Fun story, we ended up with a 2019 Expedition Limited for a crazy low price ($30,000). I knew the cam phasers were probably wearing out, but at that price I could eat $4000 in repairs and still be ahead.

1 week later the check engine light comes on. Cam codes and cat converter. I take to the dealer (who had a 3 month 3K mile warranty on it). Turns out it needs the cam phasers and the catalytic converter replaced. Total price is about 5K. They are currently sending it down to there Ford dealer to perform the work. So it looks like it’s all going to work out. Only downside is I’m paying on a vehicle I can’t actually use at the moment.

    Brutal!  Hope it works out.

Yeah, if you need to tow more than 100 miles at a time an electric vehicle is impractical at the moment.

He may do just under that but you can charge anywhere here in MN if you figure out your route.

This is all in the city around here.

They must be towing light loads short distances, in which case a diesel would be pointless to begin with.   Plenty of data out there to show the impracticality of towing with a current electric vehicle.

Tows playgrounds to local parks and assembles them.  Heavy enough load he hated a regular pickup because it was sluggish around the city where people are maniacs I suppose.

Saved him $700 a month in gas so made sense for his needs.

Fun to see a little action on here!

I got in a wreck last month. Ran a light under a highway and got T-boned by a sedan. The initial estimate to fix my truck is a couple of thousand away from totaling it. I REALLY hope they do.

The wife and I are talking about selling her car and getting something like a used Lincon Navigator to use as the big family vehicle and tow pig. I would find something cheap (preferably with a stick shift) to use around town. I don't drive much anymore with my work-from-home job, so we can go down to one vehicle pretty easily. Also, have my dad's Bronco sport available to drive almost any time.

I made the assumption, but I hope you’re ok!

Do you guys need to tow long distances?  When working at the film/tint shop I met 2 people who stopped using their diesel trucks for a Model X as a work vehicle to tow trailers.  Even with the car payment they are both saving a few hundred a month.

I have an older version.  I found them at a place that sells office 2nd hand office furniture.  I got a GREAT deal.  I was able to get a tall piston for one of them to accommodate my architect desk.  You will find these office furniture resellers in almost every city.  Check local and find something dope.

The place I went hires people who are rehabilitating. Felt good supporting them.

HumanScale chairs are pretty fantastic as well last time I checked.  Herman Miller makes one that’s really amazing if your not a giant.  It’s a step up from the aeron. I feel the Aeron is a bit over rated.

Figure it's time for something new in here lol

I'm doing a lot more writing and editing of photos lately. The computer chair I picked up a few years ago just isn't comfortable 5 years later. What is everyone using and how do ya like it?

I like the top of the line from steelcase. They held up for me.

And one month after I decide not to leave the country, poop hits the fan hours away from where I live.

    Fuck you Vladimir!

Been thinking about you a ton. Hope you’re safe!

  8. I’m over it.

Just downloaded the T-Mobil apps and I’ve been getting non stop scam calls etc.

I have a huge mess to clean up, so I’m going to get on it.  Everyone I knew told me not to marry her. I should have listened.

  9. Well…..  the ex had access to my everything.

She absolutely had my old email so she even had access to this site.

Sean, Aaron, thank you for helping me change that.

I have bo idea how long she may have been impersonating me.  When I was 15-17 or sometime around then my ex was already moved out and I stayed with my ex wife Jenn for a while.  She Dated my roomate Sean and then while he was at college she and I got together.

I have no idea what she has done to Sean but I think he’s going to find out what she’s been doing behind the scenes soon.

the point is, if I’ve ever reached out to you, know that my social security number, my decided mothers SS, and my health insurance and info is out there on the internet.  Be careful all of you.

The is the worst possible situation I think I could have stepped into.  I hope she never targeted any of you, up until now I didn’t understand how recent and how sick she is/was.

Canon released their EOS webcam utility sometime last year I believe.

Should I be worried about a couple hours of my 60D doing that per day? I thought I may really be stressing the sensor.

Probably nothing to worry about it will shut itself off if it gets too hot.

It’s hours in the sensor, but…. It’s what you paid for.  It’s less stressful on the camera than an afternoon shooting in hot Texas sun.  I pinky promise.

If I don't have to worry, should I just buy a 24mm 2.8 and call it a day? Should allow me to get the camera close enough to not crowd the room

That would be my choice unless work is fitting the bill 100%.

  12. Short answer games and theater.

I even like my music in the theater room with the tower speakers. It has an energetic “almost live” feeling.  It’s more than good enough to hear Tim Reynolds fingers on the album he did with Dave Matthews if you’re not deafening.  It’s not as perfect as the JBLs but it’s better in this use case. The only thing I could imagine replacing the energy speakers with is something I make or if my budget is endless and I have to buy it not build it, probably some crazy Servo sub setup and probably a Genelic premade built in.

I have 2 giant subs with so much juice so I can a) have more placement options

    b) enhance the sweet spot and capitalize so I can dig LOW and sound good.

    That's the easiest way.

....although for those drivers being close is probably ok.  Theater or music?  ie, 12hz rumble nuts or just music

I want deep bass.  My frustration is the energy towers are not so great at deep musical bass.

my velodyne is probably “loud” enough, it just sounds like trash unless I change it to the “jazz” setting and then the lows are so cut off it’s not what I wanted.  I never took time placing it around the room however.

The velodyne will probably go to the PC or I’ll give it to someone who needs it.  I have an 18” fi Q that will go with the Martin Logan’s.  At least that’s the plan.
