    NEW 10s

Prefab box...no room to port! I'm not changing boxes, can't happen. I'm asking what I can drop In to be a noticable upgrade. Please dont recomend the box.
  2. Dodge charger trunk, here are the options, Im also open to anything somebody else could recomend. 1 dual 12 box about 4ft cubed, or 2 12 inch boxes about 2 - 2.5 cubes each ported. Subwoofers im interested in, GCON, or SA12. (or a subwoofer not much more than $200 each) Amp, a 1500rms or 1200 rms. I listen to mostly rap, heavy bass songs, and some dubstep. What should I tune my port(s) to? I was thinking 32hz What is my best option here? *My original idea was 2 seperate 2 cubic foot, 32hz boxes pushing 1200rms into 2 SA12s.*

    Port HELP!

I am designing a custom box I want tuned at 32 hz and I am not sure if I am using these online calculators correctly. I enter my box volume and height and width of the port and it gives me the length i need to make it... my question is what is my box volume? It is with or without the port??? My box is all completly designed and ready except for the port length because I am not sure how to get my desired frequency. Here is my current box. Height= 15 inches Width= 17 inches Depth= 20 inches (I might lower depending on how much I need for port) Port height = 13.5 inches Port width = 2 inches if this enclosure was SEALED, its total volume = 2.24 cubic feet, i was aiming more toward 1.75-2 feet. but i know the port takes room. PLEASE HELP.

    Port HELP!

okay, this is my box right now and it seems to work. IF IT WAS SEALED, it would be 2.24 cubic feet. 20 inches deep, 15 inches high, 17 inches wide. 27 inches of port (18 deep, 9 wide) which tunes it around 32. Would this work, there is about 1.7 cubic feet after I subtract the port. It is ment for a SA-12 which could go down to 1.5, so will this work?

    New rear speakers

2000 Mustang Convertible, rear 5.25 speakers dont really work anymore since the car has been redone with new audio. I need new budget 5.25 speakers (or even a large tweeter) that I can replace them with.

    New rear speakers

okay so il get the kicker 5.25 then so its mids and highs... I will take advice its just that iv already done so much im just trying to cheaply replace my rear speakers, im not going overkill, its not even a needed thing i just would like to enjoy a bit more sound. I dont want the "best sounding" car, i just want a loud one, and its doign good where it is but id like to fill in that hole of a speaker in the rear.

    New rear speakers

okay, let me make this clear for everyone. I am done amplifing my system, im done upgrading, im done with all the bass and electrical... I JUST WANT TO REPLACE MY 5.25 BROKEN REAR SPEAKERS WITH SOMETHING, that is all. YES, i understand the benifits of amping a new componet set, yes I understand why rear speakers arent that useful. I like the way the tweeters are back there and want more sound other than my 4 current tweeters and 2 5x7 speakers. My system is very loud, no doubt there, i would just like a little more without any upgrades, once again, just tell me what I can put there to fill that 5.25 gap. whats wrong with a tweeter? Its covered by a grill so nobody will ever know.

    New rear speakers

okay, let me rephrase that... the bass in the trunk doesnt drown out my speakers, it only drowns out the "bass" produced by my 5x7s (the only non-tweeters hooked up) My car shakes and moves some air so I dont feel its bass, but I hear the sound very clearly, i just want MORE of it. I could care less about adding more bass to the car, thats taking care of, i want some high notes now. What is wrong with putting a tweeter back there?

    New rear speakers

thanks but im actually looking for more high than low, I have two subs in the back that drown out the front bass. My front speakers provied some bass but I dont even care about it, i just want more highs than anything now, thats what im looking for. Thats why I wanted to know If i could just hook up a tweeter with the same wires... its cheaper and more along the lines of what I want. Why would this be a problem? ALSO, I need something with a bit of RMS, the stock amps are old but will still pump, so I need each speaker at least 50rms or my car will destroy it.

    New rear speakers

I get what your saying, but the point is to get MORE sound, i have tweeters back there already, I just wanna replace the big void where I might as well fill it in. I dont care for crystal clear or perfect bass, i ahve everything, i just want MORE sound

    New rear speakers

My mind is certainly not made up. Theres not many options where i am and thats the only one just about. Im looking for any deals online for half price that will make me just as happy

    New rear speakers

Will it matter if I get a 2 inch tweeter to put in the 5.25 hole? As long as i secure it enough that its not rolling around will it still sound good?
  17. Dangercdv

    New rear speakers

Not the answer im looking for, please just recomend a cheap 5.25 or something i can replace the nearly non working speaker with. I had the same problem with my front 5x7 speakers and replaced them and it is SO much better,

    SA12 Setup

2013 dodge charger, 180amp alternator. setup 1: 2 ported (32hz) SA12s on 1400rms amp @1ohm (700rms each) setup2: 3 sealed SA12s on 2400rms amp @1.3 ohm (615 rms each) Will the stock battery and amp be able to handle the 2nd setup? which of these is better for SPL and which for SQ? Any info will help, thanks. I am leaning towards 1st setup, just wanted to know if it was worth the 2nd. Im looking at a Hifonics GLX1400.1D

    SA12 Setup

Ok cool, thanks. I might throw a tad more money on a Hifionics 1500rms but il see. Il make sure to do the big 3. Thanks

    SA12 Setup

Im aiming for setup 1, just wanted to know if 2 would be worth it but it looks like thats a no. I want good SPL but i want SQ at medium volumes at least. Also im not SET on sa12s, but im not paying more than $200 a sub and i dont want a MASSIVE box, and sa12s dont need that much.
  21. 2 SA12s, ported to about 30-33hz, whatever you think is best. I would like two seperate optimal boxes to go in the back of a Dodge Charger, with 1200rms. Im looking for decent SQ (at least at low volumes) but mainly SPL
