question for sundownz about motor strength

i wasnt refering to actual looks of subs more the fact every sub he has built has proven to be great at what it was designed for. yes i was refering to the BL^2/RE is 92. i read in another forum where you comented on the hcca being around 150 and saying most spl subs are higher than that. now how does the top plate effect this? do you want a tall top plate or thin one. i also plan on having sundowz rebuild them when i destroy them unless i feel its better to just start fresh with his subs.

    2011 SBN IA Kendra Poster

very dissapionting im an a s s man and neither hers or the subs are visible
  3. by looking at your products alone you know your shit about subs. i have a pair of 10's i had built for me a couple years back 60lbs each so there is some serious magnets on them. the bl/re in series is only a 92 im guessing this is due to the coil. if i had it rebuilt to something with twice the motor strength what could i see in output diffrence? current coils are round copper 8layer not sure on what the rest of the specs are. i know they could use a spider spacer for more travel they will hit the top plate before the coil can bottom. is it possible the charge is weak on the magnets?

Team MN Loudest, the JEEP IS BACK, 2 18 btls walled!!!

just get ia baskets and cones and use the btl coil and motor 21in btl ta da
  5. no need for a loaded btl if you plan on getting a hifonics amp. look into getting a rd 3250v1 same board as the saz3k they go used for around 450 used much better option

    SPL Head Unit

OMG, IM SORRY I THINK THE UNIT SUCKS o.k. On this unit you can't turn off the bass center frequency you must use it ( 60hz to 180hz) no flat. The bass focus delay affects the subwooter timing.Pause button takes 10 seconds maybe more before music play back. You never just get answer here. Are you talking about the low pass filter??. I think you're confusing that with something else. And a more detailed question would work, because I don't think I've heard of an SPL Deck...Like others said maybe you want something that doesn't skip, or that can pause. its a boost of the the bass frequencys like how some amps have a variable bassboost and not one set at 45hz. it may effect the sub but should be limited to the speaker outputs

it may be frustrating sometimes but the more detailed you are about something can help others help you better and faster so you get exactly what you wan and not another hu you dont like

changing box : how does the sub "feel" it?

the biggest thing is you are used to hearing songs one way that get crazy loud due to the box tuning you had now as you start going thru your music again you will find songs that didnt slam before now hit crazy loud also depending on the way the box is setup it may have moved as you where driving. i get a noticeable decrease in output if my box slides forward an inch 3-4db decrease. your box may have slide into a better alignment.

    SPL Head Unit

it is possible to run in the lanes without pause but its not easy im using a factory hu and it has no pause but i get it done. panasonics that i have used have done very well at not skipping the best is if you have an ipod dock it will never skip.

    Hifonics OLM Subs ?

i understand you wanted to find him the right sub but there is so much more to it than the sub. how was the old system setup size of box tuning size subs box orientation and what about it did not make you happy

    Is This A Rip-Off?

considering it has 75 amps of fusing i dont think it does rated at max draw if it were 100% efficient you would get 1080w so id figure 800w probably. for a true 2k it should have 4 40's not 3 25's that or be externally fused

    subwoofer unloading

My box is only slightly bigger ( by .3 cu. ft.) than what my driver likes and it only needs a 1000 watts to power it. I don't have many problems with the saz 1000d. I have my ssf set somewhere around tuning which is 32 hz so im not in any risk of damaging it unless i turn up the gain but i can hear when its screaming from pain. I only asked my question about unloading because i was interested in WHY subs unload under tuning frequencies, i know that it happens, its just a rule of vented enclosures. even the .3 cu might reduce the mechanical power handling to 800w and im sure the amp you have is capable of pushing 1200+ so its possible you are over powering it that or there may be a problem with the spiders being worn.

    subwoofer unloading

if you are having this problem at or over tuning you are not unloading you are simply bottoming out the driver not good this means you have to much power going to the driver or to large a box. decrease one or both and the problem will go away. if you want to run the same amp you have now build a smaller box
  14. your not looking for sq at all. what you want is a sub or subs that dominates the lows . first what do you plan on using for music to demo.

    Two Q 12's or One Q 15

personaly i dont like pioneer speakers. id look into a decent pair of cdt components and as far as subs go depends on your box if you want real sq seal the trunk and get an ib sub but you should be fine with a sealed box a 15 will work as long as it is blended properly if you want to go ported for addional bass extension a single 12 will be more than enough
