Thanks Aaron. He has some good rep but not a whole lot. It's very stressful because we all want to trust everyone right? I really hope my first experience won't become something I regret.

recommendations on a line-out converter?
Angelboy863 replied to Angelboy863's topic in General Audio
Here's an update, couldnt install the system yet. The box for the 12" sub had a cutout diameter of 10". so pretty much waiting on a friend who has the tools to make a bigger hole because I don't have the tools. And all weekend my buddy had lacrosse functions do I couldn't hook up the wiring. Hopefully this week I can get that hole cut bigger and finally install this system. One thing I did notice is that his front stage sounds very quiet. Is that because of the stock radio? It wasn't till volume 35 that the music was "okay" loud. And even then that's way too high of a volume on the radio. Eh, hopefully we can get a nice double din in later lol. -

Should be plug and play pretty much. One side connects to the output from the radio, flip a switch for rca, and other side on loc has rca outputs. Radio - LOC - RCA wires to amp. It should also come with some instructions, should be straight forward if you haven't looked at it in hand yet. thank you! yeah i havent looked at it in hand yet, i want to be prepared so this install can run smoothly. I will let you guys know how this will turn out tomorrow or the weekend. thank you. -

are you quite sure this will fit on a 2010 chevy cruze? it doesnt say it in the description, and i really do not want to have to return this if it isnt right, but thank you for the link. Look at his sig was making sure that the 2010 and 2012 are the same. i believe they are now. thanks. i understand, ive told him this but he said no the lc2i is too much so we'll go with the PAC and if he isnt truly satisfied he will save up for a nice double din. but the thing is his dad doesnt want him to change the headunit considering its basically new, but his dad also doesnt understand that with an aftermarket system he should have a aftermarket radio. thanks man -

Help with preventing voltage drops?
Angelboy863 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hello everyone. There have been numerous times where my voltage drops to 11.7. I usually have a constant 12.8, or 12.9 (never 13 ) On idle with music a little bit up (volume knob at around 20 out of 30) and/or other electronics in car I'm around 12.5 but when I'm at idle and my music is up it can get to 11.7-11.8 I have a 96 civic. Stock alt is 70amps. I have a kinetik 800 under hood and big three done with 1/0 kicker wires. Those are currently the only electrical upgrades I have. I have a temporary system in while I'm saving up for some good stuff. Just a 12" Sony xplod on a 250w monoblock xplod amp. My voltage drops from this? Gain is 1/4 up I'm not een stressin the amp. Could this be a sign that my alternator is getting weak? What would you guys recommend I do. A HO alternator isn't an option at the moment. . Is upgrading big 3 to 4/0 going to do anything or would I be wasting my time without upgrading my alt. More batteries? Plan to run an almost 1000wrms system soon. I do plan on getting another battery in the back again, like a kinetik 1800. -

So my dad and i got a new "high output" alternator from ebay. its supposely 165amps but not sure yet (how to figure out actual amps?) wayy better than my stock alt. we got it for about $150 shipped. we installed it today and voltage is at a steady 13.6-13.7. pretty impressed so far but again we JUST installed it so i hope this lasts. not bad for $150 though. still only kinetik 800 under hood and big 3 so i c ant wait till second battery is in, hopefully it'll boost that voltage a little bit. -
Im about to purchase a e12d2 and i got my buddy's old saz1000 to run with (temporary, i will run an amp around 400rms) ill let you know how that goes. Box is 2.0^3 tuned 32hz.

Just emailed excessive amperage to see if they can build me an alternator around 160amps. Hopefully the price won't hurt too much. -

Dangg, I guess I'll check out the alternators at autozone. I was around 13.4 - 13.7 when I had two batteries in the car but I sold the second one and since then voltage never was over 13. My gain is 1/4 up. Before it was 3/4 bit that was about a month ago. Since then I sold my second battery and eased up on the gain because voltage was so low. -

Sundown Audio vs Hifonics
Angelboy863 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I want to know which would be best for my system. Im looking at these two amplifiers.. The Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D v2 http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Sundown-Audio-SAZ%252d1500D-v.2.html The Hifonics HFi1500D http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22707_Hifonics-HFi1500D.html Either will be powering a Sundown Audio 15" Nightshade at 1 ohm. So 1500wrms from both. Id like to know anyone who had experience with either of these amps and what you recommend for me? I have big 3 with kicker 1/0 all kicker 1/0 wiring and XS 3100. Stock alt. (130amps.) it wont be spl just fun everyday driver, SQ with a little power. thanks everyone. Will be in 2002 Ford Ranger Ext Cab -
Hey everyone i'd like to hear some opinions on what i want for my sub stage. I want to get rockford fosgate. here are the options im thinking.. 2 12" P3's sealed or ported? 1 15" T1 ported 2 10" T0's ported 1 10" T2 ported Will be getting 1000rms to them. I've asked all my friends and their opinions are scattered lol. What do you guys think I should get? I want good sound quality and loudness as well.. id go for more sound quality than loudness but if i can get loudness too that would be great. Im leaning more towards the 1 15" t1 or p3s sealed but idk.. will be in a honda civic coupe, and in the trunk. thanks again guys cant wait to hear some feedback.

2 10" Ported, 2 12" Sealed, or 1 15" Ported?? - 2010 ICONS

Same here. Lol. -
hmm.. i will take that information under consideration. i have alot of thinking to do. thanks for input guys.

its because im not familiar with rf that id like to try them. no not retail i know some people that are willing to sell me some of their stuff. budget on sub(s) is like $350 at most. thats excluding box and amp. my income is coming as we speak so id have to save up to get these things, so im purchasing them one by one. im in the process of purchasing a sax100.4 maybe.. my available space is my trunk lol im willing to use the entire trunk, idk the measurements but i know its enough room for any of the above mentioned combination of subs.

I'm looking to upgrade my speaker system. For the front stage I'm getting the Rockford fosgate 6.5" t1 series component speakers and powering them about 100 rms to each side. For the rear stage I would like to run two sets of coaxials (cone area ftw) I'm thinking the Rockford fosgate p1 series coaxials. But idk which would be better, 6.5's or 6x9's They'd be right beside each other along my side panels in the backseat (yes some modifications will be done) and I'd run a set per channel because they are 40-50rms each so one set is around 100rms. Wi be powered by my kicker 350.4 (maybe eventually sundown 100.4 or rf p400.4) But this is just an idea of mine. If anyone has better suggestions or opinions please feel free to post. Thanks guys I'd like more opinions on this idea!

What would you choose? 6.5's or 6 x 9's
Angelboy863 replied to Angelboy863's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I like rear fill. I want my car to have great sound from all around. I haven't even installed any kind of sound dampening and I believe it is necessary in a 96 civic. I should probably post this in another thread and will but recommendations for sound dampening in doors? -

Angelboy863 replied to Angelboy863's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
What component set do you recommend for my front stage? I like the rf t series speakers, my friend has them in his car and they sound excellent and are exceptionally loud. I wouldn't wanna spend over $200 for a front stage, overall budget of speakers is around $400. Now I'm thinking sound quality if the best route for loudness is in fact pa/super tweets/horns. All my buddies either have horns or super tweeters but lack that sound quality, I have the chance to have something for myself here lol. What do you guys think of Rf t series components in the front and rear? 6.5's in front, 6x9's in back? -

Angelboy863 replied to Angelboy863's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Haha well then what I'd like more is loudness. The only reason I want two sets of speakers is for that extra cone area and output. -

Both. I want good sound, and as much output as I can. I'm aiming to be loud and have quality sound at the same time. -

I didn't know what category would fit sorry if this is in the wrong section. This guy on ebay is selling a skar audio sk 1500.1 for $61.00 shipped. Idk if its a scam or not, he claims he needs money for college. Should I jump on the deal? lol. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SKAR-Audio-SK-1500-1-Class-D-1680W-1-Ohm-Mono-Block-Amplifier-BRAND-NEW-/300674164552?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item460193a748
