ive heard an 18" xcon, a 18" fi q, and i have a 18" death row.
the xcon sounded way better then the q.
my death row i think sounds just as good if not better then the xcon.

do you think you have to put a battery in the trunk as well?
what door speakers are you going to be running to keep up with it? What amp would you use?
I am curious to see how your electrical system will hold up. I am planning on getting an optima yellow top and also a kinetik hc 1400 for the rear to make sure everything is recieving proper voltage.
on most songs my volts stay in the high 13's. on the songs that it drops it usually goes from mid to high 12's.
im gona put another battery in sometime. right now i just have a yellow top in front with the big 3. im using a saz 1500d.

so ive had my death row in for a couple weeks and it slamssss.
its way louder then my bl. its nasty on the lows and highs.
i can hear everything rattling in my jimmy. it sounds like everything is about to just fall right off.
i have no deadening so it kinda sounds like shit but i like it lol. it pushes a lot of air also.
what are the specs on the box it is in right now?
What are you gonna put it in?
ill have to check the dimensions. im not sure what the depth is but its 20 inches tall and 37 wide.
i have a 2000 jimmy.

Of course to put that in perspective if you turned the gains down to 3000w you wouldn't be able to hear the difference between them set at 4500w or 3000w.
Great.
I know the amps were not clipping cause the controller I used has clipping warning.
This was not the case.
I think there was a combination of things that caused the failure.
The reason I got pissed actually was because if the system was not putting out what I assumed then the problem it self became different. Ok there are not putting out that much....et,etc, well then what the hell did the alt in??..these thoughts were crossing my mind. I think the combination of the stock pulley being on there, idling and cranking it at what ever it is putting out did it.
I also did not charge the batteries to full capacity before installing them.
I assumed (again) that driving the van without the system being one would charge them in a hurry with a 250 amp alternator.
As soon as the new stuff arrives, I'm charging the batteries with an independent charger and then install them. In one forum I asked how many batteries did I need. All suggestions were basically as many as you can. So I guess the two Kinetik 3800 along with the two BATCAP 4000's will be wired into the regular charging system with the 350 Amp alternator.
im tellin you man you dont need 6 batteries along with that 350 alt.
at most three in the back and 1 under your hood. and probably need even that.
youll just put more strain on your alt if you do this.
Ok...The van has two batteries to begin with. I Only added the two kinetik 3800's.
Lets see what happens with the 350 Amp alt and the smaller pulley.
and your talkin about putin the other batteries in also.

Than why do a lot of the audio cars have hyperground? I'm confused now lol
ive never heard of it before you mentioned it tonight.
all i can think of is hyperflex. thats a type of wire from knuconceptz.
and when you said daisy chaining i thought you were talking about strapping amps together.

oh well hell. proved me wrong didnt he lol.
i just seen daisy chaining and figured he was talking about strappin amps.

Advice on what, you already bought more alt than you need.
Hahaha funny.
So you realize I do not know how much I actually need. But your answer makes me feel safe.
Thanks.
What I meant with playing as loud as I want and for as long is ...being able to play it maybe one song at the really high output and not having to watch ..oh wait...I have been playing at this high level for 45 seconds so I have to stop before I fry the alt.
The pulley is straight forward. I wasn't aware that the smaller pulley was changed back to the stock larger one. I have a smaller belt being FedEx'ed right now so Ican use that small pulley. Basically the new kit will have an additional tension-er as well if I choose to run the second alt.
Just one last question please. Will one 350 amp Alt be enough or do I absolutely have to run both if I want to be able to play for any extend of time???
This is some good advice guys..Many thanks.
if you do as i said and buy a battery charger you shouldnt have any problems.

daisy chaining has to do with amps.
the second part you said is right

in a way i believe it makes people that like to speed a little better at driving.
a person with a detector wont always be speeding because they slow down once it goes off.
now a person without one that likes to speed wouldnt slow down. maybe unless they seen a cop.
It is still not helping the ones who speed become better drivers, it helps them be in control while doing wrong (it doesnt make up for there poor driving skils in any way shape or form).
"Does this mean the detector makes me a better driver, not directly but I am a better driver while I am using it for its intended purpose."
(///M5 said it best, it directly, logically and common sense wise does not make you a better driver period). Now being more attentive or having help on the road helps you out, yes I agree but if your not a good driver from go then that device makes it worse or makes excuses for you until it goes off). Just my .02
thats really wat i was tryin to say.
it just makes them more cautious for a period of time.
not a better driver but more cautious.

what you need to do is get a battery charger so your alts dont have to recharge all your batteries.
it sounds like thats what happened to your other one.
see your alt had to charge all the batteries when playing your system.
which led to the alt failing.

the amp is not even a class d amp and i have a 1ohm dr on the way is this a bad thing? this is the link i have, the 2200 watt is mine http://www.splusa.net/AMP_FX.htm
actually that works out better.
since you have a 1 ohm sub you can wire your amp to a 2 ohm load. it says your amp puts out 1700 at 2 ohms.

Thanks guys I replaced my belt yesterday and blew a fuse. I was thinking of using the 4g power wire to my amp for the big 3 than getting 0g for the amp. Good or bad idea?
well its better then ur stock 8 guage so it will help some.
but if you can get 0 guage for your amp get some for the big 3 also. you dont need that much.

Your the 2nd person that I heard said that the Q doesnt work well in ported enclosures which is different from what i've heard. Have you tested in both enclosures? The Z15 and Q are rated at the same rms power, is the Z15 more musically or produces more SPL? Why does Z15 > Q?
i thought the q sounded good ported.
thats just my opinion though.

yea thats just about what i have but mine is all silver thats y i was kinda worryed cuz its just as you said "entry level" amp
well if you dont feel like it can handle it you can just turn the gain down.

your amp could be clipping also.
you might have the ggain set to high. if you do it will cause the sub to get warm because its clipping.
