I think you reinforced what I do was hoping to acheive, I don't see why a driver can't play reqium mass and then lateralus directly after. If it has good responce and accuracy I would have assumed it could to both... I don't understand why I can';t accurately play what both recordings have to offer. For the record.... I would say that you don't NEED 1500 watts no. but I have never ever had an issue with having too much overhead in the sub stage. I am more familiar with home audio however. I really have never experienced a situation where there has been too much room for more bass in my own personal audio set ups. I will also preface everything with the fact that even after I deaden my truck, there will still be a much much louder sound floor than in home audio, and I see diminishing returns much sooner than I would in home audio. At home I see there being a reason to have seperate stereo and HT equipment, for example. In car I want something that can provide me with acuracy and forcefullness. I'm not looking for some street thumper set on destroying the universe burping down the street. But I do in fact listen to music that is verry bass and mid bass heavy. I just realized now in fact that the 4 channel amp I had is much less powerfull than I have thought originaly, so I may need to upgrade that also. I listen to just about all music. I Have been listenign to more and more jazz and "lounge music", diana krall is a fave for example. I listen to quite a bit of rock not so much metal, I listen to quite a bit of hip hop (i.e. Jur5 Atmosphere etc.)not so much current thumpity rap. I listen to found sound, the postal service is an ecample. I also listen to some pretty bass heavy electronic. not junle not breakbeat so much, more supreme beings of leasure, BT, a bit of casual house and in fact a bit of verry gentle breakbeat. A large selection of rat pack music. I also like to make my organs vibrate with subbass organ tunes sometimes or the occasional Bass mechanics type track or crystal method. This isn't directed to you Sean or anyone else, just a general statement. I really hope this doesn't turn into a "that's not sq" type thread. If we're going there I'll drop it, and just do my own thing, I just appreciate the advice and knowledge here, and think that if I could express what I was thinking I could probably find the correct answer.

Not about need, I'd say you can't put 1500w to it as for an SQ installation you'd have to have a really, really serious front stage then. By it are you meaning sub stage Sean?

True, but just because we can, does it mean we should? I guess it depends on the technology, I'd be all for more offshore wind farms that some people are opposed to, but drilling in national wildlife refuges is a little meh... The crisis is that the old business model is basically holding us hostage to a corporate system that's going to keep charging and charging us. If large amounts of people broke off from that, we'd have some very interesting results... This isn't related to vehicles per say, but the cost of energy in general is making a lot of renewables suddenly very affordable. The last time I was at my folks' place, we spec'ed out a recirculating solar hot water system, at current propane rates ($3.50/gal) it'd pay for itself in five years. And that's only going to get better. I would say yes we should. I think the earth should be a top priority but to not take advantage of the fuel we could use makes no sense. This wind and solar idea are pretty good no doubt. I would do it even if I would only break even as it would make me more independent. Wind is a real real hard to use source,only in the US would it work well as we don't populate much of our nation, and have large open spaces..... that said I'm still for nuclear. Clean and efficient, and requires less operational energy. It self sustains. With Gas I feel the same way. It's the least of the evils we have, the human race will run around like confused chickens with the self created crisis. I don't expect what works here to work in the rest of the world, just as I don't expect what they have to work here. I think it's insane to not make use of something as efficient as crude. The one point I feel in agreement with you is that tapping in wildlife reserves is sketchy at best, but it would probably cost less to move every plant animal and rock out of the way and create an indestructable bubble around the area, than to switch to another fuel mach schnell before the tech catches up with the desire.

I cannot find that morel ultimo anywhere buy woofes etc. and it's a bit high of a price, though super sexy and a really interesting design. the VC is outside the mag? Why do that? I can't find a price on the new SI mag anywhere. Also I could be crazy but I would run into the same issue running 2 mags as they are dual 2 also correct?

I could run just one of the VC's perhaps but then the subs total power handeling would go down I beleive, Maybe somne else could chime in. I'm probably wrong but I thought I saw a crafty way to wire the buggers to get a 1 ohm load.... I'll have to t out the pen and paper or cheat and use some internet tool lol. using only one Vc will not HURT the sub but will not be the best way of doing things. using only one VC will chnage the subs TS specs usually for the worse, the changing in specs will often effect the size of enclosure the sub needs, also i think power handling is decreased by 30% only using one VC. yeah, I was pretty sure it wasn't a good idea I just wasn't sure why.

agreed I haven't decided on the midrange. I will need a larger mid driver, I love mid. The peerless are pretty nice. I also was looking at seas excell.. there is a thread out there of some choices and help I was getting on the mids.. I'm just hoping to avoid doing anything OTHER than a basic IB install for the front.I have soo much room and it can go pretty deep. I'll door mount and angle the mid up slightly to get a bit better imaging hopefully and more direct sound. It will also provide with a ton of room for a deeper speker so I'm not limited. Think kick panel angle but in the door. I have less room by my feet in my truck than I do where the door is. Ayway... I'm trying to pic the subs as it's an easier choice due to the fact subs are less of a commitment. If i'm not happy.. well pull out the box find a new sub, sell old buy new build new box... it will be fun in fact... Glassed in mids would take much more work to change out. The mids choice is so hard to make I'm having cold feet so I'm trying to make up my mind on something else.

I may be a nub, no I am a nub, but I thought gain knobs reflected voltage more. I would rather put less juice to 2 and have little to no likely hood to damage anything, than rely on reigning in the watts. I think I understand your point though as lower gain will ultimately result in less power to the sub. Thank you for the clearing up the reference though. I thought about a 1 sub set up, it would be nice to save the room thats for sure, I just wasn't sure that it would go as low and have the authority that 2 15"s would have.

digms are nice. I think they are servo style too. in theory you would get better response that way. I'm not really truely sure how it works enough to say more or even if they are true servo style. For music I bet they are awesome... for theatre... run some nice subs in an array, maybe IB... yeah... boom heheheh
