    Amp Upgrade?

I guess I wanted more power on tap but if it won't make any audible difference, then I'll spend my money on a different upgrade.

    Amp Upgrade?

The FL1 model. There's a video of it running at half ohm so I assume it's stable under that load.

    Amp Upgrade?

With the sale on Flatline amplifiers, it's hard not to resist asking if upgrading is worth it... I currently have a Soundqubed 1200.1 powering my SSA Icon 15 d2 in a sealed 2.6 ft^3 box. Will there be any noticeable difference in loudness? Will this amp provide enough headroom in case I purchase another Icon 15 in the future? Any information would be helpful since there isn't much data on these amps. Thank you

2012 Mustang GT - nothing fancy

Glad to hear you're able to gain output given the cone area and power didn't change. Clean ride!!

    ICON 15 Smallest Sealed

I can fold half of the rear seat down when it's just me in the car without ripping out car seats. Should I fire the sealed sub forward and try to seal it from the trunk or run an enclosure size so air can escape into the cabin while rear firing?

    ICON 15 Smallest Sealed

I can't convince my wife to drive the 5-series but it's our bigger car and I shouldn't really even put a box back there. I gave you the dimensions of our X3, which I wanted to take over since I can use more trunk. It's still up in the air since the baby hasn't been born yet....

    ICON 15 Smallest Sealed

The Boss says try it you might like it! It'll have to wait until I no longer need to tote a stroller around in my trunk. I sent several emails to DC Creations to squeeze in a ported box but it won't have enough volume to be worth it.

    ICON 15 Smallest Sealed

I'd love to put this thing in 4.0 cubes tuned to 32 hz but space restraints won't allow it. I'm going to have to try it out and see how it sounds.
  9. I know I should have gotten an ICON 12 but I got the ICON 15 from W140 on here. Great seller and smooth transaction! He's going to get me in trouble with the wife since he's sold me my amp as well. Anyways, I'm a bit restricted on space since I need to fit a stroller in my trunk. I've measured my max dimensions for a sealed box and it comes to a net volume of 2 ft^3 after driver displacement. If I use 2 lbs of polyfill, will I still receive decent output and freq range? Sub is being powered by a Soundqubed 1200.1 running at 1 ohm.

WTB- 10" or 12" ICON or better sub

I have a Fi BL10 D2 with cooling and daily option. It's 5 weeks old and has a little scuff on the mounting gasket. Reason for selling....I want moar loud! Send me a PM if you are interested.

    Which 10" Subwoofer

Good point! I hope this setup will be comparable to a setup I've had in the past which was a 12w6v2 and JL 500/1 v1 amp. That thing got down but I did feel I wasn't hitting the upper range (ie 80 hz). It was probably the box tuning. I know I'm running a smaller woofer but I'll be supplying much more power and air space.

    Which 10" Subwoofer

Will I expect more output from the GCON vs an ICON with the box I will be using?

    Which 10" Subwoofer

I was losing sleep thinking I paired the wrong sub with my amp and box. I'm glad I was told I made a good decision. I'm so anxious to get everything put together! My current setup is not working in my new car as far as loudness goes....

    Which 10" Subwoofer

I certainly hope so. I was really close to ordering an Fi SSD....

    Which 10" Subwoofer

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I've been doing car stereo and made plenty mistakes. I prefer to do it right the first time since I don't have a lot of spare time to fiddle with it like I used to 17 years ago.
