getting an anxiety attack just even thinking about trying to park something that big, for fucks sake man! Looks great.

Anyone else order a Xcon recently?

Ive ordered twice, and both took roughly 45 business days...prepare now for a wait. Best to not think about it. Worth it though!

    how strong is your box?

I have to admit, only the first picture was viewable on my screen...thought someone broke your back window trying to steal your sub. Thought you had some anti theft locking screws on it and they got fed up and said fuck it and just stole the cone. Then I scrolled down. Shit man! Thats f'd up. Didn't see that coming. Sorry that happened.

    Xcon on the way!

Loved my first Xcon, so had to buy a second...just needing to install. Be prepared to wait. Youre best just forgetting and not thinking about it. Both mine took 45 business days each, well worth the wait though. My single 15" is in a 4.8ft^3 ported enclosure @ 1400 rms, now I just need a new box to house two 15"s. Be prepared for rattles you didnt know about.

    modeling Xcon in Winisd

Hey guys, I have my second Xcon and needing new enclosure but have been debating staying ported or going back to sealed (save cargo space) Anyway, I am first time user of Winisd and not sure if I did this correct so could someone let me know if it looks ok? How do you interpret this graph? To me it looks like ported is the way to go. (I modeled using two 15" Xcons at 1000rms each) Let me know if you need any additional info about my setup...believe my SUV cabin gain peaks @ 49 Hz.

Well, I definitely have the space...its the compromise of cargo space I have to decide. All out monster ported, or sealed with room to carry shit.

Dam, you have a 15" sub on a boat? Must make for some awesome fishing trips! (Unless it scares all the fish away) When its not so cold outside, Im gonna go figure out max box dimensions for ported. Right now I guestimate 45"w X 22"d X 25"h. (But thats just guesswork)

Yeah, thats pretty much my dilema. Does it look like I used Winisd correctly? Its a fairly confusing program. 6ft^3 sealed or 8ft^3 ported...its gonna take up a lot of space either way, may as well just port it.
  9. Seeing as this is on my birthday and only two hours away, Im definitely gonna try to make this one! Thanks for the heads up.

    Pontiac G6 with 2 Ethos 18's

Ever consider a DSP? There are several out, but a RF 3sixty.3 would work well in your setup. Keep the factory HU, has 8v linedriver/converter. Gives you tons of EQ and Time alignment, which going active would be easy with your door 3 way setup and improve the sound. Brand new you could find one ~ $450 range, but have seen a few used go for $350. Sure the LC6i would work well, but for the money you get the extra features an LOC wont give you. Think long term, the upgrade bug has bitten me more times than I can count.

    Thinking of going active, suggestions?

Check out the diyma.com classified section , always a bunch of great deals...hertz comes up a lot. Other option for DSP - RF360.3 , Precision Deq.8

Terry, an new upgrades lately? Your impressions still of your new gear, now that its had time to grow on you?
  13. So I am thinking of adding another Xcon 15" (1ohm) and not sure if I should stay ported or go sealed...I have a Hifonics BRX2000.1D which currently runs my ported 15" (1ohm dvc) w/ 1400rms @ 2ohm. I don't intend to upgrade the amp as right now my stock alternator seems fine, and have no plans to upgrade alternator anytime soon...sooo... Running two subs will pretty much leave me with 1k rms for each sub...and the idea of staying ported or going sealed is keeping me awake at night! Not to mention enclosure size and design. In the back of my Santa Fe has a storage compartment which houses my amps, but I get the feeling with it being so hollow it could be echoing my bass? (or am I just imagining this?) Anyways, my plan is to remove the storage and just sit the subs on the floor of the vehicle, which allows me more space. Currently my single 15" enclosure measures roughly 35" W x 20" D x 18" H (~4.8 ft^3) ...removing the storage will give me an additional ~ 8" of height and I could go 45" wide. Currently my sub is firing back, but would like new setup to fire up. Now I still plan on keeping my amps closer to the tailgate, so my idea is subs up and possibly to fire the port forward underneath the back seats...there is a good 6" of space underneath. Now my understanding is the port is mainly for unloading purposes, correct? So Ideally I would minimize any port output with the SSF. Do you think this might affect anything accoustically being underneath the seats? This would give me the best output for 1k rms each sub, but also could go sealed as I have always liked the sealed sound. This would save space too. So Im just planning my next move, and hopefully can get a great deal on Black Friday. Any thoughts? Thanks! I appreciate the advice. If I left some needed info out of the equation let me know. - Eric edit: can I even wire two DVC 1ohm subs down to 1ohm? I read somewhere I can...but just to be sure before I go retard on this!

Thinking of adding another Xcon 15"

yes, I would be going from 1400rms @ 2 ohm to 2,000rms @ 1ohm. (In the future who knows?)Basically 1,000 rms to each sub - whether it be ported or sealed. Considering sealed mainly for space and/or lower cost for the enclosure. But if my plans allow me to have the bigger ported box and the price of the enclosure is feasible, I will gladly stay ported.

Thinking of adding another Xcon 15"

Blackfriday plus store credit = Xcon 15" ($330) for me.

I like things to be symmetrical, something about asymmetry just bugs me.

Thinking of adding another Xcon 15"

I have this ocd where I don't want to be able to see the port if I can avoid it. Also I still plan to mount the amps in a smaller section in between the sub and tailgait, could obscure any ports.

    NEED ANSWER FAST

600 rms @ 4 ohm? ...that would give 300 to each sub and the amp would be more efficient at 4 ohm than 1 ohm...worth a try? Someone correct my logic?

    NEED ANSWER FAST

What voice coil/ ohm rating are your subs? Perhaps you can wire the amp down to 2ohm, 4ohm...etc Agreed, get the more power.

Any thoughts on the port firing underneath seats?
  22. I waited about 45 business days for my Xcon. But, rest assured, they live up to expectations. Already planning on another sub, and knowing the possible wait time...still worth it. Price, performance, customer service etc Win Win Win.

Thinking of adding another Xcon 15"

yep, that's where I had read this. Thanks! http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp~Q~2~I~12 Now, to me the wiring looks like it would be easy being ported but if the subs are sealed in their own enclosure it seems would be a bit more having to run wires out to the amp, and to each other...
