  1. Are v.s thread's against the rules?

Yes and no. People who say two simple things like FI vs SSA are not allowed. But asking between 2 products which would fit you're application better, and you actually list everything about your system, is fine. At least that's how I see it.

    Taramp's Q&A

They are rated at %1 THD? Is it true that these don't like wiring below 2 ohms? one last one, do you have a folder full of amp guts of various ones? just pictures.
  3. In addition to the above posts, a y-splitter does NOT halve the voltage. If you had 10V output and connected a y-splitter, each "leg" of the splitter would still provide 10V.With this in mind, is it possible to use no headunit using the ipod and line driver method. sacrificing volume and EQ control of course. all while giving the two amps healthy input signal?
  4. Thats good info. So the car needs midbass though and I don't want to make new door panels at the moment. So I thought building a center console would serve me weel. the floor of these cars have oceans of space.
  5. They are 6x9's. The additional 6.5's will go in an enclousure where the center console would go normally, as there is none in these cars. then 6.5's in the front door. 6x9's in the rear deck. Please, do explain.
  6. Started one. It's most of the pictures I had on hand but i'll take some more. Its temporary that I have no deck. It just costs more than the average car because of GM's chime'and oil life reset harnes. Its like $50 bucks, but it makes the whole deck $300 http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/61284-heisenberg-impaler-build-log-soundqubed-rockford-fosgate-alpine/
  7. I almost feel like I jumped in really deep really fast. This is my first build and I realize more and more that I still don't know enough. Basic question's I should have already known long before dealing with a 4k watt amp. Kinda feel like I should have got a really nice 1500 or 2000 watt amp. idk.. maybe i'm just a sketchball.
  8. huge relief. there is damage that can be done with too much input signal though, right? again, crazy relief and now I can come clean about giving my new 3500 a 60 miliamp input signal while testing earlier today without feeling like a shitty father.
  9. Im just trying to boost it cause I could tell splitting the ipod signal straight into RCA's and into the amp was not nearly enough input signal, so I can expect just a slight increase? this is all temporary by the way, but will be put to a screeching halt if somebody can answer my next question with the answer im scared of... Is there damage that can be done to an amplifier by giving it a very weak input signal and turning the gain? is there generally damage that can be done by feeding an amp a small signal voltage?

  11. Hello, So I there are like 4 hours left in the black and blue sale and I have been biting my nails to the nub trying to decide if I want to pull the trigger on this or not. Incriminator Audio has only recently came onto my radar as an option for me and because of this I am a little weary of dropping 600 bucks on what is essentially a shot in the dark for me. Not to say they IA hasnt been around doing their thing for a long time, I just wasn't aware of them. So I come to the place I know I can get some well informed advice and information from some of the most valuable and experienced audiophiles I have ever dealt with. So let me lay things out to make it a little simpler to respond to. 1: In terms of longevity, how do IA's amps deal with vibration, 4 volt preouts, low input voltage spikes, hot and cold weather, and loads under 1 ohm? 2: Do these amps really sell for $700 plus normally? or are they marked up a little to make the savings look more drastic. 3: For IA amplifier owners, what are some pro's and cons I should be aware of. (almost every amp I have come across has weak points, design flaws if you search hard enough) Just got a liitle bit of time to either let the sale slide, or go ahead and put the order through. But I want to be sure of what im dealing with before i get 600 bucks poor'er ( only for the thing we all love so much) Thank you all, I love what we got goin on here.

    Saz-5000 and Ns1

So I am looking to pick up my first monster amp and I'm between these two, cause I'm afraid they are going to stop making them. I am aware of the fact that the ns1 has had some problems in the past (mechanically, and shipping related) and that the ns1 is more oriented towards competition use. The SAZ-5000 I haven't heard a whole lot positive or negative or any feedback really at all. Besides the input voltage differences that the ns1 has and it's power difference, what are some differences between the two.

Greatest Passenger Car Engine of last 25 Years

2JZ is up there, all it takes is hearing this motor bounce of the limiter once and that's enough. The 4 liter e92 M3 motor is a race motor for everyday, I mean... 8 throttle bodies, and 8,300 rpm from a v8 what else do you want. Those are the best two, in my biased world.

    Saz-5000 and Ns1

Saz-5000 it is. Staring at and owning the power supply has to be worth half it's price tag by itself. Is there anything from you guys in the near future of that caliber that will come out? ( Saz 6000-10,000) Or is it a safe bet to jump on her now.
  15. Yeah 1500 to 2000 is a small difference. So you got the right idea, there are a ton of great options at that power level too, you are at a great level. I wish I hadn't gone the direction I went with my amplifier purchase sometimes... Haha

    Saz-5000 and Ns1

It will be used as a daily driver. There is a ns1 v2. That is available to the public? I like all the v2 and v3 sundowns I have seen. As a question kinda directed at " sundowns" will there be a v2 Saz-5000 to emerge on the market anytime soon?
  17. That is helpful, if you want electrical friendly don't go with hifonics. They are power hungry for the wattage they put out. Rockford fosgate prime 1200 would be good for your application.

    IA-20.1 Input/opinions from you guy's

Yup, its going down. now its the waiting game and trusting effing fedX or UPS with my shit. Il take some pics when she comes in W.W.
  19. Whoa your from seattle! NW love all around.
  20. What is your budget for the amp? that would help with suggestions. Im biased: the last experience with soundstream was a 2500 watt "tarantula" series that never clamped more than 1700 watts. hifonics is ehh if you cant do any better. Gain has to be cranked to get any real results Mb quart Is Hifionics all Biased personal opinions^ no experience with the other three. Soundqubed is having a cyber monday sale on their 2200 though... and Im a huge soundqubed nut hugger.

  22. So i'm putting the order into Soundqubed in about a week for a 3500. I want to do everything I can to keep it in good condition. I have seen people mount amps using rubber bushings, washers and spacers. and I have seen plenty of "straight to wood, seatback" amp mounting. I definitely want to put it on bushings of some sort or build an amp rack, maybe a combination of the two. I was also wondering about separating the amps mounting postion from the subs, box and trunk area to try and reduce hard vibrations as much as I can. Is this necessary? How do I mount the amp with rubber "feet" so to speak? and where do I get them? Should i separate the subs from the amp? Just for fun: whats the worst amp mounting job you have seen?
