  1. I never said anything about it having a port, am only trying to learn how to design one and learn how they work....nor am I comparing them to any other kind of enclosure, simply want to understand them. I know there is no way to have a true t line in a car due to size.

  2. I have been reading on t-line boxes for a good 2-3 hours now and am just not understanding the design part 100%. Only one that I have read and felt like I somewhat understood was the "u-shape" style design. I have always done slot ported boxes and was always happy. I think it is time for me to learn a little more about boxes.

So far, this is what I have grasped

Say I wanted a box tuned to 34hz. I would take 1130 (the speed of sound,) divide that by 34. Which would lead me to 32.25ft (rounded a tad). I would multiply that by .25 because I am looking for the 1/4 wave length. I would need a port 8.0625ft long. And SD equals port area? Also I am aware this is not a full t-line, hence why I am asking about 1/4.

If any one could point me in the right direction or let me know if I am even on the right track would be great.

The box I will be designing is for a single 10 nightshade v1

  3. Up for sale is a DD M3a, silver....no different then the black ones other then color, I was in a hurry when I took these pictures, so if you would like any more just let me know.

In great condition, normal scraches on mounting feet and a few wear marks only noticable if ur 10 inches away from it. Was on a good electrical with hardley any drop, most I saw was mid-low 13s.

550obo shipped to the lower 48

Only interested in *partial trades* for 2 sa8s or vvx8s (must be d4) or a single 10 (must be d2). Other then that, cash only.

  4. I have one ufo mag sytle btl right now that I am using, has the cooling and the high-xmax coil....I have had it since new and remember there being an option for the heat ring(pretty sure thats what it was called,) I got everything but that option...would a btl with the heat ring be ok to throw in with mine that does not have that?

    Thanks

  5. I have a non wall box for a 21 warden going in a 2 door blazer, I have two boxes saved as a design right now. Both are about 8cu after all displacements and have 120-130sq in of port. The box is set up for sub up port back.

My question is, would having the port on the side vertically facing the hatch make any much difference then if the port was on the bottom running length wise horizontally facing the hatch. I know each vehicle is diff and theres no telling whats better, but figured maybe the way the air moved would be diff or somthing.

    Thanks for any help

  6. Ok, and one other question...do aero ports require half the port area as slots? Another thing I was told lol, say like a slot port I want 100sq in of port..aero would only require 50? I thought port area was port area regarless of the way the air left the box

  7. Last 4 years and last 7 boxes I have all used slot ports. I have never even looked into aeros before so I got a few questions and would like some support on what others have told me about them.

As of right now I am using the torez calculator to try to help me with this. The box Im designing is for a 21 warden, I would like to have 115+ sq in of port for it tuned to low 30s.

I have been told that flared ports somehow equal a bigger straight port, example I was told that a 6in flare would equal a 9in straight port. Im guessing the torez calculator goes by straight ports that are not flared.

I am getting confused with all the diff info I have been given and would like any kind of help towards this.

  8. There are no vacuum leaks and the timing is good...I pull code p0102 (maf sensor) and sometimes a p0305 (cyl 5 miss). The truck stumbles from idle to about 1k rpm when in neutral or park. I tried cleaning the maf and disconnecting it, either way it ran no different. The plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and coil are all new. Any more pointers from anyone, could a bad maf cause a miss?
