You will be fine with two different batteries, no isolator/solenoid needed unless you playing your system with car off alot. Just make sure to get an agm charger to charge your secondary battery from time to time to take some work off the alternator. Just my .02
sweet thats even better
thanks

yea before i set my gain with my dmm i had the bass on 5/7 and i couldnt hear the words so great with the sub.
after i set my gain i put my bass to 0 and its soooo much better. since there was a lot of bass going through the speakers it was causing distortion.
you wouldnt hear distortion because the sub can take a lot more.
it was just causing your amp to clip and you cant hear that.
also you say that thats where you max out anyways. since you already set the gain with your settings where you want them dont change mess with them at all now.
you put your settings where you want them then set the gain.

i would get an XS over a kinetik if you can afford it that is! ya you can MIX and Match batteries it isn't recommended and if you do ppl MAY say to get an soleniod inbetween those 2 batteries! but everyone is differnet ppl say get a soleniod b/c with 2 different batteries they will have different stuff like charge rates and AH and all that other stuff like that!
yea i figured itd cause problems with two different batteries and no isolator.
how much is an isolator?

why did you set the gain with the sub out at -2, everything ive read says put the sub out all the way up, the way you have it set, you have to turn the gain MUCH higher to make power than if you had the sub out turned up and the eq flat. Im not sure but id assume its easier to turn the gain up and into clipping at the amp if your amplifying such a low signal so high.
its fine he just has to set everything before he sets the gain and doesnt change it after.
if he changes it afterwards it can cause the amp to clip.

lol i probably wont get an isolator. ill take my chances.
i got a yellow top in front and the big three so im not to worried bout it haha.
ive seen some people use two different batteries and some people says its bad and some say its alright.
so if i have a yellow top and i get a xs or kinetic would it be alright?
also in the diagram is there 2 batts in the back and one in the front?

thanks man
do you absolutely need an isolator?
if i dont get one would it mess anything up?

ive looked and looked and looked some more but i cant find the diagram for adding a second battery.

Ok, I cut it back some. About the best I get to was 45 volts. This thing is real touchy, I barely move it from there and it goes down to 35. So I figure 40 volts should be pretty close if I keep the volume one notch lower. Now, are you familiar with the 1500d? What exactly does the phase control do? I turn it but nothing really changes. And I must say WOW, I am very impressed with this amp so far. Even at 4 ohms my 3512 is slamming, almost afraid to go down to 1 ohm on it and see what it can really do. Thanks for your help, btw.
well the 1500d is underrated so even though its rated at 400 watts it puts out more.
jacob from sundown did testing on it and it put out 518 watts at 4 ohms.
and your phase you dont have to worry about. just turn it all the way down.
edit- sorry i didnt explain what phase was. it allows your speakers and subs to all move in and out at the same time.
if you hear an echo in your car or dont like how it sounds you can play with the phase but i just leave mine at 0 because it sounds fine.

if your wiring the 1500d to 4 ohms you need it to be at 40 volts.
its rated 400 watts at 4 ohms.
400*4=1600
1600 squared is 40.

welcome to the forum.

well i got a rockford T1500 amp wired down to 1ohm. so what would you perfer to get? Or is it hard to change out the universal, or what would you recommend ordering?
get a dual 2 ohm sub that way you can wire it down to a 1 ohm load.

dual 1 and dual 2 depends on what amp you get.
universal lets you change it from dual 2 to dual 1 later on if you want to and vice versa.

welcome
post some pics of the build. we always want pics lol

The BL motors handle 1500 watts very well in a large box. Just be smart about it, and it'll last forever.
Edit: Well that is, until you think about how you want that extra punch and get a BTL :)
when the box is larger power handling goes down.

also it does it mostly when moving if that helps anything
it most likely is something with the wires.
when the amp moves its makin the wires move causing the amp to shut off.

Does anyone have the true power rating on this sub i recently just got one and i was wondering how much could they handle
what i have been hearing is anywhere from 1500 to 2500 any truth to this
i don't wanna ruin my new sub
i have mine playin off 1500.
i wouldnt go much more then that.
especially not 2500.

Flip a coin.
i like how you guys dont push someone to buy your products over someone else's.
a lot of people would. we need more people in the world like you guys at ssa

like you said the subs still need to break in.
just give it a little more time and itll start gettin louder.

will be making a attempt to grab the mdf tomorrow,

i rean the dp's on 708w each deffinatly need at least 1500w rms each for music to make them sound there best ludeman is runnin a sundown 3001 on one death row and its laughing at him. what is your box size u have in mind for these subs i have six cubes and only one 20.1 doing as of last night 148.3 db music and 148.9 at 44hz for burp but i oversized my enclosure because it was a low powered setup i have way more in there you if your gonna use the 3000 make room for some oversizing. not much though. just gotta find your groove then its beer time
ludeman doesnt have the 3000d runnin all 3000 watts.
he has it at 1300. he gained down. the death row wont take that much.

So how did you guys come up with mascots for the subwoofers? Like why does the Icon have a Schnauzer? What are the other type of dogs?
It is not serious, but it is our dogs between the two of us. And since there are 3 speakers and 3 dogs, just funny.
Ferdinand is a Mini-Schnauzer
Maxie is a Euraiser
Bailey is a Beagle I think.
I didnt think it was that serious but it sounded interesting when you said they had mascots, just a curious individual and that caught my attention so I thought I would ask.
that just goes to show how good ssa products are. they have mascots lol!

yea id rather not have an isolator.
i think itd just be more simple without it.
