So what I did, since with the one ten I knew there would be plenty, I planned on a storage box on one end. When I was ready to put the wall in for that I had measured out packing peanuts and used them to decide where the sub part of the box ended.

I scanned through, didn't see the answer. What do you drive? A seat lift can be done relatively cheap and you can make your own box. If you look at my old build thread for my crew cab Silverado, I got some heavy ass C channel to lift the seats, built my own box and fit an Icon 10 in there ported. It hit HARD

Raising the seats was the worst thing i had to do to make my box. Awesome that you get to bring it back down!

glad to see you working on the silverado again. nice equipment! interested in seeing your enclosure. Makes me wonder if i could have gone that route.

Does your pioneer allow you to hook up an ipod or iphone? Fiberglass a dock in that bad boy!

It was the starter fuse though. nothing to do with the aftermarket stuff I did. Thats why i thought the bass, hadnt thought about engine vibe and road conditions over time. Probably that and just coincidental that i had been listening to it loud that day.

So I was driving down to the grocery store the other day and decided to throw the bass nectar station on pandora and turned it up a bit. I have one 10inch Icon on 1200w in my crew cab silverado. I go to leave the store and the truck womt start. So i start checking fuses. I find one fuse in the box is kind of half out. Push it back in and problem solved. The only thing i can think is the bass vibrated it out. Possible? Anyone else have it happen? Fuse box is in the engine bay.

I was going to copy and paste from my thread on a gm trucks forum as this build started back in january but theres a lot of unneeded stuff in there. I went back and forth alot about what i was going to do and how. This system started because i had the typical driver side front speaker failure. I was going to merely replace all the factory speakers and run the amp off high level inputs from the stock head unit...boy did that change. My on experience in car audio previous to this was my 1991 jimmy when i was 16. It involved a head unit, simple speaker replacements using factory wires and two 12 inch mtx thunder 3000 (i think) subs in a bandpass box i bought at the pawn shop, powered by a pyramid amp i also bought at the pawn shop. I actually won third place in a local spl comp with it. However i knew nothing about what i was doing. Fast forward to now, tired of running stock stereos, i decided to dive back in. But i researched ALOT first, and still had more to learn. In the end i have this list of upgrades Headunit - Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD (currently unable to recieve video playback from my iphone, trying to work on this) Front speakers - JL c2-650 components Rear Speakers - JL C2-650x Coax Amp- JL JX-360/4 Sub- SSA ICON 10 wired to 1ohm Amp - Sundown SAX-1200D Battery - Optima Yellow Top (need another, maybe an alternator to, but funds are low) Sound Deadening from SDS doors got full treatment and i did the back floor, back wall and still need to do the roof with cld tiles Wireing - Mostly KNU Konceptz First Heres the Truck. Which has been mostly blacked out, lifted and leveled for a total of 3.5 in the front and 2 in the rear, new wheels and tires, flowmaster super 40 muffler and k&n FIPK. So i started by recieving this for Xmas last year. (well the speakers and amp anyways, the rest i got) The First thing i did was hack off the stock battery cable ends and hook up the optima. Then i decided to order more because i dove into this. I had to keep my XM radio so the add on for that is there, along with the PAC unit to mate this all to my factory wiring and onstar. Which i still need to put the speaker in for so i can hear it. Note to self, pick up a cheap speaker. Also the preamp output cables are there as well. After finding my front seat bolts were a different bolt i bought this handy tool set which became invaluable throughout this process. Later I will have bought a Torx head set as well. I started a very long weekend with this (was a short friday night of work)

Small update. Got the center console back in with a small change to it. I ran the usb/aux wires through it. They enter from the passenger side into the top console. The pioneer cable connects there and feeds through the console and out to the center cup holder. I ordered a holder calle the "hercules holder" to go in the cup holder for the phone. Hopefully it works out ok. I gave up on the video from iphone to dash... I mean do i really need to watch you tube on my dash? Also i wanted to add a triple cigarette lightwr outlet inside the top console but when i had it app apart there really wasnt room. So i reassembled it and ill use it when i need it out of the bottom console. I still have not completed the rear door deadening or carpeted the sub box. I was going to CLD tile the roof but theres no rattles and i hear nothing outside the truck, even turned up higher than i listen to it normally. So im in no hurry for that.

i toyed with the carputer idea for a bit but it gets PRETTY involved if you want good sound output. or i just didnt read the right stuff. i settled on my ipod for now as well as maybe upgrading to a larger one. does the unit you listed first have the ability to use a ssd at all times to play audio/video? so you could just get a 120 or 240 gb ssd and hook it up through usb?

back when i had my camaro, i had one as a beater basically for when i wasnt comfortable driving the camaro. but i dumped all my cash into the camaro so nothing when into it. I always thought it had plenty of room for something mean though! Just a 4inch lift and 33's and the thing was huge!

I used their optimal ported enclosure specs for my ICON 10 and am very pleased.

I got a few, doesnt bother me any, however i do wish i coulda jumped on those sundown neopros. I get emails with every reply to threads i subscribed to. made a folder for truck related stuff and most of my forum stuff goes there. its really not that much of a hassle.... First world problems.
