Stock alt's usually are rated lower than their cold start counterpart. If you have a 136amp alternator and you decide you wanna instantly start pulling amperage with a large system at a cold start while driving then the amperage could pull potentially a little higher than 136amps sometimes. Most stock alternators have an inline fusible link so if you go over too far then you find yourself replacing the entire wire anyways, but I agree that a wire that short is almost impossible to ground out as your battery is damn near on top of your alt and would almost chance a straight run, but if I had to i'd fuse at 150-200amp.

Word, I am curious as to how these sound. This is like the 3rd time i've seen someone get these subs and they now have me intrigued enough to do a cheap 2 12" build and throw em on a couple thousand watts to see how they hold. I'll probably toss em on Craigslist and get my money back quick too.

Thanks man, That sucks about your subs. I take it all 3 are blown? Again, thats sucks. But look at it this way, you will come back louder! Yah all 3. I took the other two out and put them on the meter and they show open as well. Was definitely a sight though . I feel ALOT better blowing these than the 6 Rockford Fosgate HX2 15"s I had. No where near as much money in these subs lol

I got a chance to get a demo of this and all i can say is screw you swift and sencheezy. I knew I shoulda done my demo first! Now am all sad and shit cause I have no subs lol. For those interested I sat in swifts ride and got me a demo only to go back to my lowly Suburban and hammer my volume knob til I blew all 3 of my 18" Obsidians. This just gave me incentive to get louder though! I really like this install and it has just made me happy to know that hitting low and loud is still a possibility. Thanks bro! P.S. If you're a cheap bastard like me then you probably want to think Tenney or Singer. Both of those guys are getting a pretty decent rep here lately. I haven't dealt with Singer, but I got one of the 270's he had on Christmas special for $240 right before Christmas and I am still waiting right now. I had a feeling it would be like this and he has changed the time he said he was going to ship a couple times, but I will keep asking until I get it and hopefully all will come out ok.

I personally run 3 18" obsidians on strapped aq2200's around .7 each amp. I would recommend going the bc2k for now and maybe going another later. You will not be dissappointed as two bc2k's might just sound a little better than the 3500 because of the output of the ohm load you're running. Biggest different will be overall cost, but if you don't have the money now and have it later it will be worth it. I wanted to go bc5500 the entire time, but my aq2200 hold their own. I just recommend being prepared to back up that eletrical.

He has tinted headlights, I would have told him to go more like 5000k or 6000k just for brightness. I was definately going for brightness here. They said the 55w drains out some of the color due to the power. So like, 8k55w would look like 6k35w. Dude you have seen my 6k 35 watt ones.. This will be nutz All i can say is about damn time though. Since we aren't friends enough for you to show up for ma demo I am going to have to charge you for my help putting them in though

Don't worry though I have future plans as I don't think they can take any more power then what strapped AQ2200's can give em. I just realized that the GPI audio is in Knoxville.. I might just try my hand at some rebadged DC's lol
