    New subwoofers, or no?

That looks like it should be a great combo if you are not wanting to build your own box. It is tuned at 32hz which is quite a bit lower than most box store enclosures. I love the lower tuning but you do lose some output on the 40hz bass lines. Which is all personal preference and what kind of music you listen to.

Icons are amazing subs, Ive got a set of 15"s and they sound amazing and hit hard. The enclosure has to be adequate though
  3. Hi I bought an Incriminator Audio I 10" about a month ago from SSA as a temporary sub while my two SSA Icon 15" subs were being built and WOW. For a little 300rms 10" this thing pounds, have about .75-1" of roof flex in my Dakota Crew Cab. Built a box I designed which is around 1.25 cubic feet net tuned to around 31hz. I've been beating the crap out of this thing with decaf songs, Young Jeezy etc and it sounds awesome, and is taking the abuse of around 400rms. Would definitely recommend this for a budget friendly sub. Bass is tight but still gets really low and loud. Hopefully this will help someone who's looking at them.

    hello from new brunswick canada

thanks very much can't wait for it and to be the first in this area to have a ssa icon. sound quality is my only goal. car is a 91 prelude h22a engine swap. front doors have 2 6.5's 2 5.25.s a hiquphon ow11 tweeter and a mb acoustics tweeter up on the dash. this is on both doors. powered with a mcintosh mc440 bi amped crossed at 3800 hz with a audio control eqx. my plan is a sealed 4 cuft fiberglass into my truncks spare tire well. Hi man, greetings from the other side of the country! The Icons are amazing subs, I have 2 15"s in my truck and they sound awesome and get stupid loud. Id stay closer to 2.75-3 cubic feet if you are going sealed. You'll love your Icon!
  5. Heres a crappy Iphone video of my 2 15" SSA Icons in my Dodge Dakota on a Crescendo BC2000, Roof supports keep breaking off so theres a nasty roof rattle on the low notes.

    Help me get hair tricks

Heres my small hair trick, 2 15" Icons on a Crescendo BC2000D, I have a 250Amp SInger alt, 2 XS Power Agm batteries (D2700 and XP3000), box is 7.2 cubic feet after all displacements tuned to 32hz. It is in a crew cab dakota so obviously it would be harder for you in an Crv so tuned a bit lower (30hz) with the Xcons on same power might be enough but 18" Xcons would sure help. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/58950-codesters-2-15-icons-in-dakota-doing-small-hairtrick/

nice sounding 6.5's for under $200

I've been really happy with my Hertz HSK's for what its worth, the install sucks (havent had time to deaden properly yet) and yet they still sound amazing and everyone who hears them loves them. They are loud, clear and detailed but also a warm sound to them more than a harsh response. A few weeks ago I heard the local shop's SQ demo vehicle with all Hertz and Audison and it had a set of $1100 Hertz MLK's in it. They were amazingly clear and loud but too bright and harsh in my opinion compared to my HSK's. My ears hurt for an hour or two after and felt like they were bleeding after 2 minutes in it. (but it was crazy clear and very detailled)
  11. The evil is not even similar in the least. Death Penaltys are 1500rms, Evils are 3250rms. Sp4's are 3000rms. Death Penaltys have 3" coil, the Evil and the SP4 are 4" coil. and almost everything else is very different. I'd name some of the stuff but I'm not super knowledgable on T/S specs. The Fi and SSA are rated to take twice the power so obviously lots of parts will be stronger and able to handle more power. The DD Z is not in this category as its MSRP is over a grand so its not a budget sub as you requested, then again neither are the other two but definitely less money than a DD Z
  12. I had an issue somewhat like that this weekend and it stumped me for hours. In my case it was a fuse,(the amp would turn on and light would come on then it would shut off and lights would go out after about a second) The fuse looks perfect but under load voltage would drop across fuse to around 5 volts but only when amp was on.

Codester's 2 15" Icons in Dakota doing small hairtrick

I've thought about walling it and adding another 2 or 3 icons but instead bought a 300zx and have used up all my money on it. The truck has the bench seat removed so it only has on seat in the back. I built a false floor which is bolted down to the seat mounts, then has an xp3000 in a frame mounted in false floor, then amps on the false floor and box bolted to floor.

Thanks, I love the subs, they get crlazy low and moves some serious air on rap and decaf music then the next song can be metal or rock with a fast kick and they can be so clean and tight. You guys make some awesome subs.

    15" SSA ICON D2 and SoundQubed 1200.1

You're killing me with this Sean, I have a build that this would be perfect for but it wont be happening till june or so and hes not ready to put out money yet and I dont have the money to have it sitting till then. On a side note I love my Icon 15"s and everyone who hears them thinks they sound amazing and get crazy low. Whoever is looking at this ad should scoop this up fast as its an awesome deal. GLWS

Rigid drills for the money are good and have lifetime warranty on drill and batteries if you register them (work at a service center for them)

thats what the email said i got from the owner of singer? dont ask me! and its not adding to the total its adding to the output at idle. The pulley will add around 40 amps at idle. The alternator only puts out a small percentage of its peak 270 amps at idle so they put a different pulley so it makes more power at idle, For expample so if the alternator is 270 peak it might only put 120 amps out at idle so they put a different pulley so it will make 160 at idle but the output at higher rpms wont be affected much. Also I wouldnt be to quick to switch to welding wire, depending on brand of welding wire it can be quite stiff, I am using OFC Knukonceptz and love it. But if price is a big deal welding wire will work just as good as long as its not super stiff and you need to make lots of tight bends.

The price of owning a diesel...

My dad had a 06 F350 with the 6L and had 179,000km when he traded it in and never had injector, egr or anything. He put a ficm in it once but that was it. He pulled heavy traillers all the time but did maintenance on time and ran diesel fuel treatment. He now has a 2012 F350 and it is an amazing engine, crazy power and torque, good mileage and has put 30,000k on it without any issues.
