    Single 18 6th order build

Want to build a series-tunes 6th order for a Single Fi Car Audio SSD 18. Not sure where to start I know 6th orders are more complex to design and more of a trial and error build but if I never try it out I will never learn. So of course the goal is to successfully build a 6th order but depending on the final results if it does not meet expectations there will be adjustments. Also if none of the revisions succeed I will fall back on a standard Ported Enclosure . Please if you have any useful information on 6th order designing/building It would be awesome if you can share them with me . Thanks in advance max dimension - height 30” - depth 21” - width 38”

    Single 18 6th order build

The only knowledge I have about designing 6th orders is that the first chamber should be for the lower frequencies and the second chamber for the higher .. i just don’t know what frequency to tune the chambers at

  6. Currently designing a Subwoofer Enclosure for an L7 15 for a 2001 Lincoln Towncar. I am planning to build the enclosure so it would is on the rear ledge in the trunk .. my question is is it bad for partial surface of the cone to only be 4 inches away from a wall of the enclosure? The enclosure will still maintain volume required

How shallow can an inverted Sub Enclosure depth be?

I’m just building the enclosure to customers request. I recommend building the enclosure as you said, but the constomer does not want a a bulky box and also wants the space underneath for things like camping chairs etc..

How shallow can an inverted Sub Enclosure depth be?

So it should be fine? Would not cause any noise from the bass hitting so close to the wall?

How shallow can an inverted Sub Enclosure depth be?

Would this cause the sub to suffocate because the wall is too close? And would this also cause distortion?
