I checked the ohm with a multi meter and it showed zero. Think about it this way, the part of the bolt that is getting used is around one inch or less for a single layered box. You would get more box rise then what the bolts would cause. Also, if the was the case no one would be using them esp. the pros. Sidenote: I am working on showing how to strap two amps but I need to find another amp. ok, thanks. depending on what subs i use, imp rise would actually help me a little. but i dont understand fully how/why imp rise happens and what can/will cause it. anybody have a link to info on it? i checked on bcae1, but maybe i missed it

ive heard your impedance rise gets a little worse if you use bolts like that... have you experienced that? my next setup, im actually hoping it rises a little so i can strap 2 sundowns at 1.5ohm or so. (dual 1 ohm subs)

if anything, paint them gloss black like that. they are dead sexy in original condition

ive seen some pictures of ones that had vinyl decals on them, like a full scene covering the front. not sure how that would effect the cooling either

x2 on the deck, you need to be up into the volume 50 range, thats when your getting the most output out of the RCA's. you may be getting a fraction of a volt out of the outputs at volume 40. most of the time 50-55 is where you will get 2V output

how much 4awg would you need? i have some short runs (>5') that i could probably give you to save you the risk of burning down your vehicle lol.... and dont buy the capacitor. also, DONT max out the gains... its not a matter of "whether the subs can handle it". It may cause damage to the sub either way. where do you live? i may be able to send you some 4awg

what kind is the voltage rating on your RCA's on your HU? double check that too with your meter

nope they never get hot nor warm at .5. My coils supposibly are d1 but read 1.4ohm. Yes get some upgraded alt and battery bank for sure!!! ok sweet. i hope mine are about 1.4, thats exactly where i want them strapped at. i have a 200amp alt, redtop and 2 batcap 2000's, 2 more will be coming if i go with 2 saz3ks. get that thing on the meter!

awesome! im considering running the exact same sub/amp combo, and will be getting D1's... have you noticed the amps getting hot any? did your coils read a little high or low? im afraid mine may read low and ill be strapping the amps at like .8 or so, running each amp at .4

when you get done testing the 18" 'shades, sell them to me . srsly, ill buy them, im hoping to be running 2 18"s on 2 saz3ks later this year at comps and then at SBN next year
