    Headunit doesn't fit?

take some pics and post them! that mite give us an idea on whats going on. also did you make sure you have the right dash kit? take it to ur local best buy they might charge like $20-30 and just let them do it. i know its VERY easy to do but if you let them break it then they have to fix it Yeah i was thinking of going to Best Buy. I think its too much of a hassle, plus its such a bitch to get the headunit fitting RIGHT. I think im going to take my car there tomorrow. thanks!
  2. Driving a 03' bmw 325i sedan, have a JVC KD-AVx77 and it doesn't fit. The dash kit I purchased doesn't even fit it. I also think that the panel that goes over the dash kit doesnt even fit the unit either. Anyone know what I can do? Am I going to have to customize it?

How should i wire my sub?

dual 4 ohm. i think i need to wire in series... Fi's only come in dual 1 or dual 2 Since the amp whet into protect the coils are dual 1 and you had it wired to that amp at an .50 an ohm. Run it in series and you get a 2 ohm load and you'll be good. x2 I was only thinking about mainstream subs(I meant dual 1 or 2 ohms) Oh ok thanks, i have the Dual 2. thats what i was thinkin at first

How should i wire my sub?

Well i got my system together ( needs some minor adjustments here and there). Running a jvc KD-avx77 to my kicker zx750.1 amp, and to my Fi SSD12 with copper coil option. I wired it in parallel but then my amp went into protection mode and i didnt even really turn up the gain much. Should I wire it in series? My sub has the DVC option

    HELP!!!

oh i fixed it lol. forgot the remotes, and the solid blue are all together.
  7. I just got my brand new JVC KD-AVX77 in today. Got all the supplies needed and hooked it all up properly. *soldering and heat shrink. The unit itself works fine, but no sound at all! No sound is being projecting through the speakers. I put in my stock headunit and it works fine. Anyone know what the issue is? I matched up all the connections. I called JVC and someone told me to connect all the reds and yellows and connect them together............can someone help? I need this done today! Thanks
  8. Does anyone have pics of all the different color dustcaps you can get for the Fi subs? Im getting a Fi SSD 12'' and looking to see what looks good. Thanks

    JL W3v3 2ohm 10''

Hey guys Im looking to buy a JL w3v3-2ohm 10'' in my car. I have a 04' BMW 3 series sedan now. I will be getting a custom box so it fits snug somewhere (not moving around everywhere). I currently have my kicker zx750.1 amp, do you think this will be a good match for it? Or do you recommend the 4ohm version? Running just a 4 gauge to it, and looking for some decent CLEAN bass to satisfy everyone in my car =D
  10. i was just looking at that about 10 minutes ago lol. I been researching that and haven't heard so many great reviews on that unit. I dont see much people with experience with it also. Do you have that?

Is Focal a good component system?

i doubt best buy will be selling focal any time soon. Focal isn't so overrated, they are simply great quality comp speakers. I am looking to get some focal comps very soon for my car. or you should look into some infinity kappas
  12. Hey guys Im looking for a single din flip out for my car. Reason why I am choosing a flip out is because I have limited space, and still want my A/C. I could put in a double din below it but I dont want to do that. I am looking for a NAVI/GPS h/u with basic features, cd/dvd. I don't want to spend a fortune on it. My price limit is about $700. So far after some research, I am looking at a Pionner AVIC-n4 or n5. Anyone have any input on whats a good h/u? Brands? Thanks!

    Amp gain

You cannot generalize like this. Every amp and head unit combination will yield a different gain setting. The gain is set to match the head unit's voltage. That's it. If you have a head unit that puts out 6 volts and your amp's gain goes from 0.5-6 volts, you'll need to have the gain completely down. If the head unit puts out .5 volts, you may need to have it all the way up. Setting the phase to 150 is also generalized, and 99% of the time will be incorrect. You set the phase of the sub to match the interior speakers and what sounds best. Every vehicle will be different in its acoustics, as will every sub/box combo and interior speaker relationships. It doesn't matter if you have two subs, they will always be in phase with each other as long as you wired them correctly, and they should be. If you wire one out of phase with the other in the same box, it won't work. It's just like switching polarity on interior speakers to get them to sound right with each other. thanks for clearing this up for me.
