  1. Back calculate the T/A and see if it is even in the ballpark. If not, scrap the T/A settings it used altogether.

It also didn't do any phasing, which to me is a crying shame. I've never had a system where all 4 drivers in the front stage were phased the same. That can make a HUGE difference.

Another thing you can try is to save those settings and start over. Once you train your ear this will definitely be the better approach.

Thanks. I will try that for sure. I have adjusted phase a little and T/A. I am kinda just going by ear now. I don't know anybody close to me that is very good at tuning. So I am just doing all this myself.

  2. Hello,

I have 3x SSA DCON's in a box that I handmade from a design from a member here. I recently bought a new SUV and the box will not fit. The box is too wide by 1 inch. The inside area of the port now is 14 3/8" X 7 1/2" ....if I cut 1 inch off of the port then the new port would be 14 3/8" X 6 1/2".

Would this change the sound of the subs a lot or would it be ok to do this ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

  3. Yep, still got all the associated files on my laptop too.

Haha, that's awesome. Thanks again for your help. I've had many compliments on the design and how it turned out. I'm extremely happy with it also.

A friend of mine says I would do pretty good at some competitions around here for my class. If I go to any I will be sure to post my results here.

    Thanks again. :)

  4. I love when you have somebody pull up next to you with a "wally world" system and you completely drown them out. Here in Memphis,TN there seems to be so many weak systems that it is almost fun just to cruise around. Though there are the select few that are sounding great !!! :)

  5. lol....well, to be honest. the box I just built and put in sounds amazing and gets really loud. I am kinda fascinated with the "hairtrick" and wondering if it could be done in a Tahoe with 4 15" DCON's that are in the cargo area. I see that most of the hairtricks are with people that have a wall. So could a c-pillar wall do it or could it be done with a ported box ? Also, will it still sound good ?

As you said Alton, you like to be different. Well, same here. :)

  6. I know everyone my sister show's her DCON to is always impressed. She says she always has them listen to it first, then shows it to them. They can't believe it's the only sub in the truck.

I recommend them A LOT because they really are a great value. Whether the mic has a hard time with the sound or not it sure seems like they're really giving some output. One thing I noticed is that they seem to really be doing well covering their full range of bass.

Yea, my DCONs cover a big range so easy. And, they do get crazy low too. The song I played in the vid is a good song and does cover a good range but it doesn't have the real lows. I put on "Tom de Vos - Penetration (decaf)" today and was blown away at how low they go and how good they sound doing it. I have to say that I am COMPLETELY satisfied with these subs. I will try and get some more vids up soon (with a better camera).

Thanks for all the comments and views. :)
