  1. ok thanks. i would assume that i would need to be playing music for at least several minutes in order to tell if its heating up like such. i do appreciate the answer. thank you. but im not sure that is related to my question about possibly damaging the amplifier? are you talking about the headunit's voltage? i have the Alpine CDE-164BT. its preamp voltage is 4v.
  2. ok thanks. should i try by using a 40 hz test tone? or music to test? or just say whatever, and simply play music while driving and listen then? im pretty sure that my subwoofer is fine, but somewhat concerned. because the amp is like exactly matched with the RMS of amp to RMS of the subwoofer. and ive heard people sometimes overpower with higher RMS amp to their subwoofer. but i guess then my main concern should be the amplifier pushing more than it can handle and it may die or cause some issue? although ive heard amplifiers will shut down and go into protection mode before they get damaged?
  3. M5 or someone else who knows this very well, i just read this from another place on internet. curious if its true, or at least somewhat true, or whats your opinion on it! " Mathmatically speaking even a perfect square wave that no amp can even reproduce is only double power under the curve than a sine wave of the same volume. It's 1.414x the voltage so RMS voltage is double as a sine is .707x it's peak voltage to get an average So 750 watts clipped to the point of impossibility (literal impossiblity since you can't make a real square wave) is only going to give you the heat of about a 1500 watt amplifier." Basically if thats true.... then my amplifer bridged is rated at 250 RMS. My subwoofer is also rated at 250 RMS. and 500 W MAX. so then if clipped then its should produce the heat of the 500 W MAX. so then the only issue would be if its like nearly always clipping to 500 W MAX and not allowing my subwoofer to cool down? so then the subwoofer seems to be safe. but then my question is what about the amplifier? is the amplifier safe?
  4. yea thanks. i thought turning the gain all the way up was a bad idea. i think ill lower it to around 80% of max? cause the subwoofer seems okay at max gains. but i would then assume its the amplifer that may give out and be damaged? i do want the subwoofer to be louder, but dont want to damage anything. ok so thanks. you guys think turning gains to around 80% would be much safer and a good idea? also i have this amp kit KnuKonceptz Kolossus 4 Gauge OFC Amplifier Installation Kit So, would i just be able to hookup a D mono amplifer just for my subwoofer? and then i should be better off? but i am wondering, i forgot how much power can i use from my amplifiers because ill get electrical issues and need to upgrade the battery? i think i remember hearing around 600 watts RMS until i may risk electrical issues? So since my 4 channel amp is 100 RMS per channel. or 100 RMS for 2 front channels, and then bridged at 250 for subwoofer. thats around 350 to 400 RMS. But if i disconnect the subwoofer from it, its only 200 RMS. so i should be safe with around a 400 RMS D block mono amplifer?

lol them jokes im still wondering what sport he was talking about!? :] just found this t shirt that has LED EQ lights that change when music is played on sale for 9 bucks. says to hand wash it, and the lights are attached by velcro to remove before washing. pretty neat, but i wouldnt buy it lol http://www.handhelditems.com/led-equalizer-sound-activated-luminescent-t-shirt-with-detachable-panel-white-large-id-127377.html
  9. so i have alpine SPR 60 c speakers in front of my car. powered by an amp. the left tweeter produces sound. but it sounds very weak at times, sometimes i can tell more so than others, in certain parts of songs. but sometimes it just sounds lower volume than the right side. sometimes it sounds almost crackly, like something is loose in the tweeter. not sure how to explain how it sounds. but ive noticed it, and done left and right balance to be sure. and theres quite a big difference in the left to right sides. so what can i do? and what should i check? im thinking it might be the wiring or the tweeter is dying? if the amp channel is dying, i would assume the other mid speaker on the left side would suffer as well. but it seems to sound fine. just the tweeter is having issues on left side. wondering if i should just replace both front tweeters. and if so, wonder if it would sound bad to use a difference brands tweeters? i tried looking for just 1 tweeter of the alpine SPR 60c. and can only find a set of 2, and its quite expensive, $90 for 2. when i did pay $160 for the component set. but still..... i think i just need 1 tweeter. so frustrating. nothing but trouble since ive had this installed by a shop... i dont want to go back to that shop again. i may bring it to a new shop, but im very worried they may be sketchy and may cost alot. wonder if any place would do diagnostic for free , but seems unlikely

Good cheap foam to stop rattle? are these good?

ok thanks. the rattling stops when i press a finger against the plastic door panel where the grated holes are, where the sound comes out. i dont want to cover those holes with foam. so i was thinking the rattles are coming from around it? so i was thinking of placing foam around the circular area, but allow the opening to not be covered.

Left tweeter seems to be dying, sounds weak

derp me. thanks yea lol.... i should have checked it further but just wanted to ask just in case. im too cautious sometimes. i didnt see any screws so i thought it was just one piece. but i gently tried to unscrew the back part of the tweeter and sure enough it was inside a case. and i think it really is a new tweeter! so happy i finally got it in. ive been listening to music with no tweeter on right side. not sure if its the new tweeter or just cause ive been used to not having a tweeter. but holy shit am i extremely glad i got the tweeter back. honestly feels like a whole new system after spending around 9 days without the tweeter! since last tuesday morning, till late today, thursday of the next week. at first when i took out the tweeter i knew it sounded different but i didnt realize how much different it sounded until i reinstalled the tweeter. honestly makes a HUGE difference. a good one :] so tomorrow i shall check some things like swapping the polarity. checking out time alignment again. honestly time alignment is very difficult for me to notice and change around... but i feel like it could have a great benefit. and ill look around for some what to get just a bit of CCF like was suggested. i want something cheap but im sure quality and price are related even with CCF. and i think ill need some velcro to attach it thanks again to all who have helped me !

Left tweeter seems to be dying, sounds weak

got the replacement tweeter! about to install it. but it looks quite different than the tweeter i sent in. the tweeter i sent in looks the same as my other tweeter. but this replacement seems different. im thinking its just a casing around the tweeter thats making it look different.... but because i didnt do my own installation in the first place i am unsure if the shop took the casing apart when installing the tweeter. heres a manual of my speaker and tweeter online. the tweeter image looks like the casing comes off. so i am trying to figure out how to take the casing off without damaging the tweeter? and ill upload photos of my tweeter i got in the mail. and the tweeter that i shipped back. the first image is the tweeter i sent back. the second image is the tweeter i got in the mail as the replacement

  17. ok thanks, ill check it out. yea mine shuts off like 3 or 4 times, but all within a short time. then i may go like 2 weeks before it happens again. super weird. so its almost not often enough for me to worry, but its at that borderline amount where i do worry a bit lol
  18. thanks. i almost always play music from my aux cord to my phone. but im trying to remember if i may have once had a cd in and if the songs started from where it shut off when using a cd. i think it may have but yea, it definitely saves the presets. never had it reset them. ehhh electrical gremlim, lets hope not lol. ok thanks. ill take a look into checking behind the headunit. to be honest, i didnt install the headunit. in order to take the headunit out to check, would i also have to pry off the plastic parts surrounding the headunit? id assume theres several parts i would have to remove in order to take the headunit out? where would the crimp connector be installed? behind the headunit? not exactly sure what a crimp connector is? like this? if so ive seen these on my tweeter connecting to the crossover, i thought they were pre installed on my tweeter? And of course i would disconnect the negative terminal at my car battery!

my immediate thought was what... you think trump cares about people? and then i considered it for a second... meh maybe he might yea. but its a big maybe. you see how it acts so arrogant and as if he is above all those who go against his way of thought. i dont like hilary at all really. but i also dont like trump much. yea he may have ideals that are hard to implement, but at least hes a better person than the other 2 morons
