    Need Recommendation Replacing Factory Sub

It is and have looked at that but its so big in the back I think it will not fit the contours of my enclosure if you look on the left I have a thing sticking out on the box I will need a traditional sub nothing to crazy. I would LOVE to install the SD big fan of that sub. Also on top it swoops down. I have dremmeled this out since picture but the basic structure behind is still there and will give me issues if the sub has to big of a magnet.

    Need Recommendation Replacing Factory Sub

I dont care about that driver at all thanks for the info though. I want the best sub I can get under 5" mounting depth around 400-600 RMS power handling. I do remember now the past talk about the skar owner. What is up with these NVX are they decent? If at all possible I would like to stay away from shallow mount subs they look like they have less throw or XMAX. But what do I know (not much). Just looks like I can get a better bang for my buck on a traditional sub. http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/products/nvx-vsw102v2-500w-10-dual-2-ohm-car-subwoofer.html Oh and Thanks for all the help guys. Much Appreciated.

Is Skar Audio Decent? How would this compare to the JL sub? https://www.skaraudio.com/collections/vd-series/products/vd-10?variant=17690910721

    Need Recommendation Replacing Factory Sub

So the JL did not fit as it was to wide and hit on some areas of the enclosure. However a JL-W1 fit just fine. I am concerned about this sub as its max RMS is 300 and my amp is 600 in 4 or 600 in 2 ohm on the PDX600. I would like to find a woofer that can deliver the best punch for the money. The JL-W1 is 4.6" mounting depth and I could buy another 3/4" by using a mounting plate which I am leaning towards as it will give me a good area to mount to as well. I know this W1 woofer is tapered more and that I will need as the contors of the box will limit my depth. So again reaching out for recommendations on a 5" mount depth sub around 400-600 RMS. Also should I worry about 600 vs 300 sub I do think it voids the warranty. I also thing 200 can get me a lot more sub else ware.
  7. Hello all. Need some assistance. I have a 2011 Lexus GX 460 with Mark Levinson sound system. The system sounds great except for the sub.I have pulled off the back panel and reveled that the factory was a 10" sub. I currently own a Alpine PDX 600.1 I will put that behind the panel and will replace the sub run a LOC. I checked the factory sub and it was 8 ohm surprisingly but know if I replace and wire up a replacement sub it will not give me what I am looking for. I previously had my PDX 600.1 running a JL Audio 10-3v3 it does not fit its around 6" mount depth. That sub in a small sealed box rocked and am looking for something similar in the factory location. I might experiment with some poly fill in the factory plastic enclosure. So to my question. Recommendation: Need 10" Sub my mounting depth is anywhere between 3.5 to 4". I might be able to swing another .75 with MDF Spacer. I was looking at Jl Audio 10tw3-d4 Shallow-mount 10 but wondering if there are better options. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13610TW3/JL-Audio-10TW3-D4.html

Finding an Fi Sub for me.

After reviewing the power handling on the Q think I better stick with the X think I am going to go with a 15" Fi X sealed 2.0 box with poly fill should sound good.

Finding an Fi Sub for me.

I have looked at the Gcon. Do you believe this to be a better or equal contender to the X? They look similar in design and spec. The Alpine PDX has been a great amp has better power efficiency that most.

Finding an Fi Sub for me.

I have a alpine pdx600.1 and was inquiring on a 15 inch sealed sub box for this I currently have a JL 10w3 but want more bass but not at the cost of clarity. I have listened to 15's that sound great and I think going to a crafted sub I can achieve this. I have looked at the X series but like the Q's and not sure if my amp can handle the Q series subs. Any other recommendations are welcome.

    Stl weekender / daily

Hello all from Saint Louis. So a little bit about me. My father owned and operated a local car audio store in my area for over 15 years so I lived my teenage years working in car audio which was great now looking for some subs with a little education behind it. I am big on the Lotus and Miata forums I have an 06 Elise and a 99 V8 Twin Turbo Miata (Nuts I know). I just recently picked up a 2010 Nissan Cube as a daily. I am wanting to put a couple of 12's in the trunk as I like to listen to Drum and Bass and rock. I currently have picked up some Boston SE65 and SE60's I purchased these with the intent of getting a pair of 12" Boston G2's. As the place that I ordered from confidently was out of stock for two weeks I started looking around for other subs. I previously have owned JL's W3's and like the subs but since I am currently on a budget for this build I decided to keep the price around 120 or less for a pair of subs. Now the tricky part is I wanted of course Sound Q as I am 34 now and enjoy my music and not just blaring sound into my face but still like to get a little rattle everyone now and then. I was recommended to check out the SSA DCON's, after looking around the internet and forums I have found people that love these and are crazy about them. So think I will pick up a set. I will also be running these on an Alpine PDX600.1. From what I hear sound Q is nice and SPL is good as well. I am personally not crazy about the look I wish they had the look of the Icons but with my power range I need to stick with these. I will probably take the car to a few shows as well on the weekends with friends as I am in a local Exotics club and if don't feel like taking the other cars out then this one will still be nice. I have been holding off on the purchase to see if free shipping would show up or a slight discount on ordering the subs quite yet. Quick question does anyone know of any speaker grills that might hide the subs a bit also will be up firing theses subs and might want to put a few groceries in the back from time to time. Look forward to any recommendations or ideas on this new project and as new projects go they rarely get completed only build upon.
