vehicle chassis using 4 guage cable (same gauge as power line). -ran rca straight from the deck to the amp thus negating any possiblity the other rca's/speaker cables could be causing interference due to close proximity. -ensured the deck is grounded solidly. -tested 1 speaker at a time(ran only 1 speaker connected to 1 channel) and adjusted CENS to no avail. -ensured all rca cables are 'good' and not stretched. -rewired HU harness. -switched amp xover from full>low>hi modes all three give the same distortion. I am begining to think this amp either sucks or is a lemon. Perhaps someone here can add some other insight...
  4. wow you're just a posting machine aint ya Well, i can get the pg for $10 less than the tsunami for whatever its worth...the orion 4004 i can get at $150 but its only 50 watts a channel
  5. which is better and why? Looking for cleanest power possible for $150usd. I want something between 70-80wrms 4 channel at 4 ohms. Looking at Orion 4004, pg octane r 80x4 or avionix tsunami db4440.
  6. holy moses indeed...after scouring google for comments on this car audio e-tailer I too am feeling angst!!! Granted any comment of e-tailer business experiences like anything else must be taken with a grain of salt...particularily when you take into account that 1 negative experience will reach mythic proportions as opposed to a good buying experience which probably results in no or at best, few good praise posts. E.g loyalists vs. loses. WIth that said...this Woofersetc.. was accused by some buyers as either a 'front' or some business that really doesnt even exist!! So...appparently the owner is very rude and brash, he returns e-mails on a 'do-i-feel-like-it-or-not' basis. I had emailed him several times this last week (regarding questions i had for a product) and have yet to receive a response. Usually as a rule of thumb before i purchase from an e-tailer i email them (usually several times) and see if i get a prompt response and if i dont (I am talking weeks lateR) if there is any explanation to the delayed reaction. Keeping this in mind I did not rule out dealing with this guy(s) till i noticed the unequivocally bad experiences people got from this company. Some individuals became so fearful of losing their money they immediate canceled the ransaction after the owner contacted them via email (after some time) telling them that he is either out of a product or that he could not account for their order and to call another long distance # to find out what was ordered which does sound a tad bit odd to me. Anyway I am wondering if anyone on here has had any positive experiences with this company Woofersetc...??
  7. I wont touch rockford personaly i think its garbage. Pheonix i dont like octane i think im gonna go for the tsunami tho the orion is probably good i found out its only 50watts x 4 rms as opposed to the tsunamis 75 x4
  8. If you had a choice between the Orion 4004.4 amp and the tsunami db4440 (avionix) which would you choose? Is one going to be cleaner sounding than the other or would any difference be negligible? Say you could get both amps for the exact same cost. Its gonna power CDT classic comps (up to 90wrms??) and rear boston acoustic rally coax (40wrms) The orion>>>> http://www.cbrstereo.com/Merchant2/merchan..._Code=ORIONAMPS The Tsunami>>>> http://www.avionixxusa.com/ep/db4440.htm
  9. ONe Hundred MIllion Dollars...!! Actually around $130usd
  10. Is the tsunami DB440 amp any good? What other amps would be comparable?
  11. Heres the situation...I have Boston Acoustic NX67 (around 5yrs old) in the back of my rsx. The problem is that when i raise the volume on my Alpine 9807 HU to around 15 at 200hz, mid-range +4 I get severe distortion from these speakers. A ppi 2240 amp is powering both these speakers and the front CDT Classic Components. The Comps sound beautiful at this volume, you can really here the mids and highs articulate and hereinlies the problem. I want to be able to play my deck at this volume at this specific x-over frequency (200hz) without the rears distorting. Would I be best suited to 1.) replace the boston coaxials with a speaker that can handle higher rms, 2.) replace the ppi 2 channel amp that's powering all 4 speakers to a 4-channel amp, 3.) run the rear Bostons off the decks power and just use the ppi to power the front comps (60watts rms)??? Initially i was thinking of replacing the Boston Nx67 Rallys with some Crystal CSx615 I found at Sounddomain, however at this point I am not even sure if that's an upgrade or, if any differnece would be negligible. This ppi amp is rated at 60watts rms x 2 at 4ohms, so would this mean I am running around 30watts rms per speaker (since its running both the comps and the rear coaxes)?? Anyhow please provide me with your thoughts...if it comes down to getting a 4 channel amp then let me know if theres an amp in the range of $120 that is decent for my applications. Thanks

    HELP! MAJOR DISTORTION!!

So i have cdt comps in the front and i like them at this volume and i only have a 2 channel amp ($$). So...my boston rallys in the rear distort like crazy even when i only run them off the amp and i dont want to run them off the deck cause i like the imaging i got now i just dont like that i cant take the volume past 15 at the mid level i have at 200hz...perhaps its time to replace them? I want some coax that wont distort easy how are these cyrstal audio csx615?
