i suck with fiberglassing but i do plan on getting bucket seats soon. that way i can have a freed up center area, and might have someone make me a sealed fiberglass enclosure for the sub. if not...

    sad sad day for me

well actually it's a good day but also sad. a few days ago i got a 1999 s10 xtreme standard cab with bagssss baby! that's the good news. the bad news is i have no way of fitting my 15" d2 in my truck. it's a standard cab with bench seats. in my blazer, i had that baby in a 4ft^3 box ported to 32hz and it was crazy nice. i don't really wanna make a blow through in this truck because it has only 35,000 miles and it's in mint condition. the frame wasn't c-notched for the bags or anything (sadly i don't lay frame...yet). so yeah. umm...is there anyone who has fit a 15" in a standard cab truck without creating a blow through and without having my steering wheel at my knees with the seat pushed forward 39875 feet? ahh. if im forced to sell the d2 and purchase re8's, im going to cry. included is a pic of my truck!

    IN SHOCK....

this is just crazy. stereo integrity is such a good company. i bought my first ever monster sub, a 15" d2, from them, and have been very satisfied with it. i don't understand how anyone could do this to such a small business. i mean, it's like burning a cd from a small underground band and burning a cd from metallica. if someone stole from jl, it wouldn't be such a travesty because they can get right back on their feet. but to steal from si is sickening. if there's anything i can do to help, please let me know. the $350 i spent on my d2 has been the best i ever spent. good luck with everything.

    Magnum 12" porn

..wow...couldn't that much excursion damage the sub?! and i thought i had my 15" moving a lot, jesus.

    full excursion

i have a question... on my amp now (power acoustik pos..980 watts at 4 ohms supposedly), i have the level all the way up...and the magnum gets crazy loud. i dont have any bass boost on, just the main power gain set all the way up. im scared that if i turn my headunit up too loud (bass on 0), i would damage the sub. i doubt i could do that with the amp, but i look at the sub and it moves like crazy (i highly doubt its a full excursion). now, my bigger question is...how much louder would it get with a hx1500d?! it's so loud already...can it possibly get louder with a better amp? and could that possibly blow it? im a newbie and confused about knowing the full excursion and blowing it up...word.
  6. new amp will be a hifonics bx1500d...w00t!
  7. yeah..the box was made by fine custom works, and is 4 ft^3, tuned to 32 hz. i didn't take any excursion porn pictures...im still only running it with a crappy power acoustik 900 watt amp with the gains turned down low, but it still gets so loud and stays so clean. my old subs (don't laugh, audiobahns) sounded like crap compared to this. when i'd turn them loud, i'd hear popping and it sounded terrible. these sound so much better. im surprised at how good the sq is on this 15"...i always heard that 15"s were a little sloppier than 12"s, but they definately are not like that at all.

    Pics of new Mag 12's

i assume the recently ordered 15"s will be sent out tomorrow or thursday since the 12" is? i'm too anxious to get my sub...i can't freakin wait! aiufdsifidsh <--me being excited
  12. haha, you guys are makin a newbie like me feel smart for once in my life. i think my first smart choice was ditching my (don't laugh) audiobahn subs and buyin a d2! so i won't have to worry about my subs getting too hot and blowing because of the 1500 watts? thanks for all the help, you guys really put stuff into perspective.
  13. yeah, i finally made enough money to order the 15" d2 yesterday. thank god for ebay. anyways, my original plan was to power it with a hifonics brutus 1500 watt amp. id wire the sub to one ohm and get the 1500 watts. then, as i was reading this forum, i saw that other topic about putting 1500 watts to the sub, and how it was said that 1500 is quite a lot. my question is...should i continue with this amp and just set the gains down lower? or should i downgrade to the brutus 1000d amp? this will be a daily driver...so yeah. next question. my box. im lookin for probably 60% spl, 40% sq. so i was thinking about a 4ft^3 ported enclosure, tuned to 32hz. would this sound okay for my needs? i can accomodate a larger box...so, should i possibly go for a larger box and keep the tuning the same? or would the 4ft^3 tuned @ 32hz be sufficient? thanks for the help. i was extremely pleased with the time it took nick to respond to my emails and my payments. great customer service...so instead of emailing nick yet again with stupid questions, i figured id ask the forum patrons. thanks.
