    Sundown Audio SD-1 "Blowout" Sale

How do you think 2 of these 12's ported would match up against 1 Maw 12 or a similar ~300 watt sub. Both setups seeing 350 Watts and tuned nice and low. I have a friend that wants to run 2 12's but I advised against it with only 350 Watts but these subs might be the ticket! Would the extra cone area with these higher sensitive speakers give me more output while retaining good sq? thanks

    Welcome to the IHoP

I can't seem to get my damn l7 box finished so I got a replacement until then... I seem to always come across free old gear that someone can't build a box for. My L7's came in .8 sealed box (atleast it was 3/4 MDF) and now I got 2 planet audio 15's in 1.2 cubes sealed a piece with 1/2 MDF lmao atleast the box has "bracing" in the middle with the divider. Soon I'll be building an enclosure for this sweet lil thing

    Quick Port Question

I've got some other related questions too and instead of making a new thread I'll just ask here. What is the effect of having port firing sideways and sub firing foward?

    SPL Box

I'm looking to build a nice ported box for my L7 and make it loud. Problem is I really don't know much about ported boxes or the tricks to making a good SPL box. Kicker reccomends between 1.75 and 3.25 cu ft ported, but no tuning frequencys. The box will be sitting in the back seat of my 1990 extended cab Silverado. What would be differences between a round port and slot port, and what would be an optimal Frequency to tune it at. thanks for any advice, hopefully I can pull my ol' truck into s comp and put up some decent numbers

    first system

Foor Goodness sakes please stop Quoting over and over. If I wanted to re read everything I would have scrolled up On Topic: 00 Mustang what are you goals for the vehicle. If your looking for sq two 8's or one 10 or one twelve may be the ticket If your looking for SPL fitting the most surface area of sub in a ported box with adequate airspace is sufficient

    SPL Box

Do you mind pointing me to a site where I can read more about Resonant Frequency and even SPL in General. I'm trying to making a decent SPL box but I feel my questions are very open ended because I don't know enough about it. Is there any general information I can start with and work from there? do bigger boxes generally put out better numbers? What is a base frequency to start at and work up from?

    Welcome to the IHoP

Sup everyone, finally got a lil break from school so me and a bud fabbed up this for his truck. Its sells as a Louisiana Gaurd Dog. Its designed to hook to your four wheeler with your tail gate down and hold it in place. we added an extra hitch so you have the option of having the basket on or off. Best of all it only cost about 20 dollars for the extra reciever and pins the rest of the material, including the basket, was free.

    SPL Box

Yeah I'd like to know that too. I have a 1990 Chevy Silverado Extended cab, is there anyway I can find this out mathmaticely or is it something I have to test?

    Welcome to the IHoP

Got me a lil present from KnuKonceptz today. So I wired up my L7 in a sealed enclosure with not enough air but it sure beats nothing and it is my first sub for real I guess. I had some real fun doing all the wiring today. Pics to follow...

    Low Budget Substage

Since I got some time and a little money (very little) on my hands I really want to start tinkering with something so I am going to add a substage to my truck. First off my goals are to add a substage to take some pressure off the front stage and overall, make my system better sounding. I plan on running a Mach 5 MAW-10 with a Rockford Fosgate P325.1 amp in a sealed box (up or downfire) in an extended cab. I have set my budget at 220 dollars for everything including box supplies, distribution blocks, and extra wire. The budget really may be hard to not break but its all I can afford for a while. I saw a MAW-10 used for $40, shipped on the forums here but noticed the thread dated back to April and the user, toolfan91, hasn't logged on since May 3rd, so that may not work out. The looks of getting one new from Mach5 looks to be over 80 after shipping is included. I can find a P325.1 for around 125 on Ebay but wouldn't mind using something different or used especially if I can get it cheaper Dristribution Blocks and such I plan on using knukoncepts for. As far as the box is concerned do you guys prefer upfire or downfire? Also w/ the distribution blocks do I really need the power block with fuses in it? You don't use a fuse with a single amp I don't see why you really need it with two amps, but maybe I'm missing something. Thanks for the help
