isobaric vs. regular ported box for 2 12s..

actually adding another one on your current enclosure will change the bass response drastically. You will essentially have a single 12 SSD in a 5 cu ft enclosure. Isobaric loading halves the Vas...making the enclosure seem twice as big to the driver

    Do you smoke?

I smoke....cigs and weed...slowing down on both though. rolling my one cigarettes helps...its more work for the one cigarette but I also enjoy rolling. Used to smoke a pack a day...what works for me to not smoke is if I am at home. I won't smoke at all if I'm at home...it doesn't even cross my mind.

crazy to see a 5 year old able to do a planch

    subwoofer unloading

The enclosure does not control the cone of the driver below tuning...the only thing controlling the subwoofer is the suspension

Dry Ice And Car Air Box ;)

    Beer to that

Fs of 27 and VAS of 80L, is that a decent candidate?

I would go with a low tuned ported enclosure With that little power you can make the enclosure a little on the large side to improve efficiency.

Dry Ice And Car Air Box ;)

lol wow this suggestion is IMO stupid. Dry ice = compressed CO2...CO2 does not help anything with fire. I thought most people knew that dry ice was CO2...thats why you don't stick your head in a cooler with dry ice...you'll pass out and freeze your face off
  8. My level of "low" is if it is dipping into the battery reserve a lot than that is too low. depends on the battery's float voltage than. If the battery rests at 12 volts and the drop is only down to 12.5 than you are fine...but 12 volts flat for a battery is low anyways

    Chops subwoofer.

My t-line was much more defined and noticeably more transient than even a sealed enclosure...subwoofer was the old school JL Audio 12W6 with the dual 6 ohm coils. I say good luck with the build

    Which shallow subs to get?

I would rather use a couple 8s in a ported enclosure or even a single 8 ported than shallow mount subs.

    2 12" alpine type r's

I had a Type R 12 in a 33Hz 1/4 wave pipe...gave it 1000 watts all day with no problems...the suspension finally loosened up after being underpowered in a sealed box for two years. But the suspension was perfectly fine...no noises at all right to near xmax.

    SSD10 lacking bottom end

That or I would build a bigger sealed enclosure

    Nightshade 12" 6th order bandpass

there is no "average" sized chamber as there are no one size fits all prefab enclosures. each chamber and tuning frequencies are specific to the driver and install.
