    FI vs SSA

This is funny, I just was wondering I already know what kind of subs I am buying, to answer your earlier question. I was just trying to start a new subject and it worked. That's interesting though so the owner of RE audio made FI? He has a good name. hence scizzle being scott too. O and cool dog.

    Jl audio opinion?

The past few years I've tested a number of W7's and found consistant break up at different frequencies where it appeared to be a weak spot or gap in the drivers performance. Fairly minor nit picks overall. Sure, in my opinion, there are equally capable drivers out there, however, The W7 series is still by far a great driver worth the current price. ---> Bear in mind JL Audio does a lot of in house R&D. The tried and true W6 line has stayed true since introduction. Magnificent drivers, rugged, reliable, and accurate. I'd honestly consider the W6's JL's "Flagship" series, as they have stood the test of time from one generation to another. I'd venture to say that if you have problems with the W6 line, they are likely user related! Overall, I don't really think that JL Audio has made a true "bad" speaker yet. Sure, some are obviously better than others; but in my experience with their products (and there has been a hell of a lot! ) they have always performed fairly well, and I have no regrets. Cool Thanks

    Jl audio opinion?

They're very different in design...the W7 has much more output potential and power handling ability, but I'm not a fan of how it sounds...regardless of price. Price doesn't come into my thoughts of it at all, it's cheap compared to some drivers out there. What about the icon 12 vs the diamond audio 12 and the w6 forgive me for not righting the exact models. I do know that the continous power rating is different on all of them I am just looking for your opinions.

    Ideas for Sound system

This is getting to be pretty funny actually back and forth back and forth I due enjoy this, it gives me stuff to read when I get on at night. I want simplicity though that's why im going with one set of components. But if anybody is actually interested in answering this question. What are the best brands and speakers within those brands for a component 6 1/2 set and plane 6 1/2's?
  12. I'm trying to figure out what to get for a good sound system in my Escalade. I was thinking about getting 2 12inch cv stroker's,(any opinion on these). for the doors I was thinking about a boston acoustics components 6 1/2's not sure about a deck, back door speakers, and amps for speakers and the subwoofers. Please help. Speakers pairs not more than 300 bucks subs not more than 300 bucks a piece amps not sure imagine they'll be at least 500 but I want to keep it around 3500 dollars give me your ideas with install so.

    Ideas for Sound system

Wow there is a lot more involved with this than I ever thought. LOL I was thinking about an install from a sound advice here in Florida or this place called MadMarks. Let me clarify I want a nice sound system 15's are a little too much(not money) I think 12's would suffice. I want one component set in the front I do know that. I'm not sure what to do about the custom box, because I have to choose the subs first this is my opinion. The sound deadening sounds cool I didn't even think of that due to how quiet my car is already. I know I need a bigger battery because my battery now sucks, and maybe even an upgraded alternator(unless with the bigger battery I have to get it no matter what) . I'm not looking to compete with this sound system, so everything I want to do is probably overkill. About the deck, I already have XM built in so I don't know if that is an easy hook up to a new deck but I want Ipod support don't care about bluetooth, I can fit a double din. I don't need a DVD player, but I would like some EQuing possibilities. I think if I go to crazy with vinyls and stuff I am going to be way over budget so I am just trying to gain some knowledge and perspective and get some opinions, so when I talk to a custom place I don't sound like an idiot.

Yet you forgot to tack on an extra 8-16 hours for the damplifier so another 600-1200dollars just in labor for sound deadening? i think around $1500 will be enough for installation..plus any place that charges $1200 for sound deadening install needs to be shot.. I am wondering what kind of deck to get too, because I can't imagine jsut some regular alpine like that one would go so great in an escalade. It leaves quite a bit of space.

Now we need to factor in about 2 days of labor for a full install (erroring on the side of caution). So basically after the 1200$ in labor, and 400$ in parts/wiring and miscellaneous supplies you have a nice 1800 or so dollars for actual product. Do you plan on adding a better battery, big 3, or even an alarm/start... Are you having a box built for you? For rear speakers I would feed them deck power and use a co-axial of the same family of speakers. Thanks for your input. I am not sure I haven't really talked to the customs place around here for information regarding anything other than speaker choices. What do you think, and honestly what is big 3, and alarm/start do you mean an alarm system or am i stupid. I am going to have a box built but I don't know what I should do there either, I am pretty much in the ideas stage and this will really be my first real audio system so I am not in the now about a lot of things. any more input your willing to give me would be great thanks. oh and also you don't think i should have an amp for the rear speakers is that what you were saying.

I want More SQ than SPL, I wasn't sure about the CV's that's why I am asking people who know. Any suggestions for really good SQ subs that are 3oo or less per sub. as well as the other things I am asking about.
