    How many cubic feet

What you want to tune at? Just because you have the volume, you may be dicked on getting the vent long enought. May be hard to get it long enough in that box. Id do 2 12's. just me...
  2. No worries. Get wangin man...... enjoy. Those boards served us well. Have fun, and welcome to SSA.
  3. Jesse ? Is that one of my old boards? This is Kyle.

    Finding DB's

Your right dude. I know SEVERAL that have "foamed" their vents. Not just removed them, but shot 30 plus cans of GREAT STUFF foam, ALL through out the channels/duct work. Just loaded it full. No shit. And, like i said earlier, they did it, because IT WORKED.

    Finding DB's

What i know. ..... wont take long lol. I know im a no one. I know im "new" to this forum. I know i dont have many answers. From lurking, i DO know, Sean knows his shit. Has knowledge i want. I really know, id rather just talk about what we all love, or have a passion for. Just sayin. Billy, just let some things go bud. Open ears, close mouth, take it in, type of thing. Add your goods, when ya can. Feel me? I can see there is a issue, but, instead of "just ban me then", maybe see if it can go another direction. Just me. Again, i dont know much. Anyway...... At finals, i heard a dude say he gained 2db (from a 156, to a 158) from just pulling his DRIVER side chair. If he pulled both, it was only 1.4. So he pulled ONLY his driver seat, and left his pass seat in. LOL. 2 db? Insane. I never even tried that in my blazer build. I wasnt shooting for burp scores, but my hell.... 2db!!!???? Silly. Brent Leavitt, the RTA guru around here, would test at the location he was at (when he was out of state, or what have you) just before the show. Just to account for weather temp. Weather temp? jesus.... I just shake my head and grab a beer. Jesus. lol. Also, i know everyone that hits the coast, LOVES teh meter more. Why? Elevation. No shit. Like a .7 gain, across the board, just getting to or around sea level. So crazy. lol.... Still not sure why the fuck we do this silly stuff. lol......

    Finding DB's

Fuck ya bro. If you get in a competitors rig, and look around. You will see some strange shit. Drivers vent closed, and aiming left, or whatever. A small piece of tape, here, and there. Just know, if ITS THERE, its THERE FOR A REASON lol. It would NOT be like that, if it did not produce results. Ive seen some really odd, and silly stuff, but, ... if they are doing it (the hard core) then there IS a reason lol. No doubt.

    Finding DB's

Yup. And hell a half db, it comes down to 10ths most of the time. Tenths man. At the upper level, everyone is SOOoooo close, its like nothing. A piece of tape, here or there, temperature that day,... silly stuff you have to pay attention to, lol, may get you a ring/win or cost you one. Also depends how you meter, or what ORG your in. Sealed up, on the dash, or outlaw, something open, kick stuff, or head rest stuff. All comes into play. Now, we arent loud. So, i cant help much at all. Never have been. Our goals are different than just netting DB's. That said...... Find and use your vehicle resonance. Efficient. Big one to me. Use that to a advantage. Get your enclosure to like what the rig likes, and you will gain large. Use it, instead of fight it. If your into that. We always fight it, because we want to play lower than what the rig likes. Been that way in every build we have done. Blazers liked 44ish and peaked at 35,...and the burb likes about the same, 44, 46. But we want to peak well lower. But, if you can have the rig HELP you, (tunning fork style) instead of hurt you, be more efficient, it helps a ton. When it comes to the lil tricks, it will be hella vehicle dependant. Test your nuts off....... :shrugs:
  11. So dope Jeff. Great work. You should be hella proud bro. Keep in touch my friend. Sloppy kisses.
  12. Ran at .25 nominal, daily in the blazer for about 4 months. Got those two boards hot as fuck. Also, and bare with me. The drivers control was shitty. Im no guru, but, I guess dampening factor flies out of the window wired full retard. I just didnt like the way the drivers behaved. I did nuke both boards in that time. And i hated the way the drivers moved when i leaned on it hard. Ill never do that again, for competing or not. Certainly not for daily. Had those repaired, and added 2 more, and ran all of them at .7 nominal, daily. Never had a issue there, and control was MUCH MUCH gooder. Currently run .5 nominal, daily in the burb now. 4 of the 6 in the burb, are from the blazer build. Still chugging. Have been for a good amount of time. Boards get hardly warm at all. We do NOT know our rise, or any of that. But, im confident they are fine, control is great, playing 20hz for over 30s full, and have not ran into any soft part issues. Thermally, we arent even worried. Where i think we are making OK power, thermal we dont even worry. Drivers hardly get warm even after long abusive play. i would expect some issues to arise though, when we add power. We may have to shrink the sealed side. We will see. Its one of those things. You want to make power, but keep shit working, and be reliable. Those that wire in the dirt for burps, usually know exactly where they are rising to, and burp at tune, which is where your driver should move least. So, mechanical should hold OK, you know, unless your throwing ungodly amounts at the driver, which a lot do. And its only for 3 seconds. I see many many in the lanes, now a days, that have a switch, or physically wire up and down for when they burp, then demo/play music.
  13. Made it back late as hell monday night. That drive back was not fun at all. Got stuck on top of Donners pass because of weather. Took almost 16 hours to get back. The weather at finals was rainy as hell, but, it was still a great time, full of great people. Official results where posted for our classes yesterday. Psyclone- 1st in the nation, 2nd in the world. Those canadians got us with a better RTA. We did get them on the loud and low portion, with a ending 155.3 at 20hz after 30 seconds/average. That is a new all time high using the new format. Pretty proud of that. Bass race (30s average sealed on the dash) 159.9 class.- we were the ONLY team on the west coast to qualify. They take the top 9 in the world for brackets, with one buy. Then, met Neil Barber in the brackets. And he pushed our shit in. We still have work to do there. We did net a 6th place there, which, with that stacked bracket, im hella stoked about. Thanks for those that followed the build. At the moment it is parked in storage, and neither of us want to look at it, work on it, sit in it, or anything with it....lol..... time for a break, and to relax a bit before its pulled out and played with again. Again, thanks for all the support. KB KC
  14. One hell of a trip. Was fun. Weather was shit, but, was a blast, full of great people.
  15. Appreciate it all. One more cup of coffee, and then a 14 hour ride to Sacramento for finals. Wish us luck. On our way,........
  16. magic blue boxes in..... 8g everywhere...... All are in all are charging Working like a champ.
  17. Pass side of the rear. OEM roof ac controls moved to the rear. Duct work, and adjustable vents, (blows wicked nice). Volt meteres in for hi (16v) and low (12v) meters installed Drivers side rear. Second HU installed, with wing nuts. It pulls out, with 18 feet of cable. Has its own PAC knob, and usb socket. 3 way switch and relays, only one deck (front or rear) can be on, at one time, depending on where the switch lays. Ampere Audio DSP installed. All fuses shown for judges. Seperate switches for sub amps, and 4 chan amps. 3 of the 4 alts pulled (sucks so bad) Factory reg is pulled, new plug installed in each to send field wire to each of the 3 seperate transpos. Back in.... will all be spinning soon

    voltage Meter

Could not agree more. Something that "plotted" over time, you could go back and look at would be cool. Thats cool you say that. I have an older fluke 96b meter. Had it for some time. Never really got to deep with it. My understanding is ( after i finally downloaded the manual and did a quick sniff around) its somewhat capable of recording, over a set time, peaks and valleys. Im not exactly sure how it works, or what exactly it shows. I need to play with it A LOT more. TBH, its a bit over my head.

    voltage Meter

Have used the damore and or usainvolt meters in almost every build weve done. Both are the best out imho. Had a dakota digital in my old build in my car back in the day. Was nice also. Now, we Have a high volt damore one in the burb up front watching the high volt side. Also, 2 cheap ones off ebay in the rear to watch 12v and 16v sides in the rear. Just for quick monitoring. With all that, we still never go anywhere with out our fluke, and keep in plugged in at all times, set to MIN/MAX when testing, and in the lanes to see exactly whats going on. All depends on how much ya wanna spend, and how dork you wanna get. If you just want a "quick" refernce, a cheap ass meter will "do". If you want to see exactly whats up, nothing beats a DMM imho. Love the min/max option.

    Lets see your AMPERE goods.

Thank you boss man. Means a lot coming from people like yourself. Much appreciated. Finish work, isnt really our bag. Neither of us are really that good at high zoot, top quality finish type work. Just dont know enough. But,... it looks OK, for what it is. Thanks again all for the comments, and such. Makes all the late night, early morning, hard ass, frustrating work worth it. I know you all know how that is.
  23. Im not sure how much its actually making. Wired at .5, and doing the 18v thing, id imagine they are doing ok. Maybe around upper 3 maybe low 4k range, im not sure. Well put the term pro clamp on it when we are at finals. Speaking of which,........ net enough points to qualify, and get invited to all 3 disciplines. Makes me hella proud. That said, i think we will just do psyclone, and 159.9 bass race. The burp stuff isnt our bag. So, i think well just do the 2 of the 3, well see how spunky we are when we get there. Got the email friday
