  1. Who cares if the company is following the market or not? The only to care should be Phantom Soundz and or other subwoofer making companies. Calling someone an idiot for not following the market is stupid. Sundown wasn't following the market when they decided to design the surround for the Zv4. But its Sundown right? It MUST work!

If the neo 8 doesnt work out and the company fails then thats on THEM, but they gave it a shot and i aplaud for that for at least trying something slightly diferent.

  2. I still help out alot of my friends with their systems as well without charging them. Earns more of a connection rather than just some audio shop relationship where they get your money and shove you out the door.

Crazy to hear that decade old sub are still in use haha good stuff man!

  3. Never had anything worth metering at 18, nor was there any place to get anything metered. Almost no one around here knew anything about sanctioning bodies either. There was a select few people who did any competing at all and I sure as hell didn't have the funds to get into it. Though when I was about 21 I took the setup I had in my '88 Park Ave to a "Meter 'n Greet" that a local Risley's was having. Scored a 134 with a single 12" from Radio Shack powered by a Profile A200XL in a custom built ported enclosure. Kind of a laughable number but I didn't thinIk it was too shabby for what it was. It got me an audio job quite a few times when I demoed it for people, but it's the only thing I've ever had metered. Wouldn't mind knowing what the van does just to know.

Landing a job from giving demos? I wish it was like that for me haha

  4. Anyways.. This happened to my cousin.. He ran an amp that was drawing too much current and he was running 4 gauge CCA cable and a 100 amp fuse, the fuse never blew but the wire started melting. He got himself some 1/0 OFC and never had that problem again

  5. The positive terminals i have connected to the bank of caps im running get warm. I have one run of 1/9 from the front battery to the caps then 2 runs of + to my amp. Both runs warm up.. Imagine if i was running smaller wire.. My truck would most likely catch on fire from wire melting and shorting on the floor

  6. o cant tell you why they did.. i can only tell you that they did...

and back in the day, subs were jokes when you VS them to what you kids have today. shit what we all have today...

you look at funky pups and laugh,... but that was a avrage sub back in the day.

some where in the 90's they started getting mass to them.. but even then it was not like today.. im talking a beefy 15 would weight in at 25 lbs or so. and it was a HUGE sub.

my point was it took more knolege to get loud back in the day.

Yup! I was looking at pics of older DB Drag veichles and found it amazing the amount of work and equipment put in to get loud. 160's back in the days was world record range now its as high as 181+

  7. I built this one when I was like 20 (14 yrs ago, damn i'm old) I think. High score sealed on the dash was a 154.x db on only 1500 rockford watts :). Was this truck that spawned team SSA and ultimately the Forum we all call home now.

Damm 154 sealed with 2 15's on that power! Never really understood how or why people say those stroker's got loud by seeing the spider takes up half the cone :o

  8. yup but it didn't last long though, I ended up getting t-boned buy a an Accord, but the Rex was awesome had a JDM B16A, 18" KMC Tramps, had the stereo system. I loved driving down the beach during spring break. It was always funny watching people break there neck when i would ride by.

Sucks to hear that.. My brother's 94 accord burned in front of my very eyes because of an accident.. Loved that car

But yeah i love seeing people's expressions when they hear loud bass rollin by

  9. depends on vehicle too. When my truck had 2 18's and a normal ported box it did a 50 at the headrest 50 in the kick and 50 at the dash. I have never seen anyone else post that they metered the same anywhere inside. Very strange......

Now I am 3 db louder in the kick. My headrest and sealed windshield number is the same.

but at 18 I didnt car about metering. All I cared about was getting ass. Two 12's and a 400watt amp was bangin back then. I didnt do any upgrading every month back then.

Hahaha every teen cares about getting ass sometimes too much of it and things end up going wrong..

But your scores being the same is pretty badass! Not having to worry exact positioning and what not like I do
