    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

If I don't have to worry, should I just buy a 24mm 2.8 and call it a day? Should allow me to get the camera close enough to not crowd the room

Canon released their EOS webcam utility sometime last year I believe. https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/self-help-center/eos-webcam-utility. Should I be worried about a couple hours of my 60D doing that per day? I thought I may really be stressing the sensor.

My buddy let me borrow his Logitech C922 Pro, which is considered a pretty good web cam. I set up my Canon 60D with a 50mm 1.4 and the difference, even in Zoom, is incredible. Depending on how long I'm on calls (which will be a lot) I'm worried I would burn out the 60D. The 50 looks great but has to be placed too far back in the office to be utilized full time, so I'm looking at something more like a 22/24 mm. I'll have to sacrifice some of that sweet sweet bokeh, but it is what it is. Also, I have to really light up my space to get great results on the webcam. On the DSLR I can only have my desk lamp, and natural light from a window and be just fine.

Oh man, that really sucks. The wife went through COVID, while not a 10 year old I can share a bit of my experience and perspective. In short: eat normal healthy foods, get good sleep and encourage him to play/move as much as he feels good (promoting heavy breathing will help him). Ideas would be kicking a soccer ball back and forth, playing catch, etc. If you have a room that has a door to the outside that would be a good "quarantive" room as it would allow him to go outside. I think the psychological stress of quarantine can create the most havoc. Vitamin and D3 were recommended by a doctor when my wife got COVID. Honestly, if it was me, I would probably just take on the risk in order to comfort him (hugs for sure, cuddling, etc.), if he feels bad. Our story: The wife got COVID; had it for 2 nights before she got tested. None of us were vaccinated. Our little one was still breast feeding. My wife continued to breast feed. She stayed in our bedroom and I slept in our guest room and took care of the kids at night (including the breastfeeding baby). After 2 days of laying around she was more tired from laying around then the symptoms. so she started moving around a lot more and started to feel better much faster. After about 3 days we gave up on quarantining and just kept some relative distance in the house. I developed the same symptoms as her at one point, but 6 tests in 4 days all came back negative. The other little one never felt bad and we never tested her. Praying for a short, low symptom response and a quick recovery for your little one!

So, in true IHOP fashion, I'm considering selling my DSLR for a mirrorless to use a primary camera for zoom at my new remote job. Talk me into jumping off the ledge?

Next car I'll get delivered to a dealership near you, fly in and then drove it home?

Thanks Nem, Talked to one guy on the phone. He seemed very knowledgeable. Said he's certified to use ceramic pro and a couple others but he much prefers using Fenylabs. Quoted me $1350 to do cleaning, polishing and ceramic. This is on a brand new vehicle. He claims it's a 5 year coating and should only need washing with a slippery soap and good rags.

Got the Powerstops on the front of the truck. Stops great and no more rotor wobble. Thanks @Tirefryr

Speaking of ultimate grocery getter. Pee paw decided on a Bronco Sport. All he needs and low enough to get into. Took it in the shorts on trade in, but got rid of that wrecked truck that I felt was a ticking time bomb. Drove a Bronco today. If my wife would decide she doesn't want more kids, we'd order one for late 2022.

F-150 5.0 STX. Add the twinsies and then put whatever suspension you want on it.

I would be in the same boat, trying to get out of a more expensive highly sought after vehicle (the Ford dealership was salivating over a low mileage 4x4 4 door lariat). Honestly, trying to get it out of my hands while people are willing to pay for even if it's previously wrecked. Get us into something easier to get into at a reduced price. Would be willing to pay for something more fun or cool. What I really want to do is find him a good condition 68 Firebird (his favorite car) but that's really unpractical lol.

Ended up ordering the front kit from Stage 3 motorsports. Rock auto wanted $44 for shipping on top of a higher price. Trying to not order from Amazon where possible so Stage 3 got the biz.

Either brand new or used. Not really brand loyal.

Sean, Ryan, Matt et al. Need to get pops truck sold (previously wrecked otherwise I'd keep it). Want to get him into a vehicle that you don't have to sit down into, but also don't have to step up into. Bonus for something "fun" (looks cool). Wanted to get him into a Bronco Sport because while it's an Escape in a different shell, it looks cool and will probably stay popular enough. Dad got randomly stuck on the fact that it doesn't have a powered rear hatch (which he would never use) so out it went. Budget is probably no more than 35k. I assume this puts us in a "meh" SUV but would love to see what you guys come up with..

I know I've asked in the past and am too lazy to look. What replacement brakes do you guys recommend for a truck/f150? I do tow near max capacity with it.

I always think it's worth interviewing. Sometimes you get to interviewing and you realize it's not at all what you think it is but way better. Sometimes it's just worth talking yourself up for a bit or getting some leverage on a current employer. I may post on a similar topic in the RTMS

I will say this is one of the ugliest front ends of a car I've seen in a while.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Wanted to float out a vehicle situation for you guys and see what ideas you may have. Dad has a 2018 Lariat 4d 4wd F150 with 12k miles. Owes $24K (0% interest). Only downside is it was in a front end collision that caused $20k damage. We've driven it for 8k since the wreck and it drives flawlessly but the auto start-stop doesn't work (took it to the dealer once). Dad doesn't need the truck, he doesn't drive but his caregivers drive him and some are not comfortable with a big truck. It would be great for him to have something smaller and easier to get in an out of. I have a 2012 Lariat 4d 2wd F150 with 150k. Owe nothing. Dad would sell me the truck for a deal and I would love 4wd (I learned my lesson) but I can't bring myself to it for some reason. The other question is what would my dad get after. He mentioned a bronco sport but they are practically non existent. Camping at this point but any suggestions? Money isn't really an object for dad if he convinces himself to part with it.

It's funny, a lot of people want to buy the car that no one else has. I want to buy the car that everyone else has so when it breaks, there is a huge aftermarket to take care of me.
