bone-able. Replace the Jeep with my penis...now we're talking. Same size, of course.

Most of the politicians are about as good as their speech writers, but Obama does know how to speak to a crowd that is dying to revel in his effervescence (not literally, of course...lol).
-
Thanks, gents. An uneventful day, to be sure.

Obama has been a member of that infamous church (Trinity?) since 1988 or 89. He went to a Christian school when he first began attending. His mother was an atheist. He has never been a Muslim, though there is nothing wrong with that by any means; one of the better members here happens to be Shi'a. Do you have any sources that indicate he converted 4 years ago? Curious what your research consists of. I don't believe Obama has the best policies for the US, but the amount of misinformed and prejudiced BS that is being spread like wildfire is unbelievable.

Power compression is a topic that is rarely discussed, but always important. When you hear someone call various theile/small parameters a

Based on the description, I would say that the single-stack magnet and the 5 progressive spiders are the new options...and there might be more options as well. Scott likes to keep things hush hush until they're really ready...so you might have to wait another month to find out.

What's really bizarre....to me...is that when someone is trying to turn a corner, we don't help them do that.... Calculating the 1/4 wave frequency with a distance equal to the distance between your enclosure and the mic only tells you that...the 1/4 wave frequency. It doesn't tell you where your vehicle peaks, though. The best way to approximate this concept is to measure your subwoofer in the enclosure you will be using in an anechoic chamber (although groundplane measurements are more appropriate for a subwoofer), then subtract this from the measured response with the enclosure in your vehicle. This will give you some insight to your transfer function and where peaks and dips are created by your vehicle. Of course, these peaks and dips are changed if you use a different enclosure, a different firing orientation, or different obstacles in different positions within the vehicle. Flat axial response (ie. flat measurement on an RTA) is a good start if you wish to accurately reproduce an input signal. The question is: how do you get flat axial response? Is summing a pair of drivers to achieve flat axial response but with high(er) distortion really a solution? The reality is that there is no one aspect that you can check off and say "Ok, that's perfect". It's a sum of the parts kinda thing...and something that an extremely small number of people understand well enough to correlate what their ears hear and what is actually occurring. Can a ported enclosure be flat in a vehicle? Pretty debatable and, dare I say, unlikely. Ryan cited an EBS alignment as a relatively flat ported alignment and it undoubtedly is....but not in a vehicle. The transfer function of your vehicle throws that for a real loop. Thus, I believe a sealed enclosure is often the best solution if flat response is your goal. That doesn't mean that any of the ported enclosures will be less preferable listening to music....just that they are less likely to measure flat in what I would consider to be usable bandwidth.

DevilDriver replied to Incriminator's topic in Incriminator Audio
Looks like black nickel plating, which I like aesthetically. Uses ADC (right acronym? Air Driven Cooling?) which is an excellent concept. Clearly an underhung driver but probably with a fairly small coil judging by published Xmax and the height of the top plate in the picture. Any copper? Presumably single progressive spider? Maybe dual...hard to tell if it is progressive either from the picture. A little low on efficiency. Not a real concern, though, in my opinion. -
According to BladeIce.com, the Chaos uses a 3" 4 layer aluminum voice coil. Might have changed since that was originally put up.
-
You would still want a spider on your PR as that is where most of the compliance comes from. There are some DIY PR tutorials out there, if it interests you.

That's about it for the moment. Exodus Audio will have some in the future, but none right now.

ya i think i can agree with that, i just want to kno why i am ALWAYS the bad guy no matter how the argument started lol. all i want to do is get a good nights sleep before i go to SBN and IM the bad guy...wtf You have a cock, therefore you are the bad guy in a womans point of view. End of story. They have a pussy, therefore they are the whiny psycho cunts in a man's point of view. Relativism at its finest.

Just shave it off, Sean. I need a hair cut, too. Maybe I'll just let it keep growing out, though....

Girls are crazy in an unpredictable way....guys are crazy in a stupid way. The end result is that people = fail.

Who opened? edit: Forgot that it was Against Me! and Hifi Handgrenades. Foo Fighter and Against Me! would've been a good time, no doubt.

Nice. Sorry if I missed it...what did you end up getting, Steve?

There are quite a few companies that use a 4" VC in car audio...mostly for SPL competition. The net result is typically higher packing density in the gap and more BL; usually the power handling is improved as well, but not always. Lots of different VC OD's used.
-
I think for your application, a focus on drawing air in from above the top plate while keeping as much BL as possible (ie. no pole vent) might have been better. At least that is the general opinion of Dr. Klippel and a few others. But I shouldn't say anything since it could be exactly what they were looking for.

I don't think quadrophonic sound is of quite as much use in a vehicle, although I do feel that employing the Haas effect can do wonders for your midbass output and "ambience". From what I posted on CA.com...

That logo looks sooo much better than the ones on the other lines (except for the Havoc). You know you want to give us a motor shot.

Monday, Monday, Monday. Somedays I just love reading what LB has to say.

That test was surprisingly not awful. Probably should have studied more than an hour or two, but still relatively satisfied.

The use of SQ or SPL as an adjective to quantify sound is pointless as the adjectives themselves are not quantifiable or at least not well defined.
