    12's or 1 15

I was debating on the same thing... I ended up going with a single 15" Memphis Mojo. 4 cubes @ 30Hz, trunk sealed to armrest... 2 12's would be louder but I wanted to go with the least electrical consumption and that's obviously not an issue for you. You will save a little money on drivers if you go with the single 15. Pics of my setup: SPL & SQ / Fabrication
  2. My homeboy Baer does awesome work.
  3. here's the before pic here's the after pic here's a shot from inside the vehicle here's what's inside! 15" Mojo
  4. Finished the build.....and it turned out AWESOME!!!!! Here's the link to the other forum where I posted it. My link

    Subwoofer decision

Also be careful if you've never built a box before... you may have 8 cubes of space inside your trunk, but your TRUNK OPENING may not be big enough to fit a 4 cubic foot box inside (realistically 5-5.5 cubes external dimensions). I've made that mistake before and was pissed at the week of work that was wasted!

    New box Ideas

I vote staying with the largest volume that is recommended just because efficiency is higher with larger enclosure volume in vented applications. Also, power handling is reduced as enclosure size increases.
  7. I thought about that, but it's way more complex. Also, I was under the impression that if I did a bandpass enclosure I wouldn't get the frequency response I'm looking for from 30-40 hz.
  8. Yea. My car has a ski-pass access..... Apparently all BMW owners ski. Lol
  9. I'm at my wit's end bro! I've been on every Bimmer forum out there and everyone I've talked with is less than satisfied with the way the trunk is insulated. I'm hoping that it will make a difference...if not, I'm just gonna keep it the way it is because I love the car otherwise... what did you do to your Bimmer? What year/series is it?
  10. A single 15" Memphis Mojo (new style) for now. Depending on how it sounds, I may switch to either a 15" Xcon/Fi BL or 2 12" Icons/Fi Q's

    2 12" ICONS AMPLIFIER QUESTION

x2 You don't need to feed a woofer the full RMS to get it to perform well. Just because a car has 400HP, that doesn't mean you have to mash on the gas wide open throttle everywhere to enjoy the performance of it... LOL...everybody is a power fiend!

  13. Vechicle is BMW 7 series... The cabin is so well sealed, that not much bass has been entering the cabin of the vehicle. It's stuck in the trunk. I'm thinking about doing a new ported enclosure that would face the rear seats, and is completely sealed from the trunk. Hopefully, it will force more air through the armrest ski-pass...I'm trying this because I don't really want to slice up the rear deck. So the question is, should I leave a few inches between the box and the rear seats or build the port so that it extends into the ski-pass and seal that as well? The goal being maximum output, of course... Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Shallow Component Set

Awesome job guys! You wouldn't happen to be making one of those sets in 4" size would ya? I would love a couple pairs of those for my Bimmer. Focal & Morel are the only sets that I've seen that will fit that I know of...

    New vehicle, new system

Got a new vehicle, so its time to upgrade the sound system. Vechicle is a BMW 750i. The stock Logic7 system sounds better than I excpected, but the "subwoofers" under the front seats seem to be more like mid-woofers. I listen to mostly rap and R&B. I was thinking a single 12 or a couple of 10's sealed, but I'm open to suggestions. I'm also not brand biased....I'm just looking to get away from mainstream subs. I'm not building an SQ system or anthing, but I want a balanced sounding system. My goals: 1. Add some low end punch to complement the mids and highs without overpowering them. 2. Maintain some usable trunk space 3. Not destroy my car....(last system demolished my vehicle) 4. 1000 watts or less so I don't have to upgrade electrical system 5. Budget of $600 for amp and sub...but I can always save a little longer Hope I gave enough info.....thanks for the consideration...
