Oh I shouldve clarified - I'm not opposed to other suggestions. The mounting depth on the box isnt great (6.25") so that played a big role in my choice. I used to have a 12" dcon ported and loved that, but mounting depth prevents me from using the dcon with this box. Thanks! Tom

Hey guys, been a looong time. I've always been a noob and now I'm a noob that took a few years off so I'm also rusty, so any help is appreciated haha Currently, I'm in a 2008 Envoy. After having 2 systems stolen in the past, I'm trying to keep it as "stock looking" as possible. I'm going with this subthump box: http://subthump.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_19&products_id=65 Narrowed my sub choice down to the Sundown SD-2. Mounting depth is fine on either so that's not a concern, but volume is. Sundown's site reccomends .5 sealed for the 10 and 1.0 for the 12. This prefab box offers .81 sealed before displacement so it's right between the two. http://www.sundownaudio.com/index.php/products/subwoofers/item/sd-series.html Still open on the amp (so if the power is a factor, please mention it), but which size should I get for this box? What up guys? I joined back in 2004 and I was active for quite a while (mostly reading and learning back then rather than posting) and haven't been on the forums in a looong time. I doubt anyone remembers me so I thought I'd sign in again! I got my feet wet again with a 12" DCON in a custom center console in my silverado. I looooved it for 3 whole weeks until it was stolen I'm about to order 2 more for a build in my TSX I'm back....and I make more money now so I have more $$ to waste on car audio P.S. How do I change my member title? My tastes have changed in the last 7 years and I really hate it now haha

I ordered my 12" DCON right around the end of last year. There were some hiccups and a bit of miscommunication but overall it took about two weeks. I made a custom center console for my silverado reg cab that replaced the center seat. It was ported at about 31hz on 400 watts and it performed flawlessly. I enjoyed the hell out of that thing for about 3 weeks until some bastard busted the window and stole it. I have since sold the truck and will soon be running 2 x 12" DCONS in my TSX. All that aside, I was REALLY impressed and I would GLADLY wait again.....I'm about to order 2 more

Did you ever build this? I'm about to build a ported box for 2 x 12" DCONs and I'm curious as to how yours turned out (if you went that route)

Well a guy that lives right buy me got his truck broken into the same night (prob the same guys) and they stole the HU with a detachable face....even though the face wasn't on it. My point is that if there is any indication of anything other than stock then I don't want it because that will give them a reason to break in. Thanks, Tom

haha well thats a good idea but not for me. I wasn't specific up there but they actually couldn't get the 8w7 out si I didnt lose that. However, is anything big like that is in there then they have a reason to break in and check for more. I don't want to give ANY reason to break in, you know? Thanks! Tom

First off, hello again. It's been well over a year since I last posted - I used to hang around here back in the beginning. So I have a 99 silverado single cab. I recently got my system stolen (kenwood HU, RF amp, JL 8w7) and I need a new solution that's not as obvious and hidden a little easier. Sadly I must go back to the stock radio because I'm afraid it would be broken into again. I have an MA amp the fits under the seat and powers the 4x6s and components in the doors so I'm not worried about that. Past that I'm not sure... My question is what next? I know it's vague but I don't have a lot of space and I don't know what to do. I hate lowering my standards but I'd rather do that and have some piece of mind than get what I want and be afraid it will be stolen. I have always heard 6x9s sound bad in a single cab but have never heard them for myself - what about 4 powered 6x9s behind the seats. That could be hidden much easier. Any input is appreciated Thanks! Tom

Ok so first off looooong time no post. My life has been nuts and all I do is work. I don't really know much about camaros but this one seems pretty solid (as long as it has a clean title and plus I still need to test drive it) but I just thought I'd run it by you guys to see what you think.
