not all the time bit would like to give subs rated power atleast and see how much headroom i have to upgrade. i know that but i want to know bassically how much i can pull from one amp at different voltage and headroom to add on later down the road instead of buying an amp that is rated for 1200 at 2 ohms and knowing it does 1200 and not knowing that i does a little more and to know what and how much headroom i have. for me knowing what the clamp test of an amp did would let me know how far down the chain of amps i can go to match the rms wattage of the sub(s) i would run off of that amp

then what would be a formula to calculate how much an amp can put out at different voltages

no if 1 ah is 300f at 12v that would mean a 100ah battery is 30'000F which is means a battery is great for reserve power, but you are giving up reserve power for charge rate. with a battery it can't charge and discharge at the same time that is where a bank of caps shine. there are claims that a bank of 1 or 2 caps are 1db louder then a bank of batteries this is a formula that was calculated out for 1 bank of 6caps. 1 joule can produce 1 watt at 1 second. So, let's say we have a bank of (6) black ones. That's 15v/433F. 433/2 = 216.5 15x15 = 225 216.5x225 = 48,712.5 joules

then what kind of test would be good to understand how well an amp does

So companies that sell very cheap amps like boss audio for instance. There was a guy who clamped a boss audio 3k or 2k don't recall on the top of my head but it was one of those two and was only making a little leas the 300watts on one channel

you can have them submit a video or picture with their name on the forums to have it legit. but i thought it would be a cool idea see how much wattage everyone has. they don't have to pay attention to it just use it as a reference on the rating of each company's amps, mainly to give an idea of what company you are investing your money into.

I'm using it as a second battery I have a lead acid upfront @bigjon one of the competiers use's the caps in his daily system but only as a second battery not as a starter. and he is fine with everything but he is pcm regulated and drops from 14.6 to 12.6 on idle and those caps he has work just fine but he gets it ffrom a guy on ebay for like two banks of 6 for 222. i was told by him and the other person that uses them that in a bank of 6 they act like a battery due to the high farad amount

You can try incriminator audio like a lethal injection or 2 I series the should be fine

Um going to replace my duralast platinum 34r with one

For a bank of six is 125 and it is all put together and a new bat would be 500+

i know a few people at the local dbdrag shows who use them and there is one his name is ron a black yukon of team db addicts uses them all the time he has a stock alt and i believe one regular battery. i was told that with the bank of 6 of them in one bank the large capacity of the them all together they act like a battery.
