if your thinking about adding another alt then just go ahead and get a second battery. theres a kit that you can get from daves dc elect that will isolate the two systems. so you can have one set just for the audio and then the other for the car. it would be alot safer that way and its not that hard to install. his number is 1-888-441-0144 or you can email him www.davedc@msn.com good luck jamie
