  1. Just curious why the SSA store has the 311 and 312 models but not the 313. I could order from Summit or Jegs, but hey, support the forum right?

Why is the XSP310-313 not on the SSA store?

Well, it's officially February 2013. Any news?

  5. Just placed my order for the 330 max 200+ at idle alternator that Mike Singer makes. Has anybody tried these out before? I'll be sure to post up a review when it comes in!
  6. Got it in and I sit on around 14.9 when cold and 14.5-14.6 when warm. never drops into the 13s even at full tilt while idleing. Very pleased.

    Truck setup help

8 12s is a LOT different than one 18... If you're looking to keep the box below window level you're not gonna have a ton of room to work with after batteries, amplifiers, and room for wiring (and any other small thing you may run into).

  9. I had the Addictive Audio 10.4 (115x4 @ 4 ohms) screwed into the box playing the 2 Selenium 6W4Ps active fine for a while. I started getting a static sound from the speakers, when I noticed that nearly all (7 out of 8) screws that hold the casing of the amplifier to the internals had stripped out and was barely hanging on for dear life. I took the amp off the box and took it inside to have a look, and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. That being said, I have no idea what I'm looking at, but there were no loose wires, no solder points that had failed, etc. I gave it another try and set it on the floor of the truck beside the AQ2200D, wired it all up, played fine for a while, then did the same thing. I noticed that if I bumped the amp a certain way, smacked the RCAs, touched it to the 2200, etc, it would resume playing normally, only to fade away to static within 30 seconds, which I thought was weird. Anyone have an idea? Maybe a ground wire or something?
  10. So you think an isolator would solve the problem? Could you suggest a brand? Don't want to pick up a shitty eBay one. ?? Don't by a scosche, there useless. And an isolator won't solve the problem, but will be a possible bandaid Well do you have a suggestion that could fix my problem?

  16. Just read all 6 pages. I'll be sure not to buy one.
  17. Got my alternator in and hooked up today, but had a few issues. First of all, the new alt came with a different plug. One of the wires was longer than the other three, and it was in the exact same place that there was a wire on the original plug (the original is a 4-pin, but there is only one wire leading into it. This one wire is in the same location as the one long wire in the new plug). I decided to just use the old plug, as the other three plugs on the new pin are insignificant. We fired it up, and it made a low humming sound and began to smoke. I smelled something funny, not necessarily burning but kind of like it. I have never seen an alternator smoke before, so it freaked me out and I killed it. After my heart got back on beat and everything cooled, I gave it another shot. This time, it made the humming noise but no longer smoked. The only problem is that it was only charging at about 13.5. It should be at least one more volt. I e-mailed Singer about the wiring configuration and he told me to run the long wire to an ignition source and ditch the original connector, but seeing as how the original connector only has one connection, I can't see why it would matter. I went ahead and ran one to one of the ignition fuses in the fuse box under the hood and it was still sitting pretty low. Charging, but not near as high as it should be. When throttle is given, it'll raise up to about 13.8-13.9, but I haven't seen it reach 14 the whole night. Did I fry this thing, or am I missing something?

Can someone from DC Power Contact ME!!!!

This thread is why I went with Singer! I understand that this order is way out of the ordinary, but the way DC handled it was the exact opposite of how it should've been handled! You've had this guy's money for like three years and you drop f-bombs on him for being a little impatient. Totally unacceptable!

    New System

You know how it is, all responses will be very opinionated. I would go with whatever you can find the best deal on. Sundown is having a sale on SSA, might be a good deal. Here's a link. I've also heard very good things about the Skar VVXs. Here's a link. If that doesn't suit you, I'd look for some used SSA ICONs, Fi Qs, etc. Like I said, whatever you can find, as long as it's a reputable company.

MTX ZX1000.1? Google search came up empty. What is the rated power?
  21. So anyway, about my alternator... Can't wait for it to come in. I'll post up a video of my voltage before and after the install. Meanwhile, I've got to decide what to do for my next setup... I'm thinkin 2 18s walled (or firing up, not sure which would be better overall), with 2 BTLs seeing about 3000 a piece. We'll see how it goes.
  22. I havent been on SMD since Stefan put up his spl calculator.. Trololololololololololololol
  23. I know your joking but I hope you didn't take any of my comments negatively. No, not at all. I really do appreciate your, as well as everyone else's, input. I'll get back on here for some real recommendations when I get some money. I was just throwing around ideas.
  24. I've made my decision! I'm selling my BTL, getting a couple of these funky pups I've heard so many good things about, and wiring at 0.00095 ohms. Each FP will be seeing about 19000 jiggawatts, ideally.
