  1. The other day I was driving and I smelt a wire heating up and starting to burn so I turned the music down and then my sub stopped working. I assumed my ground was bad but none of my wires are melted, my amp isn't in protect mode, no blown fuses and the sub wasn't blown. I can't seem to locate the location of wires burning and need some suggestions of things to do. I have 1 12" Q @ 1 ohm with 1000 watt Brutus amp powering it all.

    Speaker terminal issues

So I got a 12" Q last week and I LOVE it but my sub cuts out or has alot of background noise and i hooked it directly up to the amp and it plays fine and I am figuring that its the speaker terminal because when i put my finger on the negative it starts to play but when I take my finger off it stops? and In addition the - wire looks charred on the inside connecting to the terminal so my main question is has anyone else had this problem and what would be a good solution?

Sorry its going in a 2004 Toyota Sienna XLE Limited With JBL synthesis.. The box could be sealed but more than likely it will be ported with the sub and port facing up I really can't think of anything else I can include about the setup?
  13. So before I had a 12" Powerbass running off 400w in a sealed box and it sounded great but was horrible on the lows. Now I was almost dead set on the Q's until I saw everyone saying if you are stuck in-between the BL and the Q to just go for the BL. Either one i get will be fully loaded dual 2 ohm running off a 1000w hifonics Brutus or sundown. I listen to a lot of Dubstep and rap also i like how my Powerbass sounded clean unlike my friends kickers that can shake a car next to it but just didn't sound full?(I can't think of the right word to describe it, it just didn't sound right) ps Sorry for the millionth question like this
  14. All right I'm gonna see how much cash I have free after this next paycheck to get the Sundown and just wondering whats the benefit of wiring it down to 1 ohm? And How would this be done? I'm semi-Clueless
  15. I'm planning on getting a 12" Fi Q (dual 1 ohm with cooling, spider and heat ring) and putting it in a ported box and I am on the hunt for an amp to boot. I think I found what i want and its a Hifonics HFi1000D but i also saw a Hifonics HFi1200D for $50 more so i was wondering if its a good idea to go with the extra 200 watts and if i should just stay around 1000 watts since thats what the sub is rated at. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23548_Hifonics-Brutus-BRZ1200.1D.html http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22705_Hifonics-HFi1000D.html edit: added the amps link.
