take off your radiator cap and inspect the gasket in it, if its damaged then the cooling system wont hold pressure. its not much to replace the cap either, maybe like 10 bucks. Water pumps on cars dont build pressure, they just create flow, pressure comes from the system being sealed and the coolant heating up. most cases like yours, its either radiator cap issues or something of that nature. lmk if this fixes the prob. and great job on the build. That shit sounded great the other day, was damn loud too

It seems as if your MAF sensor had malfunctioned but this would have thrown a engine light(most of the time it does anyway). What model vehicle would help, along with what engine. Also it could be IAC like you said, but im leaning more towards the MAF sensor because my scion did the same when it malfunctioned on me. Would idle really low and getting going was a bitch. It doesnt seem like any electrical problem would cause this because if your car is EFI then idle control is mostly ran by on board computers and sensors. So my best guess would be that your MAF malfunctioned. Also after all of that i would inspect all of your spark plugs. When it did it to mine it fried all my spark plugs(because i had to drive it 30 mins to get home.) check to make sure all intake hoses are clamped into place properly and that your MAF sensor is plugged in all the way. but thats best case scenario for that prob, worst that could be prob is your fuel pump took a shit on you.

Well, got my xcon 12's ordered. now to play the dreaded waiting game.

I run two of the D3100's on 5k with a stock alt and don't drop below 13v myself either. I would look into used batteries more specifically Deka Intimidators which can be had a very low cost and are great batteries. I would not put a larger battery up front unless there are space limitations in the back, not a huge reason to in the first place. I myself know many people who don't even run front batteries. yah thats the thing, there is damn near no space in the back once the box is in. so i would think upping the front and putting one in the back would be good, or would jus one d3400 suffice. an ill look into odyssey Depending how much power you are running I would attempt to fit the largest you can upfront, modifying the battery try may help too. Do you have a spare tire well? I used to put my batteries down there and would leave my spare out. measure your battery tray a few different ways to see if you could lay it sideways to fit a larger battery and then extend your cables from your wiring harness to fit it's new position. as far as i can see, modding the battery tray looks to be impossible. but there is enough space there for a d3400 or similar sized battery. and the tire well is taken, to fit a box in the back that was 5ft^3 while keeping rear seats i have to take everything out of the tire well and sit the box down in it. and there may be enough space beside it to fit one battery, 2 in the back would be a squeeze and idk if it would even be possible. edit: oh and i would be running 2400rms at first but would be adding an amp for front an rear, an i would also like to have the spare power to add another 2400 in the future.(but thats a ways off)

You always want the fuse as close to the battery as possible. There's no reason to fuse near the amp, the fuse near the battery will protect the rest of the circuit (wire and amp). The underhood fuse near the battery will double as the external fusing for the amplifier. Choose the fuse size accordingly. ok, thanks

Ok so i have a brz2400 that is rated to do 2400rms at 1 ohm. my question is about the fusing of the amp, it has no internal fuses, jus the one under the hood for the power wire. so with that said, would it be required to externally fuse the amp? and how would i go about doing this? what would be the correct size fuses? how many? where to put them? etc........ also what would be a good fuse to put under the hood for the amp power cable? there is a 150 in the holder right now and it is zero gauge cable, is that good enough? if not, what would be a recommended size for that with my amp? i am building my system for 2 12 xcons in my tc and i want to do it right the first time so i wont have problems later on. yah i have to gut the whole hatch/trunk of my car to bet a box big enough for em to fit in the tc. an even after that idk if i have the space for extra batts. probably jus gonna have to go wit jus the alt and a xs batt or sumtin under the hood

Yeah, that's the way I do it. If the stock alt charges both batts fine and your not droppin below 12-12.5 full tilt then eff the HO alt imo. ill probably still do the alt upgrade eventually, im wanting to get another brz2400 in the future(after i finish front an rear stage), then i could run 1700 rms to each sub. idk if jus batts could handle that.

yah doing xcons instead--2 12's space in the trunk wouldnt allow for 2 15's i got the box built, holes from screws are filled and im sanding it down tomorrow to prep for carpet. will be black carpet and a flourescent green port. i have to go buy batts for my camera to take pics so i will do that tomorrow morning. then will have PICS. oh and i will be ordering the xcons soon -- hopefully tomorrow, then will probably get them late jan. that will give me time to get the amp rack and stuff built, carpeted, an looking nice.

kool thanks man, and i saw your build thread. those 18's looked great in there. im actually wanting to up to 4 15" icons or xcon walled off once i get out of high school. oh and i do have a question actually as you could see, i am upping my front and rear stage, i am gettin the adapter for the front, so will i need them for the rear? i know that the part holding the speaker in looks very similar to the front but am not sure if id need adapters or not to put 5 1/4's in. Nick.
