    my DSS ethos

I would assume so....at least I hope so. I think that he has achieved maximum trunk status, and it's time to go BIG.

Please welcome SoundQubed to the SSA forums

Thanks for the great response, and welcome to SSA! I have yet to use anything from you guys but am very interested in your amplifiers. Now that you are a part of the SSA crew I might have to pick one up to play around with.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Normally I'm not into conflict, but I would definitely follow up based on this. That's incredibly unprofessional and lazy of that shop. I would actually say it borders on illegal, but maybe they were just that lazy and not liars. Hard to know, but with the fix being so simple, it's tough to imagine a shop not being able to diagnose that properly. Luckily the guys at this shop are just stupid, and not thieves. We actually got a free radiator out of it as they broke something on it and replaced the whole thing, and we weren't charged anything for their "work". I think that they did an oil change too, but I'm going to have to find out. I called the guy at the desk after I drove it home a few weeks ago and he was very apologetic and admitted that it was probably best to take it to a Nissan guy, he said that they didn't charge us anything because they felt bad about the situation. We have been taking my Infiniti and my Mom's Altima there for the past 10 years and there were a few times where I should have realised that they were not very capable. Most recently they drained the oil on my buddies Mustang and didn't add any oil, he drove it home before he figured out what they had done. I'm kind of sad today though because I went and started it up again and it was very shaky and felt like it was going to stall. I had assumed that there was still something underlying that needed to be dealt with, but now I'm getting worried. After it warmed up it ran for ~5 miles or so without any issues but then it began to run rough again. I'm going to park it for now I guess and take it somewhere reputable when I have time. I'm also going to pull the codes myself if I ever get the bluetooth obd scanner that I ordered.

    Neo Pro 10 v2

And again in the future order from SSA and they will get you what you ordered or make it right at their expense. This is specifically why I order anything that I need from SSA IF they offer it. On the other end I have had very good experiences with woofersetc in the past, they should definitely make it right.

    Neo Pro 10 v2

First of all why do you NEED the 8 ohm version? Second it should be a simple exchange...Amazon or Woofersetc pays return shipping because it is their screw up even if it is Sundowns's mistake they should make it right because they are authorized dealers. If not next time order from SSA and they will either send you what you ordered or make it right.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Altima update! So as I said a week or two ago I was able to drive the Altima with the "condemned engine" home but it was still running like shit. I found out that there are two different computer resets for this car (one to clear the check engine light, and an "idle relearn") I originally did the check engine light reset which made it drivable and even though it ran like shit I got it home. Then today I did the "Idle relearn" and now it is running perfectly which has confirmed that it has to be something electrical to me???? Thank you guys so much Seth, j-roadtatts, and Ryan for helping me out. If it were not for you guys we probably would have gotten seriously fucked over on this car. It honestly drives like it did when it was new.

DSS Tridents and Twisted Sounds S-10. Road to 166dBs

Kind of crazy that they did that seeing as you have a lot of close neighbors, and it looks like a nice neighborhood too.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I will definitely check that first. As far as the compression test goes I just found this video and it seems pretty straight forward. And thanks again, I really want to at least narrow things down before I have my Mom dump any money into it so anything that I can try myself I am willing to do.

So I bought a new car....

Thanks I actually did end up getting it and the sound is as I expected, not that great. The stock system in my Mom's Camry is far better which is pretty freaking sad as this bose system was a several thousand dollar option new. Anyway I'm going to try tossing a sub in and go from there.

So I bought a new car....

Well a "new to me" car and it is a 2006 Infiniti m35. I did not want the damn 14 piece bose system but I found a low millege m35 for a good price and it has it. I haven't listened to it yet (I won't be receiving it for another week or two) but I am assuming the worst from my past experiences with other bose equipment. How much of a pain in the ass would it be to install a head unit in the glove box or center console and maintain the factory dash and steering wheel controls. I really don't want to mess with the dash as it has a 6 disc changer in it and is beautiful as it is. I'm at the point where I may just add a sub if the sound isn't terrible, I can't find anyone who really went aftermarket with this system. I know it's a shot in the dark but has anyone dealt with this car or the G35 with the 14 piece bose system? I'll attach a pic of the actual cars interior if it will help.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Should run fine in limp mode unless something mechanical is malfunctioning. Could be something minor like a fuel filter or pick up. I would suggest checking fuel is making it to the fuel rail first. compression would be the next thing I would check. Both easy things to do. If you need instructions just ask. Anything that I can do with very basic tools and auto knowledge I will attempt. I am not expecting for you guys to walk me through this step by step but any info you can provide if you have time would be VERY appreciated.

Sounds good thanks, I just wanted to see if any of the new additions changed anything. I know it is throwing a misfire code I'll have to check again for the actual code as I reset the computer.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I just don't get it, how could a mechanic who was working with this car, actually "every mechanic they had" not be able to figure this out. And not only that, they told me the motor was done, basically swap it or sell the car for parts. My Mom told me two weeks ago to sell it to the guy that offered 750 she was done with it and didn't want it weighing on her mind. I told her not to worry about it I would see what I could do and if I couldn't figure it out I would. She was very happy to see me pull up in it.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

So here's an Altima update for anyone who cares or cares to help. So after being told the engine had no compression and they had "condemned" it I just left it in the lot for a few weeks and began my internet search to try to find some answers. Basically all I have found is that it could be simple and it could be the motor. I have been really trying to figure out what the hell to do and last night as I'm laying in bed I thought "what if the engine is flooded"! I thought of this because they had it for two days and said it was running fine, then I told them I'd pick it up the next day or two. They left it out front and pulled it in the garage the next night, then when they went to back it out again it wouldn't start. I remembered that when I used to live at my Mom's she parked it in front of the refrigerator in the garage and whenever we had to move it to get something we had to drive it around the block or it wouldn't start in the morning, which I'm told is typical with this car. So I had some time today to go check it out and tried turning it over with the gas peddle floored with no luck. Then I tried pumping the gas and it changed how it sounded when trying to start but then the battery was too drained to continue. I ran home and grabbed my power pack hooked it up and continued, within 5 minutes the son of a bitch started. It's still running crappy and I believe it might be in "limp mode" because I did a computer reset but I was able to drive it home. Any ideas on what to start with? Could it still be the engine? Thanks for reading and sorry for the mess but I'm just trying to add as much info as I can.
