    Feedback on these cards?

That's a perfectly valid point Aaron... I had thought about that... hmm. Seems like it wouldn't be a big deal but it's a technicality. Maybe I'll come up with some other ideas

    96' Isuzu Rodeo

If you need any help shoot me a message, the materials aren't too expensive at all... in fact if I'm not mistaken you can score everything at Wal-Mart! Fiberglass resin, fleece and/or glass mat, Bondo, and all the expendables... depending on prices, under $40 should net you everything you need and then some. You can even improvise a little bit. For my A-Pillar tweet pods I used an old t-shirt soaked in resin

I like the goal you have in mind for this build. I think you should give glassing pods a shot, it's nothing too difficult and there are plenty of good tutorials around the net!

Interesting car, is that all fiberglass work?
  9. Hey guys... I have a build log over at CA.com as well but I'm really getting tired of the childish behavior of the mods around there (I got banned for "joining in '08" along with a bunch of other people) so I decided to come over here to SSA and show you guys what I've been up to the past couple months. At the time of this writing, my setup consists of the following: 2 15" Fi Q's (DVC 1ohm, wired to total load of 1 ohm) AQ2200D amp 7cuft ported box tuned @ 32Hz - designed by Chris at Fisher Customs, built by me Infinity 475a Reference amp running highs (soon-to-be IDCTX65CS comps, I just need to build the door pods for them. Running some Kenwoods up front for now) All KnuKonceptz 1/0ga wiring, Big3 done in 1/0ga Optima RedTop battery 100sqft Damplifier Pro - entire trunk, and two front doors (roof soon to come ) Rear deck port OK well I hope you like it if you have any questions or advice then shoot! Here is mah baby Pioneer P4000UB Laying out two sheets of 3/4" MDF The big boy all done One run of 1/0ga and one run of 4ga (It was already there so I just left it in place for the smaller amp) Preliminary fitting

    Infinitely Baffled The Do-Over. :P

You make it look so easy Hugo!! As the guys said I bet a full sound deadening job would do the trick, especially since the trunk is your enclosure. Oh and would you mind shooting me a PM with your number again man? New phone FTL Here's to the best installer in the U.C. area! :drink40:

Hehe, well with the couple of weeks I had her rigged up in my backseat and have been gently breaking her in, I like what I hear. Jon was telling me that the Nightshades are designed to be SPL woofers, but as I learn with every setup I own that the woofer's performance is 90% install dependent... It sounds good on music but I think for that purpose the box is a tad small... I believe he said it was about 4 cubes, you can hear it in the frequency response as the low end rolls off pretty steeply... probably an excellent box for scoring high on the TL but I'll definitely give her some more breathing room in the next enclosure! And then I can write a proper review! Took the box out today, it's serving an excellent purpose as a coffee table in my room for now I have the next few days off unfortunately so I'll run up to HD or Lowes and score some lumber and foam, and get these off to you already... can you email or PM me your shipping info? Thanks Steve!

    4 DP21 Wall Build

Looks f*cking amazing man, all you need now are little hooks up front to hang ear protection from And throw some ArmorAll on those subs already! lol Oh yeah and Ryobi tools FTW they are very solid little things. Just picked me up that 18v drill and a jigsaw too but I think I have the lighter-duty jigsaw it's like 3amps or something compared to the 4amp one

Well as some of you know the Q's are toast... going to be sending them to Steve Mead here shortly. Drove up to San Marcos... left with Jon's 18" Sundown Nightshade (also reconed by Steve) and he tells me it will handle up to 3k daily and 7k burp... after riding around for a couple weeks with it in the backseat hooked up to my AQ2200D I went ahead and took it out so I can finish parting out my system. Spent the last couple of weeks gently breaking it in, it sounds great off of 2200watts but it will sound even better with more power... so I'm going to spend the next couple of months gathering my thoughts and materials to plan this next build... I want to integrate it into the trunk instead of just having a big ole clunky box back there. Whatever it is it's going to have to be sub up, port front configuration.. I will most likely get in touch with Chris over at Fisher Customs again for the box design since he did a great job on the last. For the amp I'm thinking either a SAZ-3000D or maybe one of those Crescendo 3k's that Vic was running... Oh, and probably going to remove my non-working air shocks from the back and put some stiffer passive shocks in the back to cope up with the extra weight! Just a few pics

Don't know how I survived on these

Nope that tire was not run flat. It held pressure up until the day I took it off.

Don't know how I survived on these

Removed my last two rims yesterday to put the stocks back on... been having very bad vibration the past couple months I chalked it up to an alignment issue until I took the tires off and saw this: Tire 1: Tire 2: I'm just amazed that these didn't blow out on me with all this highway driving I've been doing!

    Sigh..

Sorry to hear about that bro... there are some real pieces of s*** out there. I would look into an alarm system with a remote pager... nothing can completely guarantee against theft but any amount of protection is better than none

    RIP to my Q's...

Just another fail in the recent line of events affecting my car... Immediately realized I'd blown one woofer the other night when it stopped playing and the car filled up with a sickening burning scent, pulled the box out today only to discover not only did I have one crunchy woofer, but other one was not far behind! These woofers have more than fulfilled my expectations and have had a long healthy life of two years, no BP Option, run at 100W over spec. Kudos to Fi for building such solid woofers. So now, I sit bassless... thinking about my next project!! I love the output these guys had, but I also missed my trunk space... many times a spare tire would've come in handy! I was thinking about for my next build (later this year or early next year) going with a single woofer, like a beefed up 12" BTL, and throwing 3000W at it maybe from a SAZ-3000 or the like. Anybody gone from two big woofers to a smaller, but more powerful woofer, and can give me a comparison on the output/sound? Thanks... Just some final pics.... This is not the crunchy woofer I was taken by surprise when I saw this. Spider about 80% seperated from the cone Taking this beast out of the car. Almost threw my back trying to drag it up the stairs
