    Help with 18" Box

Never herd of anyone using 45's and getting lower scores... The reason I thought you could get much higher cause I've seen 2 dreadnought 12's in a rear firing trunk build on 1200 watts hit 144's for a 30 second run sealed. Starting at a 145

    Help with 18" Box

Only thing I gave that was speculation possibly is his 141 score. With some adjustments to his box, and improvements... (assuming he doesn't get a design from pwk and only does some 45's, smoothing, port flaring, reinforcing possibly... That I believe he could gain multiple DB. The only part that's speculation is the number I gave being 145 db... Which is totally possible. 3 DB isn't that hard to gain on an unrefined set up. There is no doubt in my mind that he could gain an impressive amount of DB just by making slight refinements and improvements to his existing set up. Is everything inside that box as smooth as glass? I'd guess not... Are all the corners 45'd and then rounded smooth on top of that? I didn't read that he did that... Is his port flared at all? Or are the corners of the port even sanded to be not square? Again I didn't notice that... Did he do round overs inside the box ? Has he tried to play it full tilt and locate any external box flexing and reinforce those weaker spots? Even If he did do all of these things it's better then what you guys offered. I've seen more posts saying negative unhelpful things rather then advise and suggestions. Go a head and reply with whatever. He will read this and maybe check / try some of my suggestions and I can't wait to see his new score

    Help with 18" Box

You speak on ill-informed knowledge and speculation. What's ill-informed? Lol should I even start to reply? There is no speculation... Pete actually does all of those calculations and models to test output, and there is nothing ill-informed because his results speak for themselves. Guys who ask him for a box design and get one from him... Then question it are always wrong. One guy placed an order, gave all his info to Pete... And Pete came back with a sealed box that would give him maximum output in his situation with his equipment... Needless to say he didn't believe "Pete's mumbo jumbo" and proceeded to try over 6 different box designs to find out non of them even came close to the frequency response and the output of his box. So the guy paid Pete.. Thought he was full of crap... Build 6 other boxes wasting idk how much money and time... Just to find out Pete was actually right and he just doesn't make up numbers like some people think. Who is I'll-informed? Well I doubt its me on this topic.

    Neo Pro 6.5 Review?

Pro audio means you just need to be loud as shit to hear it over your bass. If you don't have 8k- 30k of bass then stick to good components

For SQ and high budget check out focal, beyma, and morel Those will give you the perfect sound your looking for as that's what they as a company shoot for. As for myself I choose Rockford fosgate T (their top of the line category) components. Because after looking at those other brands they were just a bit too much into crazy SQ and I wanted more loudness but still some smooth warm speakers with out getting into pro audio speakers. <--- crazy loud no SQ... If you want F*#ki&G loud mids and highs and you just wanna hear blistering sounds enough to cut through your ungodly about of bass then check out pro audio from places like Rockford fosgate, Mmats, American bass, and if you have a super budget check out selenium and crescendo. Mind you fosgate Mmats and American bass all have non pro audio lines that sound great too, they are more like a hybrid of trying to reach loud and sounding good. Where as morel is all about sounding perfect with loudness as a last priority, and any companies pro audio is basically saying idc about the quality of my sounds I just need to hear the sounds over my 10 18" woofers so I can still hear the song.

    Help with 18" Box

Not hating since I don't even have my system built yet... But I got my Box designed by Pete at PWK and he used 45's in all the corners, .385 round overs when the sound had to go in a U shape... And he even went as far as to make the double baffle act as an additional 45 at the mouth of the port. I'm sure everyone here has some good points but his design is one of the best designs I've seen (in my instance) and all of those little things that he does could bring you well into the 45 range..... Or just send him 50$ and wait a week.. He promises your box will be the best one possible for maximum (spl or loudness depending on which path you choose) output in YOUR vehicle with YOUR current equipment. Shout out for all the guys that helped him, you guys are awesome. Only reason I'd say PWK over most other people is he does artificial output testing of many different box types with your equipment in your vehicle... And then when he finds the best box type he plays with all the variables, not even leaving the woofer placement to chance. Again guys on SSA ae freakin awesome, I'm just giving credit where credit is due. If there is anything besides box design, the guys on SSA are beasts, but when you have someone as smart and talented as Pete, with such a great service for only 50$... Why would you leave your box to chance. I didn't.... And I know when I finally get mine together it will be crazy.

It depends on what you want. Some guys I know just want screaming volume, some people want to spend oodles of money finding mids that sound super smooth and warm...... Concert sounds is a general statement.... Rap concert? Heavy metal concert? Classic rock concert? Budget? Deadener? Amplifier on your mids? Processing helps sounds a lot, processor? Ummmmmm....

    Sound question for mr m5

Well I know everyone is gonna say some stuff about my choice of rear fill, believe me I didn't wanna pick that either but I think it will be best rather then just rely on only 2 6.5s and 2 tweeters. And I'm gonna have a shit ton of bass for a trunk build in that little car and I think those power 6x9s would be best, I deff need something else or my rear passengers won't hear anything but BOOOOOOOOOOM. I'll just give them less power so the people in back can have some words during their BASS massage. As far as active.. I kinda need to learn more about it. I was just hoping the processing power of the HU and the cross overs set in the speakers along with my amps cross overs would handle it. Again I don't know about active and passive enough to talk about it so I prob sound like an idiot right now. If you care to educate, I promise I'll read it all though on any comments for rear fill / how to do active / tweeter location for the front components

Tell me what you would like to know? I gave almost a complete list of all my choices on product I'll re post it and tell me what you think I'm missing

    Sound question for mr m5

Thanks mr m5, so your an A pillar fan for tweeters? Where is a good location to mount them? I'll obviously play with the exact location but based on your guys's guide lines I will find the best location for my particular set up. This speaker location thing seems to be a bigger headache then working for the actual money lol. But I'm already 1/4 the way there... No stopping now
  12. Swordlordboy1234

    Sound question for mr m5

I'd like to mount them in the stock location in the dash faceing up to keep it looking 100% stock but if it will sound like ass bouncing off the glass because of "your reason here" then I'll think of another place and I'm open to suggestions. A pillars maybe, again I'm not saying I won't do anything.. My goal is for someone to get in my car and think "it's just a stock accord with a head unit" but then I fold down my back seats to reveal the subs and I turn up the deck to reveal its not stock. Get what I'm saying? So the A pillars is one suggestion... How high are you thinking? I'm open to suggestions? Just to be clear I shouldn't mount tweeters lower in doors right?
  13. Swordlordboy1234

    Sound question for mr m5

No I am talking about my 96 accord in the front it has tweeters mounted up, and the woofers in the door normal location. I'm asking this to try to "take away" some SQ aspects into my own build. I am NOT an SQ guy, and I enjoy ground pounders much more. But I respect all forms of our hobby and I believe SQ has a lot of valid things that I can incorporate into my system. The reason I'm asking is because my goal is to keep everything looking stock, but I'm gonna have all Rockford fosgate T components, and Xcon 12's on 4 k watts. My question is getting to the point... Is it better to use the front stock tweeter locations for "this SQ reason" or would it be better to mount them in a different location. I'm trying to create a sleeper system to avoid looking flashy and can all be hidden that can impress my audio file aunt with pink Floyd, and keep me satisfied with my need for stupid loud bass that can float objects. (yes I realize you can't have the perfect of both worlds but I'm hoping to get a good mix) Since I know you guys will ask... Pioneer DEH 80 prs 1 set of RF T2652 components in the front 1 set of RF T1693 in the rear deck 1 RF T600-4 PWK design box in a semi wall (sealed off from trunk) housing 2 SSA Xcon 12's on a a crescendo 3500. 2 runs of 1/0 to a xs power battery bank (2 2400's) 1 2400 up front, dc power 270 xp alternator, second skin dsmplifier pro (80 foot pack)

    Sound question for mr m5

In another post you mentioned something about bouncing sound off the windshield is bad. But when I spoke to "a famous sq guy" <--- his name to himself... He said bouncing your tweeters off the front windshield did a bunch of great things. Can u tell me your reasons for it being bad please? Or anyone, I just called him specificly because he mentioned It. (I didn't really listen to his BS when he told me hair tricks are dumb and anything over 1000 watts is a waste, and that subwoofers should only be used 2% of the time during your listening) <---- no subs?! Go listen to an elevator play your favorite songs guy >:-(

    Route A/C to cool amps?

Lol like I said I was too young to have any comment, I just prefer to say his story as he told it. I never said It was good info. You really think 1000- 2000 is hardly noticeable? I'd like to disagree but do I think he actually was pulling double current the amp was made for? No... And that chick thing in your signature deserves a thumbs up
