what does it take to get 150dB @ 25Hz?

What is the cheapest route to get 150dB at 25Hz? Two hardcore 15's and two SAZ amps, one HO alt and 10 batteries? Small vehicle walled or CRX subs up port back? How much would it all cost? Fiberglass, MDF, 2x4's, all thread, sound deadener, decent looking/running vehicle.

Aren't going to be around much longer. And the CVX's are a Natural to TH's - the X's didn't like TH's.. The 4 CVX 15's met and exceeded the performance of the X's in every way as TH's vs our 'large low tune" recommended ported enclosure for the X's at max power with only 1kw per driver. IOW these are a FAR more accessible driver - and system combination. The system requirements lead it to be something 'everyman' could aspire to. Did you see that F/R? Un Equalized. 135dB from 4 1kw 15's is INSANE. And this enclosure had exceptional acoustic reactance. There were literally DOZENS of old school car guy's who didn't think it could Possibly sound good - who came away Flabbergasted at how good it sounded. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Private Message Select Option... CVX's are superior in every way outside of thermal power handling for TH's. That - and we wanted to develop TH's around drivers relatively affordable so the average Joe could build TH's with phenomenal performance for less than the price of a 'bargain' sub-woofer... That, and Solo X's are being discontinued. Don't share that information, please.

Berry doin 2Hz and even 1Hz

For those that say a Behringer can't do 5Hz or below here it is
  4. and lower tuning.. plus the subs heat up the enclosure, bad for the amps too, so better cooling! Port is 24" long now for a 22Hz tuning, I get bad cancellation I think, so I will do a 30" port which will reult in 20Hz
  5. So on the right is the new 30" port for a 20Hz tuning. 20" off the rear wall for 1 port diamerter clearance and will stick out the front of the wall as far as the inverted subs will... but see, the one on the left, 43", keeps staring at me. It would come out the wall quite a wayze and right inbetween the front seats... 2 free ends....18Hz tune... ah shit, here we go!
  6. yup, gonna have to chop the tops of the seats off
  7. From rear wall to bottom of invert mounted sub is 52", subtract 20" for 1 port diameter end clearance and 2" for play 30" port
  8. Lowering tuning is a biproduct... though 24" could be "long" it's not. When I ripped out the old port completely, leaving the 10" thick wall as a 10" port...that should have raised tuning to 27Hz and been hella louder...but it was dead... even more cancellation. I'm making the port longer to keep the rear wave from cancelling through the short port. Though I should lose dB from lowering tuning, I think it will be similar or increase from stopping the cancellation.
  9. Watch the ceiling fan blades spin That was at 1/2 excursion

disable / turn off your sub(s) and crank the volume up and you can finally clearly hear the single digit noise the EPs make through the subs in these vids... the EQ and everything is the same in all 5 but progressively the master volume goes up, changing the sound a bit each time.

The ceiling fan really has come down before

yes I made that fake vid for a certain reason at the time I did it but it really has come down and now it is PL PRO'ed in there and the ceiling brace has reduced the bounce by over 50%. another good 6.6Hz sine wave video if you like that sorta thing. it sure doesnt top turtles mating though! a hundred and twenty three thousand? er uh 1,023 oops Happy New Years Eve!
  13. People keep telling me to tune lower, "can you drop it down to 5Hz?" I AM! My initial guestimation was off! So here is a port trick at 5.24Hz. when I said "when my amps shut off they make a loud noise" I meant when the breaker trips the subs pop from the amps getting their power cut. LTD, run a spectral, bet 5Hz doesnt show up! Bet 1Hz and 2Hz didnt show up in the other vid either! Does that mean with a 5.24Hz sine wave I'm not getting 5.24Hz output? Or the camera can't capture it?

Is it OK to enjoy the subsonics in music?

I have always loved the awesome mixing done from "Antichrist Superstar" on up... even if you hate him and the music itself there has always been interesting stuff done in the production Thanks Cablguy! BTW I have paid a little more attention to "staging" in the van after reading some of your posts on that other forum, though I like my "staging" it just can't go there.

Is it OK to enjoy the subsonics in music?

Some content is obviousely intended, created. Some content is obviousely from human voices and the mixers simply didnt HP the mics. Some is obviousely a bi product from creating sounds, not the sound itself... like a snair or high hat electronicly generated that has subsonic effects that weren't removed. I don't care. I LOVE it all. I always have. I have only had a huge HT for about 2 years now and barely had the huge van as it's only survived a week or two a few times before I smashed coils from over excursion, or this last time ripped coils from spiders at the tripple joints..cuz down that low it's just not loud enough. This isn't a new discovery of mine, I have been obsessed with infrasonics since I was a teen though I've very rarely gotten to experience it. But if it's not intended, is it OK to LOVE it? I have been fighting a battle for years on the forums, but as of recently I've been able to make some headway after creating some "good" low end systems. Here are just a few songs out of so many songs that have infra... I have heard it in music for years, but I grabbed the camera and did searches on a few songs I recall off hand. ATTENTION: EXPLICIT LYRICS (Though a very thoughtful meaningful song if you can deal with it) WITH EXTREME ULF CONTENT AT PARTS (Though the camera can barely capture it so don't worry about it) The infrasonics in this track are from words: Bilabial, Labio-dental, Dental, Interdental, and Alveolar sounds that were not High Passed (HP'ed) from the mic during recording/mixing. Not intentionally created, but not removed either. Pick The World Up Eminem Lil' Wayne This one seems to be a bi product of the drum beat. After the intro when it starts thumping there is a subsonic thump matching the high bass thump. Intentional or bi product I don't know...but either way... I like it. Put On Young Jeezy Kanye West This one is clearly intentional. It goes with certain parts of the song. It is so low that in the van it is unimpressive, too far below tuning, but with the towers (tuned to 13.4Hz) it was fun, and now...tuned to 5Hz EQed and crossed over...amazing. Marilyn Manson The Nobody's This one right here earned me "Douche Bag of the Month" on SMD forum, as I put a shirt in the window, stood outside the van, and tried to explain how I like the <30Hz content nobody else cares for and how I like 35Hz-50Hz attenuated...opposite of most. I had to delete the video as it caused a lot of trouble with so many bad comments on youtube and bad links to my threads on other forums to SMD's DB of the month thread. Anyway, it's clearly intentional..again, I like it. Tupac Dido Don't You Trust Me
  16. Alright I ran REW before and after to make sure I was getting the effect I was after, I did. Made a vid doing the sweeps then Wayne: "3 Peat" and made them crack out thumps like no other. YES, at 8:45 that is from outside near the street with the doors closed neighbiors gone for Xmas Wayne: "Lollipop" taken all the way out to the street doors shut.

Is it OK to enjoy the subsonics in music?

Juvenile Slow Motion Eminem 25 To Life Gorilla Zoe Ft Yung Joc Juice Box DJ Zemix Remix LAST AND CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, the LOWEST effects I have ever experienced in music OR movies.. even with my 4 18's in 1003 cubic feet tuned to 5.25Hz with 5000RMS on tap, Behringer EQ heavily boosting a wide center at 20Hz and heavily attenuating a medium center at 40Hz, and with my receiver LP set to 40Hz, at extreme levels... it is very hard to detect the lowest parts of this... it's even lower than Opus Dei's 3Hz pulses it seems...IDK...... Marylin Manson Cryptorchild If I ever get to do another van build, I will be tuning subsonically again... and find a way to be able to do a rear brace without interfering. I had to bump from 110 cubic feet 15Hz tune to 45 cubic feet 22Hz tune in the van before it tore itself apart

Is it OK to enjoy the subsonics in music?

When I built "The Aztek Box", a semi-quasi-wall that was really just a 21.5 cubic foot enclosure that took up most of the hatch facing forward tuned to 15Hz, I downloaded a bunch of Gucci and this song struck me instantly. The subsoinics are again phonetics simply not HPed from the mic, but again, LOVE it..especially Minaj Gucci Mane Nicki Minaj Slumber Party OJ Da Juice Man Gucci Mane Half A Brick Gucci Mane Jay Z Kanye West Lil' Wayne Bad Guy Gucci Mane Walking On Ice OJ Da Juiceman Twista

  22. WIN MY GEAR CONTEST NOBODY ELSE IN THE WORLD CAN DO THIS If anyone else in the world thinks they can match or beat my ULF SPL on this scene with their HT, you get my (4) Fi IB3 18's and (2) Behringer EP4000s. If you think you can, make us a vid and post it up. If it looks legit, break out your mic and give us the numbers. NOTNYT you can't... you probably still can do this HPed at 11Hz, Brian, you can't either all you have to do is turn yours up. Bosso... you'd have me worried. MKTheater, you can't quick order 06" XXXs and 22" sonotubes... your F20's only! Graham, don't make me laugh I've been getting out of audio for a while, put the 1803's up for sale last week and the van this week, now I'll sell the HT except this gear if anyone beats me, if not, I'll let the subs and amps go for $700 you pay shipping
  23. Bassotronics ripped my ceiling fan and false ceiling down caught on camera FOH brace yourself, grit your teeth, this time it was "crack house" so another retaliation vid that is just hard to listen to at the end 'ol friend
  24. You can NOT get that from 18's, especially tiny motored IB3s, especially in a HOME THEATER LFE setup! 1000 cubic feet? Ported?! Tuned to FIVE (5) HURTZ? Get the F'k out of here! Not gonna happen man. In a car with HUGE motored 10's in tiny high tuned enclosures with 900 gigga-watts? Sure. But not in a bedroom man.
