  1. How much do you think a box to specs would cost if I had someone on this site build it and ship it to me?
  2. yeah it says 3-5 cuft but whats the diff in sound of 3 cuft vs 4 cuft vs 5 cuft?
  3. I have a 2003 Pontiac Vibe and an AA Mayhem 15 and Im trying to figure out, ideally, what size box would give me best results and what way to fire my sub and port. Can anyone tell me how to figure that out? Like different variables associated with this. I was thinking sub up port back.

    AA Havoc 18

Since I am new at this, I am trying to expand my knowledge on what and what not to do. Tis why I asked.

    AA Havoc 18

Ok, thank you. That is exactly what I was looking for. Question answered.

    AA Havoc 18

Thats why I also asked about 1700W. I hear people throwing more watts than a subs power handling so I figured I would ask if the Havoc could take over its power rating daily.

    AA Havoc 18

trying to get some opinionS. thats what these forums are here for, right?

    AA Havoc 18

I am thinking about getting an AA Mayhem 15 or an AA Havoc 18. I am kinda leaning towards the Havoc but idk if my amp will be too powerful for it. Hifonics BRZ2400.1D 2400W at 1 ohm; 1700W at 2 ohms. Will either of these be too much power for the sub? If either of these numbers are good for the havoc for daily use, I think I will get the Havoc. But, if not, Mayhem it is.

    Too much power?

Didnt wanna get overpriced. When youre a newb like me, you can be fooled around with lol

    Too much power?

Im looking to spend anywhere from 4-6 on the sub itself. I know those subs are completely different, but I dont want to get the Mayhem 18 bc itll drown out a lot of the music. Ive heard the havoc is less in spl and more geared towards sq so I figured the 18 would still give me great sq since its the Havoc and since its an 18, itll still put out on the spl side as well. I mean its gonna be a daily driver with no competing purposes. I def want a speaker that will hit hard, which Im sure both of these will do, especially the Mayhem. Idk if the Havoc 18 will be too much for the car or if I can even fit it in the car without taking the back seats out. I was kinda set on either of these, whichever would perform best in my car. But, I am open to suggestions if anyone has better ideas. And like i previously stated, idk if my amp will be too much for the Havoc. I see a lot of people supplying more power than the subs power handling rating and they say its all about how smart you are with it, but Im unsure to what that means. I dont wanna spend the money for the Havoc and then have it blow because I put too much power to it.

    Too much power?

Hey, everyone. Im looking into getting either AA Mayhem 15 d2 or AA Havoc 18 d2 or d1 depending on how much power it can take daily. Amp is Hifonics BRZ2400.1D and I read that the Havocs have a power handling of 1250W rms. I wanna know if I can power the Havoc with the full 2400W or if I would need to wire to 2ohm for 1700W. Also, would either of these numbers be too much power for daily use? The car it is going in is a pontiac vibe and has about 24cuft of cargo area for the box so I dont think Ill have problems fitting the box in the car. But, Ive also read that certain setups are better for certain cars and idk how to tell since Im quite new at this. If anyone knows a price for either of these new, email me at gnestle@mail.usf.edu I have a local AA dealer who installed my last setup (two used 2006 RE SX 12's on Hifonics BXi1610D on stock electrical) and was extremely happy with it so he will be building the next box and installing everything. Thanks in advance!
  12. If i did go with the 18 Havoc, should I wire my amp to 2 ohms for 1700W or keep it at 1 ohm for the full 2400? Not quite sure how much it will take to get it going and how much power is safe for the Havoc for daily use.
  13. But, if I did decide to go with an 18, say maybe a AA Havoc 18, do you think I could fit that in 24cuft? Idk what the best box size for that speaker is because it says 6-10, but thats a big difference lol Im gonna have it designed for music, no competing.
  14. how much space do you have available? according to the website the 15 need 3-5 cubic feet each, and the 18 5-8 cu.ft., not including port displacement. give us your max dimensions. I think Im just gonna go with the 15 bc my last setup was two RE SX 12's with a Hifonics BXi1600D and they sounded great but I was in an accident so they got destroyed :-/ but in that car, when the bass hit, it drowned out the music sometimes. So, the 15 should be perfect. My only issue is that idk which sub will sound better on my amp. I think I may just flip a coin and use that method to determine which one to get lol
  15. Will I be able to properly power the sub with just 2400W? and if that is enough power, I am looking for it to be a daily driver so what options should I put on it? I am kinda leaning towards either the BTL or Mayhem but I dont know if my amp can power them properly. There is no such thing as under powering a speaker. "2400w" is plenty for a btl or mayhem. Hey, man thanks for the info! I gotta get my info straight lol but will both of those speakers perform about the same on 2400W considering the power handling is higher on the BTL? Ive always thought that I was supposed to have an amp putting out around the power handling value. its a marketing scam bro, 2400w will be plenty. let me ask this just to make it clear, do your subs or speakers sound bad when you turn the volume down? obviously not! Haha this is quite a valid point!
