    BL or Q

eh dont think you are giving the bl its "SQ" credit. for the average person who mainly listens to mp3's it has good enough sq. I haven't heard a Q but i have heard a idmax and a AA avalanche. and based off of memory i would easily through it in the same category. it also had much better top end bass than those ported and can still drop like a bagged impala as far as the 30 hz range is concerned. a lil eq cutting and it can "blend" in easily

    Visonik Audio?

if i recall correctly they are basically built by the same people as Audiobahn, current Alphasonic,Digital Audio ect. Speaking of which i was working at a local audio shop for a week (business was entirely to slow to have 3 installers) and they had a brand of subs called fuel audio which was made by digital audio that were packaged in plastic like something that would be hanging on a rack in the store. unfortunately selling cheap crap like this is the bread and butter that keeps most stereo shops still open.

    Car Audio Magazines

pasmag is alright. seems to be way more focused on "tuner" cars than audio installs. Even though i didn't agree with alot of thier viewpoints (say sealed sounds better than ported but talking about a 40-45hz fart box, saying a 10" sub is louder than a 15" sub without stating that is everything else in the install is the same while giving each sub its optimal box size/tuning the 15" version of a sub would 99% of the time be louder than the 10" barring a trunk install where the bass cant effectively enter the cabin.) i liked CA&E better because it was more based on showcasing install rather than bieng basically import tuner back when they put "full" cars with audio installs in the mag
  4. yeah thats normal. that song brings back memories to me to. not good memories but memories all the same. Listening to Eamon's "i don't want u back" helped me get over ex's

Looking to upgrade to FI need some help

the whole underpowering speakers are bad thing is a half-truth. it will only damage your speakers if you try to make up for your lack of power by excessive gain,bass-boost, boosted eq or pretty much sending them a clip or distorted signal. i would also suggest getting a custom box followed by more amplifier power b4 worrying about more subs
  6. another suggestion to confuse you somemore. Hybrid Audio Technologies Imagine. run for 250 and can be brought from 12voltelectronics authorized.

    Jl 12w6V2

damn what the point of the argument? he just said he liked the skars more than the w6's he had. he didn't even say they where better he just said HE liked them better. not everybody likes the sound of pure sq. some people like to actually know there is a sub back there, want a slightly peaky response, ect.

    Fi's Sub Line-up

there is a warranty but it doesn't cover stupidity so get your settings right regardless. the bl is very musical. I have had a a 12" idmax and a 15" avalanche in sealed and ported enclosures in the past and haven't noticed any real lost in "sq" by running the bl. it sounds closer to a flat response than those to did in a ported box. The bl still has a hump in 30-40hz range but it doesn't seem so much as it lacks on the topend but the lows are just so heavy if that makes sense

    cap

are they good for getting noise out of your system if the typical "move grounds, switch rca's ect" dont work?

    running HAT Imagine active

nevermind. i read the article" why imagine series don't have a outboard crossover" and found out that the crossover is only for the tweeter and not the mid.
  11. I'm considering getting the HAT Imagine 6.5 component set. I want to run them actively (using a deh860mp) but it appears the crossover is built on the midrange. I know i can simply bypass the connection to the crossover for the tweets but what about the mids?

    mirror rattle?

well i'm going to need to deaden the doors once or before i get a real front stage in my car i'm going to need to deaden the door anyway.I .probally will put some CCF between the mirror and where it mounts to the car I do believe i need to deaden my rear deck. my substage is a Fi BL firing through the rear deck. on higher bass notes, which should be more directional, it blends pretty good with my current crappy front stage and gives upfront bass (u have to cut it off to really tell its on) but u can tell its back there when it drops which i think is from it rattling stuff back there. i also am going to need a shit load of MLV since i want this crown vic as quiet as my dads lexus.

    mirror rattle?

I haven't done any sounddeading yet. the only really bad rattle you hear on my car are the sides mirrors. when i open the door they stop. would CLD on the doors stop this(i guess by preventing the vibration from reaching the mirrors) or is there any way to deaden the mirrors without seeing anything extra on them. they are the foldable mirrors by the way

    painting subwoofer basket

sub enclosure has a plexi window so it would be seen when trunk is popped. I might go for it on the BL, just a lot off shit that needs to be taped off. I know i'm going to paint my ava since it needs a recone anyway.
