    '07 GMC Sierra Build

Ok here's a little update got all my sound deadening installed, great stuff from SSD, Thanks again to Don. The one thing i would point out is to plan on where the velcro will best distribute the weight of the MLV, stuff is very heavy. What a difference it makes, road noise is reduced like crazy. I cant wait to finish the cab floor and rear wall. Here are some pics. Pic of the deck Pics of the truck

Plan on doing a sealed box snice i listen to all kinds of music, also plan on making an amp rack out of MDF and mount to the wall, I was looking at the Tang Band 25-1166SJ tweets to play with as well.

    '07 GMC Sierra Build

Hey guys this is my first attempt at an active sound system in my 2007 GMC Sierra classic body. My goals are to achieve good all around sound with a little bump at all volumes, nothing too crazy im not going to be competing. My budget was ~$1000 and plan to keep as much of the install stock looking since theft is high here in Tucson. I been piecing this together over the past few months and is getting closer to install hopefully i can start this weekend. Here is what I have as of now: Head Unit - Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD Front stage – Dayton 6 ½” Classic DC160s-4 & Dayton Classic DC28F-8 Front stage amp – Rockford Fosgate PBR300X4 RCAs & Speaker wire from Mono Price Sound Deadening from Don @ Sound Deadener Showdown (CDL tiles, CCF, MLV) Doors only for now Still need to get: Sundown SD10 Sundown SAX-1200D JBL MS-8 Power Cable for Big 3

    07 Sierra Classic System

Hey guys i had a similar post a few months back, but i have done some more research and this is what i have came up with. have a 2007 GMC Sierra Classic reg. cab what im trying to achieve is enjoyable SQ for all types of music from bass heavy rap to country to classic rock and everything else in between. I would like it to sound clear at both low and high volumes. Im trying to keep the install as stock looking as possible. Budget is around $2,300 total. I would like to keep the speakers and tweets in the doors i understand that this is not the best location and will be off axis, but i am willing to adjust time aligment and EQ untill i have it dialed in. I can also experiment with baffles placed on the door to achieve better on-axis. Here is the list of equipment i have in mind. Head Unit - Alpine INA-W900BT Active Front Stage Tweeters - Dayton RS28F-4 Mids - Seas Prestige L16RNX Sub - Sundown SA-10 Amps Sundown SAX-100.4 Sundown SAX-1200D Lots of Sound deadening I dont believe that the INA-W900BT can run active, so i assume i will need external processing. Maybe Alpine Imprint?? i would like the Rockford 3.sixty.3 but it has not been released yet.

    Truck box w/ SA-10

Hey guys just looking for a little input here I have been doing some measuring and test fitting cardboard templates to see what I can fit behind my seats without having to loss a lot of leg room. I came up with this set up. Dimensions 13”H x 20”W x 5”depth1 x 8.5”depth2, with 3/4 MDF it gives me .646 ft3. The Sundown SA-10 specs say it will do fine in a sealed enclose at .5 ft3 so after displacement I should be right on track with .546 ft3. My only real concern here is the mounting depth at 6” I should be in the clear right?

    First Post, Possible Setup

I have heard the Focal 165 KRX2 and Focal 165 KR2, really loved the KRX2 but the price is out of my budget. Im sure these is something out there for half the price. Im a fan of the older boston pro's, not digging the newer boston pros, sloppy midbass and bright highs. I have seen the Q-logic kick panels but have heard mixed comments about them. Im not set on placing the speakers in the doors but like i said would like to keep it as stock looking as possible. Also would like to stick withh 6.5s also a three-way is not out of the question, but from reading i understand that the staging has to be a liittle more precise. M5 any ideas on which speakers i should take a look at and consider? Whats your honest opinion on Sundown amps? worth the hype they get on here?

    First Post, Possible Setup

I have not bought anything yet, pretty much doing reserch and trying to get a good direction to which way to take this install. My goals are to achive a well blanced sound system while keeping the install look at factory as possible. Im not agaist placing the tweets hight up like the A-pillers but I would also like to keep the install simple and stright forward do to the fact that i havent been doing this for years ,like alot of new adventers im sure it will be trial and error. Like i stated before, im not looking for an award winning system just something that sounds nice and clear, tight midbass, highs that are not too harsh(I do like my music at high volumes) and a subwoofer to bring it all together. I know the Fi SSD is a nice little monster and I would like the front stage to keep up. I know budget always come into play, so im not completely set on a budget but i think around $2500 is realistic goal. Please if their is anything i have not mention, let me know. I appricate all ur help and time.

Not at all. The whole idea of mounting to the door card is TERRIBLE. You need to mount them to the metal part of the door to a robust baffle. Oh alright understood. So pretty much fab up a MDF baffle and install directly to the sheetmetal of the door itself. Hmmmm that way i could still use the factory grille, correct? i guess first thing first i have to get the speakers and play around with the placement, because like i said SQ is my main goal and that location just might work out.

Thanks guys. Hey M5 are you referring to the ABS plastic damian uses to have the baffle sit flush with the door panel? would i be better off fiberglassing like his second attempt?

Hey guys this is my first post here, love the website. Anyways, i just purchased a 2007 GMC Sierra Classic reg. cab a few months back and the stock radio is driving me crazy! What im trying to achieve is a SQ oriented system, not necessarily competition quality but enjoyable SQ for all types of music from bass heavy rap to country to classic rock and everything else in between. I would like it to sound good at both low and high volumes and when needed/wanted a lil thump. Im trying to keep the install as stock looking as possible. So here’s what ive sketched up. Please give input on what you guys think, Thanks in advance. Head Unit - Alpine INA-W900 Speakers - Hybrid Audio Clarus C61-2 Subwoofer - Fi Audio SSD (unsure of 10" or 12" & ported or sealed due to space restrictions) Amps - Sundown Audio SAX-125.2 & SAX-1200D And plenty of sound deadening Possiblly placing the speakers in an setup like this:
