  1. Fellas...i'm up for it all....only weekend that's a no-go is memorial day weekend for us. I just need to know a date so I can prepare to get some good food to cook for ya. :)

Whew....I was beginning to think I was gonna hafta start masking off the dogs and make molds just out of sheer boredom.

Hell, if that's the case, make the trip to South Bend and help me out with the fiberglass well enclosure for a 95 Z28. Think a 15" Mag in 4 cubes will be loud enough in that hatch? B)

  2. WEll, I had some other enclosures to build today so I decided I'd get a little playtime with the Magnum in...

My baffle is pretty much finished up except for the cosmetics so I went ahead and hung it all from the deck and ran some speaker wire from my truck to the trunk of the Cutlass.

Wow!!! This thing is AMAZING IB!!! GOOD GOD!!! I love this; I'm so happy with this application right now it's like getting laid! I don't remember the last time I sat in a vehicle with just a subwoofer playing and actually enjoyed it. Hell, I don't think I ever have until today. If anyone has the time and patience for this, I would highly recommend trying it. YOu will not be displeased!!

Also built another large enclosure for it so I could get a little louder for the hell of it. Came out to 5.32 cubes tuned to 32Hz. This thins was loud as hell with 1.2K on it. The rear of my cab and window were flexing so violently I though the glass was going to shatter and the truck fall apart! It was frightening. Just thought I would share my playday with everyone!

    Thank You Nick! :D

  3. Stock Alt, probably not gonna cut it. I wouldn't go any less than 180, but I don't know what the nominal current draw on those RFs are so I am just taking a shot in the dark here. Keep in mind, your amp will rarely, if ever, draw max current. I would use a dual battery setup as well with the one battery dedicated to the vehicle itself and the other dedicated to the audio system. It is best to run dual batteries off and isolator, although you can get away with running identical batteries(ie same model and ver close in age) in parallel, but many have said this is not ideal. I'm no expert, but with my experience, I haven't had a problem with the batteries in parallel ever. Then again, my systems change about every 6 months or so, so I'm not constantly doing the same thing.

Now when you say you've figured out the complete system, you only mention the Mags and the Bds This is not all you're putting in your car is it? I hope not.

Also, power is going to be dependant upon the enclosure. Put those puppies in a 8 cube vented enclosure and with that power daily, I would think you'd be asking for trouble. How 'bout some more specifics? What exactly are you looking for out of the drivers?

  4. what are you going to be running with the a404? a600? I know your mag will be on the a1200. that a600 would do great on some SI 8's if they become available.

You're right on with that one. I'm awaiting their release and will be using them for midbass only. The A600 will power 4 of them, and the 404 will be for mirange and tweeter duty.

  5. you beat me out on one again!!! I had a bid in on that one for 380. Oh well, gotta be home when the auction ends to win it.

that's ok, I got a bid on another one on there as well.

HA! Don't EVER try to outbid me on an auction, especially when I have the utmost desire for it. I will tell you, I had a max bid of $800. Kinda nuts, but ever since I sold mine, I have been reeling to have them back. All I'm missing now is the black A404 and as it happens, a buddy of mine picked up a perfect one off Ebay and he's holding it for me. What are friends for??!!!

Nick, the car is slick! Should've left it all black (I'm a plain and simple guy). That thing is gonna rock!
